Having suffered such hardship herself, and being a woman herself, she wanted to help others as much as she could.
Besides, it's not that difficult.
Her tone was somewhat muffled, and Gu Yanbai suddenly realized that she was thinking about what had happened before.
He interrupted her rudely, "If you're going, then go. Stop dawdling. You're keeping me from going back to sleep."
Sure enough, Su Nianxue snapped back to reality in a second, gave him a disgruntled look, and said, "Fine, fine, I'm leaving. I won't disturb your grandpa's sleep."
She jumped out of bed and when she opened the door, there was already a figure sitting under the eaves.
"Yanliu, I was just about to go wake you up, but I didn't expect you to be up already!"
"I just got up not long ago!" Actually, she had been sitting outside for quite a while.
I've been listening to them argue for ages.
To be honest, her brother is too domineering; only her sister-in-law has a good personality.
If this happened to a shrew in the village, with her brother's foul temper, they'd probably fight three times a day!
She felt more and more that her sister-in-law had really had a tough time!
"Let's go, or Hongxing will get worried!"
The two arrived in town together.
Sure enough, Yang Hongxing had already packed her things and was eagerly waiting!
"Sorry we're late!"
It's not too late!
"It was my first day doing business, so I was inevitably a little nervous and didn't sleep much all night. So I just got up early!"
"Alright, sister-in-law, Hongxing, let's go, it'll be late if we don't!"
Seeing that the two of them were still chatting, Gu Yanliu couldn't help but urge them on.
"Okay, let's go!" Yang Hongxing pushed the cart, with Su Nianxue and Gu Yanliu each supporting one side.
Soon we arrived at the corner she had mentioned.
It is indeed a good location. It has a wide view, convenient transportation, shops all around, and a relatively concentrated flow of people.
With the help of two people, the stall was set up quickly.
Next, it was time to steam the buns. They couldn't help with that, so they could only stay by her side.
This was the first time Yang Hongxing had ever made steamed buns in public.
She was a little nervous at first, but since things had come to this point, she had no choice but to bite the bullet and go for it.
Fortunately, her skills were truly excellent, and soon the aroma of the steamed buns wafted out with the white steam.
The steam drifted far away on the morning breeze.
An early-rising old lady followed the aroma to the stall.
He glanced at Yang Hongxing and thought, "Hmm, she's a neat and capable young wife."
"How much are the steamed buns?"
"Auntie, one cent each!" Yang Hongxing said in a hoarse voice, encouraged by their gazes.
"Why are your steamed buns so expensive? There's a shop up ahead that sells steamed buns for only eight cents each!" the old woman grumbled, somewhat dissatisfied.
Yang Hongxing was an honest woman. She picked out a plump, white bun from the steamer and broke it in half in one go.
"Auntie, look at my filling."
It's packed with generous amounts of minced meat, and I even mixed in some pork cracklings. One bite and your mouth is bursting with juicy goodness.
So I sell these steamed buns for one cent each, which is not expensive at all.
"If I lower the price any further, I'll lose money."
The old lady took a look and it was indeed true; the skin was thin and the filling was thick, with some golden-yellow fried pork cracklings mixed in, and it was only served with a little bit of scallion and cabbage.
It's much cheaper than the previous place where it cost eight cents.
"Okay, give me two. I'll take them home for my family to try."
And just like that, the first deal was made.
After hearing what the old woman said, Yang Hongxing didn't know which hand to lend.
Su Nianxue nudged her arm. "What are you daydreaming about? Go pick up some buns for the old lady!"
Yang Hongxing then came to her senses and picked up the cut banana leaves from the side.
He lifted the lid of the steamer basket, took out two steaming hot buns, wrapped them up, and handed them to her warmly.
Soon, more people followed the aroma and found the stall.
She just opened her shop today, and she didn't make many steamed buns, just enough for about two baskets.
Sure enough, they were all sold out in no time.
When she looked at the empty basket, she realized that she had forgotten to treat them to steamed buns!
She pursed her lips shyly, "Nianxue, Yanliu, I'm sorry, I forgot to treat you to something."
"It's alright, we can invite you again in the future."
"Then I'll treat you again tomorrow!" she said, somewhat annoyed. Today had been a chaotic and disorganized day, leaving her feeling dizzy and overwhelmed.
Su Nianxue smiled and said, "Given our relationship, why would we worry about not having enough to eat in the future? It's not a problem."
Gu Yanliu waved his hand magnanimously, "Sister-in-law Hongxing, let's not talk about this now. Why don't you count how much money you've made?"
"How about we count them?" She touched the purse on her waist, which was now bulging more than before, her eyes sparkling with joy.
"Count, count!" Gu Yanliu urged excitedly.
Su Nianxue shook her head. She wondered where this money-grubbing habit came from.
They're so enthusiastic even though it's someone else's money.
Yang Hongxing took out all the money from her purse and counted it out one bill at a time.
I made two batches of steamed buns today, which sold for a total of 2.4 yuan. After deducting the cost of the flour, meat, and other raw materials, I made a little over 1 yuan.
"Sister-in-law Hongxing, you're amazing!"
"I earned more than a dollar in just a short time, which is much better than grinding tofu!"
Where is it?
I'm just earning some pocket money, how can I compare to you guys?
Actually, I should thank you all!
"If it weren't for seeing you two doing business, I wouldn't have had the courage to do this!"
