Chapter 282 The Gu Family Holds a Banquet

Zhou Mingjie sometimes got so angry that he told him to just not come back.

From now on, he can stay at the Gu family's house. When he grows up, he can become a live-in son-in-law of the Gu family.

It will save him some trouble!

But how would a child know what that means?

He still goes to Gu's house every single day without fail, and still follows Xiaxia around like a shadow.

Su Nianxue: "Yes, our new house has been built."

Gu Yanbai suggested that they simply hold the baby's one-month celebration together with the housewarming celebration for the new house, which would save them some trouble.

Oh, and you guys have to come!

"Of course, we're all related, and we can't be without each other." In Yang Hongxing's eyes, Su Nianxue was almost like her own sister.

She'd definitely be the first one there for something like this.

"Nianxue, I just feel a little reluctant to see you all go back!"

"What's there to be reluctant about?"

Our home isn't far from town, and you've already learned to ride a bike, haven't you?

"You can bring your kids to the village to play whenever you have free time; it's only a ten-minute walk or so, not far at all."

"Even if it's close, it's not as good as living next door."

Why don't you stay in town instead of going back?

Next year, Xiaxia and Xiaoshitou will be going to kindergarten, so we'll send them to the kindergarten in town together.

Yang Hongxing's words make sense, but these matters are handled by Gu Yanbai. We'll see how he arranges things!

He doesn't let her worry about these things now, and she's happy to be a hands-off manager.

"Let's talk about this later. Actually, I'm fine with living anywhere."

The main reason is that my father-in-law misses the children. We're always staying in town, and he's not happy about it.

And Yanliu, if I go back, I can help her out in some way.

When they used to live in the village, the old man would come to their house three times a day.

Now that they live in town, it's not as convenient.

However, Gu Yanliu was considerate of the old man, and would occasionally bring Xiaxia back to the village so that he could have some fun with her.

"That's true. It's just a pity for our little Shitou. It won't be as convenient for him to play with Xiaxia in the future."

"How about I bring him to stay at our house? That way they can play together every day," Su Nianxue joked.

"It's not impossible. If you really take it with you, I don't know how much trouble it will save you."

Su Nianxue quickly waved her hand, "No, I was just saying that."

If I really take him away, your Zhou Mingjie will start nagging again.

They said my daughter kidnapped your son.

Don't think I don't know; he's been gossiping about crickets behind my back for days. I can't let him catch me red-handed.

Yang Hongxing acted indifferently, "Hey, don't pay any attention to him, he's just a guy."

Even though the child is around him every day, he thinks she's too honest and not as lively as Xiaxia.

If he's not around, he complains that the house is too quiet; he's said all the right and wrong things imaginable.

Time flies when you live in town.

Yang Hongxing and Gu Yanliu would come to her house to keep her company as soon as they finished their business.

Help with washing and cleaning, or making soup or something.

Oh, and Gu Yanbai too; he's been staying home these days.

Anyway, their family has been very lively lately.

It feels like it hasn't been that long, and she's already finished her postpartum confinement.

Today, his family has to move back to the village.

Yang Hongxing had just closed her shop when she came to their house to help them pack up.

When it comes to moving, Gu Yanliu is the happiest person.

Now that the houses in the village have been built, she can live with her brother and sister-in-law again.

Although her eldest brother and grandfather were her blood relatives, and her sister-in-law was gentle and kind to her.

But she has been living with Gu Yanbai all these years.

Later, Su Nianxue entered the family, and the two sisters-in-law went in and out together every day.

So emotionally, she was closer to and more familiar with the couple.

Anyway, these days, she's been living in the old house, and nothing feels right.

Knowing that her brother and sister-in-law were moving back to the village today, she was so happy that she couldn't sleep all night.

With more people, things can be packed up quickly.

It's simple for adults; they only need to pack some clothes. It's the kids who have a lot of stuff.

Xiaxia's toys alone take up half the space, not to mention the addition of a smaller one.

When they arrived home, the old man had been craning his neck and looking around for quite some time.

As soon as they entered the village, the older women and aunties who lived nearby gathered around them.

While looking after the child, I tried to get closer to her.

"Yanbai's wife, you've had two kids already, how come your figure hasn't changed much? You still look like a little girl!"

"If it weren't for the baby you were holding, we would have thought you were a grown woman!"

"Look how good this child is. He'll be so handsome when he grows up."

"Speaking of which, you are so blessed. You have a son and a daughter, which makes a perfect family."

………

The aunties chatted away, and Su Nianxue's face almost stiffened from smiling.

These people used to ignore her, but now they're so enthusiastic that she's finding it hard to handle and a little uncomfortable.

At the critical moment, Gu Yanbai pushed through the crowd and rescued her.

"Gu Yanbai, those aunties are way too enthusiastic!" Su Nianxue patted her chest, still shaken.

"They are quite enthusiastic; I reckon our house will be very lively tomorrow," Gu Yanbai said with a smile.

………

Today is the day their family is holding their wedding banquet.

The baby's full moon celebration is held together with the housewarming celebration in the new house.
