When he saw the three people—one adult and two children—around the corner, the coldness on his face vanished completely, replaced by a smile.
He stood up abruptly. "Why are you all here?"
The two children quickly ran to him, one hugging one of his legs, and said in their childish voices, "Daddy, you haven't been home for so long, we missed you!"
A knowing glint flashed in Gu Yanbai's eyes as he pinched the child's cheek. "Come on, did you make Mommy angry again?"
Of course, this was said to Xiaxia. That girl is very naughty; if she doesn't get a beating every day, the sun will never set.
"No, my brother and I are very obedient." Although Xiaxia is mischievous, she is clever and can always distinguish between the king and queen.
She also knew that her father wasn't home and that no one was there to protect her.
Therefore, she was quite well-behaved during the days when Gu Yanbai was away from home.

He put one child on each side of his arms and pulled them into his embrace.

"Okay!" The two children hugged his neck tightly with their chubby little hands and answered in a clear voice.
Su Nianxue stared at him with a half-smile in her eyes, "So you still know how to come home? I thought you'd forgotten you had a home!"
Gu Yanbai shuddered and chuckled dryly, "How could that be?"
How could I not know to go home? I just had something to take care of!
You've worked so hard while I was away! When I get home, I'll do all the housework so you can rest.
He felt he hadn't done anything wrong; it was all because this woman came to him.
