Unlike their lively interaction, the couple in the next bed were much quieter.
Yang Hongxing first asked a few simple questions, such as whether it hurt.
Zhou Mingjie's answer was the same as Gu Yanbai's; he simply said it didn't hurt.
However, from any perspective, his injury was much more serious than Gu Yanbai's.
Not only were his hands and feet wrapped in thick bandages, but his face also bore fresh marks.
After asking these questions, the two fell into a long silence.
It was as if the question had just been a routine inquiry.
Zhou Mingjie was also affected by the atmosphere between the couple in the next bed, and he was the first to break the silence.
