Gu Yanbai scooped her up in his arms and carried her directly to the bed.
What's wrong with you?
Did you eat something unclean?
"Should I take you to the hospital to get checked out?"
Su Nianxue arched her back, clutching her lower abdomen tightly, and slowly shook her head. "It's nothing, it's just an old problem, it'll be fine in a few days."
"Um, you can go out first, I need to tidy up."
Her voice trembled slightly due to the pain.

She always seemed stubborn, as if she wanted to drive him crazy.

Gu Yanbai looked at the bowl of dark, smoky stuff that emitted a sweet, cloying aroma and asked, "What is this stuff?!"
"This is brown sugar water, which I specially made for my sister-in-law."
This is good stuff. Didn't she have a stomachache?
"Drinking this will make you feel much better." Gu Yanliu looked completely at ease.
Gu Yanbai's heavy heart finally eased a little. "Well, little girl, you know all this stuff?"
"Why don't you understand?"
My older sister taught me all of this.
"You're a grown man, stop meddling in our women's affairs."

This little girl has really started to disregard him more and more lately.
Her personality is becoming more and more like hers!
He had originally intended to tease her a bit, but upon seeing the bowl of dark, unappetizing stuff, he lost the will to do so.
Seeing him standing there motionless for a long time, Gu Yanliu asked, "Why don't you go in?"
Why don't you give it to me and I'll take it in myself?
Brown sugar water should be drunk while it's hot; it's not as effective when it cools down.
As she spoke, she reached for the bowl in his hand, but Gu Yanbai immediately raised the bowl high.
Even if she stood on tiptoe, she couldn't reach it.
"Your sister-in-law is packing! I'll take it in after she's done."
Gu Yanliu then calmed down, "Alright, once my sister-in-law has finished packing, you can take it in."
I'm going to cook now!
After a while, when he heard no more movement from inside, he pushed open the door.
Holding the bowl, she sat on the edge of the bed and said softly, "Get up and drink this bowl of brown sugar water first!"
Su Nianxue nodded; she had heard what the two of them were saying outside.
Her heart felt warm; Yanliu was truly considerate!
It seems all that pampering her these past few days wasn't for nothing.
She got out of bed, took the bowl from his hand, and gulped it down in a few mouthfuls.
Gu Yanbai's dark eyes flickered a few times, and as if possessed, he pulled her into his arms, gently rubbing her lower abdomen with his hand.
"Is this force appropriate?"
Su Nianxue was taken aback. Since their marriage, they had always been at odds with each other.
Gu Yanbai always had a sleazy, cocky demeanor, speaking to her in the loudest voice possible; the words that came out of his mouth could drive a person mad.
This was the first time she had ever heard him speak so softly.
So, he can actually speak properly!
"I'm asking you a question. Are you in so much pain that you've lost your mind?" Gu Yanbai frowned even more. Was he in so much pain that he couldn't even speak?
He touched her forehead and said, "Hmm, her temperature is a bit high. Should we go to the hospital?"
Another wave of intense pain struck, and Su Nianxue snapped back to reality. "It's...it's fine!"
His palms were warm and had just the right amount of pressure, and it felt really comfortable pressing on my stomach.
Anyway, it was much more comfortable than any of the life-or-death ordeals she had faced before.

The next day, when Su Nianxue woke up, it was already broad daylight.
She grabbed the watch from the table, checked the time, and saw it was already past seven.
She threw off the covers, jumped out of bed, and hurriedly headed out the door.
Why are you in such a panic?
"My pants are on fire!" Hearing the commotion inside, Gu Yanbai pushed open the door and walked in.
"It's so late, why didn't you wake me up?"
"I still have to go sell tofu, isn't this a delay?" she complained as she put on her shoes.
"You're in so much pain, what's the point of selling tofu?"
