"good."

Lin Jindong readily agreed to her request.

He even walked right up to her, and Jiang Fu immediately tensed up.

The man was already very tall, with his hands in his pockets, looking down at her.

This was a posture she was very familiar with; her hands were tightly clasped together, and she was trying hard to restrain herself from kneeling down out of habit.

Jiang Fu didn't like talking about this, so of course they wouldn't make things difficult for her. It was only when her attempts to escape were discovered that they would do this.

Seeing her awkward and nervous appearance, Lin Jindong simply bent down and then half-squatted in front of her, greatly reducing his aggressiveness.

At first, he was just staring at her lustrous earlobes.

She doesn't look like a Gossip Girl at all; no, she's attractive enough on her own.

The color of that knitted cardigan was very fresh and gentle, and the slip dress was also a very pure white.

Lin Jindong's gaze shifted slightly downwards, landing on the neckline of the dress. It was very white, with a smooth, rounded curve; one could imagine its insanely soft feel.

She can immediately sense danger when a man approaches.

But she seemed completely oblivious to such direct scrutiny, as if she were already used to it...

What a strange woman.

She was like a thorny and difficult case, which aroused Lin Jindong's curiosity. Similarly, he noticed that there was a ring on her slender fingers today, a simple diamond ring that showed that she was married.

Lin Jindong knew that associating with married women like this was like playing with fire, and sooner or later he would be burned to death.

But she was clearly indifferent to her husband and couldn't avoid him.

Perhaps they have already divorced, or they may be separated.

A beautiful and delicate woman like her, if she doesn't have a protector, would need a ring to subtly ward off unwanted suitors.

"I won't be able to leave work for a while, Miss Jiang. I'll have to wait for you." Lin Jindong stood up.

Jiang Fu nodded. "Then I'll go outside and wait for you."

His thin lips were pursed, and his long, sharp eyes revealed a deep blackness.

"No need, it's right here."

For the next hour or so, Lin Jindong did almost nothing. He simply flipped through the documents in his hands in front of the woman, not a single word entered his mind. Instead, he was attracted by the faint floral scent emanating from her.

"What perfume are you wearing?" he asked casually.

"Huh? I didn't..." Jiang Fu was drawing a simple sketch on her phone with her head down. Hearing him say that, she bit her lip, "I just use jasmine-scented shower gel."

How is your husband? Lin Jindong wisely refrained from asking this question.

Wasn't that the reason why their last date ended abruptly?

"My husband and I don't have a very good relationship."

To Lin Jindong's surprise, Jiang Fu took the initiative to explain to him. She tried to smile, unaware of how pure and moving that smile was. Even her voice was soft, slow, and her pronunciation was very clear.

In order to dispel Lin Jindong's concerns, Jiang Fu decided to tell some lies. "We met in high school, and I married him in college, but he often doesn't come home, and I can't see him. When I met you yesterday, I was going to see a lawyer to consult about divorce."

"Really? You signed a prenuptial agreement?" Lin Jindong looked at her, feeling a tingling sensation even in her voice.

"No." Jiang Fu shook her head.

She was forced to marry Jiang Zhao, and even the wedding was held on his private island. Only Jiang Zhao and Jiang Mingzhuo attended the wedding.

Jiang Zhao was afraid that she would meet other people, and he hated any man who got close to her. Their marriage was rarely known to outsiders.

Even the group's top executives knew that Jiang Zhao was married, but they didn't know who his wife was.

Although she felt somewhat guilty towards the impeccably dressed prosecutor in front of her, whose entire demeanor screamed "elite," Jiang Fu at that moment only wanted to find a man well-known to the public, and it would be even better if this man also had some financial resources.

She wanted to make a big fuss about the affair, and she couldn't wait for Jiang Zhao's mother to kick her out of the house.

Unable to take advantage of men of the same social class, Jiang Fu could only shift all the blame onto herself. Thinking of this, Jiang Fu rarely showed a smile that belonged to her age.

Lin Jindong was looking at her with his chin resting on his hand.

The thing he boasted about is indeed getting ready to be used.

This is a very clear sign that she has a strong reaction to him.

She noticed the man was looking at her, immediately suppressed her smile, and sat there upright.

"Miss Jiang, if you're not busy, could you help me out?" Lin Jindong put down the case file.

Jiang Fu wasn't stupid; she understood what Lin Jindong's gaze held. She only wanted to hook up with him, hoping to get some photos taken by the nosy media, but the danger emanating from the man instinctively made her somewhat timid.

"I'll wait for you outside, Prosecutor Lin." She stood up from the sofa, clearly trying to escape again, but when she got to the door, she found it was locked.

Jiang Fu turned her head away, and Lin Jindong raised an eyebrow at her.

A slow smile played on his lips as he walked toward her.

She instinctively moved closer to the door, her back pressed against the office door, her fingers unconsciously turning the lock, wanting to leave. But Lin Jindong reminded her, "If you go out with that expression, they will really misunderstand our relationship."

"What kind of expression is that...?"

Before she could finish speaking, Lin Jindong grabbed Jiang Fu's chin. He could easily restrain her with almost no effort, giving her an expression as if she had been bullied by a man.

Her delicate features furrowed, and Lin Jindong took the opportunity to grab her fingers on the doorknob, easily turning her around. She was firmly held in Lin Jindong's arms, not only retreating back to the office, but also being pressed down on the sofa by the man once again.

Lin Jindong smiled lazily, his tone extremely mischievous, "Be good, help me organize the documents, and I'll take you to the restaurant later."

He no longer intended to continue pretending.

Since it's a stray dog, it's natural to learn to eat it early to avoid other men having designs on it.

Thinking of the way his other colleagues had looked at her earlier, his eyes darkened.

She obeyed immediately. Lin Jindong handed her the materials in his hand, and she immediately lowered her head after taking them.

She was still conflicted, wanting to seduce him but also afraid to get close to him. However, she did pique his curiosity, making him unable to resist moving closer to her.

"Am I scary?" Lin Jindong suddenly asked, causing Jiang Fu to look up.

She gently shook her head. "No, I'm just not used to it. It seems like we're moving a little too fast."

Lin Jindong couldn't help himself, and a somewhat frivolous laugh escaped from his lips. He even took her hand in his, and the soft, delicate touch intensified his desire. He should indeed act like a gentleman and take her on a more conventional date, but he couldn't bring himself to do it.

"I've had feelings for you since the first time we met."

Jiang Fu hummed in agreement; she had actually noticed.

"And you."

“I…” She met the man’s slightly upturned lips and chose to be honest, “I’m also very interested in you.”

"In that case, what's wrong with skipping those redundant steps and going straight to the key part?"

Jiang Fu thought for a moment, then gently closed her eyes and chose to move closer to Lin Jindong.

His throat tightened slightly, and as he watched the woman lean in to kiss him, his eyes grew even darker, as if they were about to sink into darkness.

Lin Jindong raised his hand and cupped her cheeks. In just a few seconds, he pulled her onto his lap. Jiang Fu also instinctively wrapped her arms around his back, her slender fingers gently stroking the contours of his bulging back muscles under his shirt.

He gritted his teeth.

A subtle, almost imperceptible force is more captivating than a straightforward hook.

He pried open her lips, and the deep kiss allowed his desire to override reason. Pleasure, pleasure, and excitement thrilled Lin Jindong. He even instinctively gripped her soft, white neck, entwining it with hers, deepening the kiss. (Yue & Ge)

Until Jiang Fu let out a few sobs.

Her eyes were alluring and even more hazy. He reached out and pulled her into his arms. Jiang Fu breathed slightly and quietly nestled against him.

At this moment, Lin Jindong felt a strange emotion he had never felt before.

He never doubted his own strength.

But from childhood to adulthood, he was resentful of his identity.

He should have had the same inheritance rights as Lin Zhi'en, but his father abandoned him without hesitation, leaving him with no sense of security or trust.

But a woman he had only known for less than a day relied on him wholeheartedly, trusted him completely, and stayed in his arms.

Lin Jindong understood that this was not simply driven by lust.

Deep down, he wanted to protect her.

Her husband will definitely regret giving her up.

As for her divorce case, he knows countless lawyers who are excellent at handling marital disputes and will definitely help her get all the money and make that man go bankrupt.

-

After get off work, Lin Jindong took Jiang Fu directly to the underground parking garage.

She was sitting in the passenger seat, adjusting the hem of her skirt that had been lifted up by their earlier kiss. Her slender, long legs were exposed to his gaze, and Lin Jindong casually draped his suit jacket over her lap.

Jiang Fu turned to look at him, "Another new car?"

The light gray Bentley was relatively understated compared to the two luxury cars they had met yesterday.

"Yes, I usually drive this one." Lin Jindong gripped the steering wheel. He wasn't wearing a tie, and his shirt collar was open, revealing his sexy Adam's apple. He looked ahead, and his whole demeanor seemed to have returned to that relaxed gentlemanly state. Even his usually aggressive and sharp eyebrows and eyes had a strange sense of satisfaction.

The car entered the traffic and arrived near the Empire State Building in about half an hour.

The restaurant here is highly confidential and private, open only to relevant individuals. Without prior reservation, it is impossible to enter. It is the first choice for many political figures and celebrities. The restaurant is located on the top floor, where one can enjoy a stunning night view in early summer.

The car stopped, and Lin Jindong handed the car keys to the hotel valet and took Jiang Fu's hand.

She didn't refuse; in fact, she took the initiative and gently squeezed his hand back.

They acted like a real couple.

As Jiang Fu stepped out of the elevator, she looked around the restaurant. Lin Jindong smiled and said, "Never been here before? The food here is pretty good, and the privacy is excellent. Don't worry, your ex-husband won't find out."

"Really?" Jiang Fu was a little disappointed. She hoped to run into acquaintances here. The sooner Madam Jiang found out about her affair, the easier it would be for her to anger that noble and old-fashioned woman and be kicked out of the house.

Lin Jindong's chosen spot was right by the window. The style was very romantic, with a dark table set with exquisite tableware, and a panoramic view of the neon lights of the Empire State.

Jiang Fu got up and went to the restaurant's restroom.

She had just finished applying her peach-colored lip gloss when her phone rang. She picked it up and casually tossed her lip gloss onto the table. Jiang Fu glanced down and saw that it was Jiang Zhao calling. Perhaps it was the long-awaited act of defiance that gave her a bit of courage, and without thinking, she threw her phone into the sink.

Only when she watched her phone, which was submerged in water, gradually go black did Jiang Fu bite her lip slightly and breathe a sigh of relief.

When she looked up again, she immediately saw the man reflected in the mirror.

The other person was very tall and dressed casually. He had a face with superior bone structure and an outstanding appearance. His back was straight, and his noble demeanor told Jiang Fu about his identity. He noticed that Jiang Fu was looking at him through the mirror. He was very confident and arrogant, and he curled his lips slightly.

"!" Jiang Fu felt inexplicably nervous. She felt like prey being stared at.

Although the man's smile showed no danger, and could even be described as effortless, Jiang Fu felt as if it were a calm sea with all the dangers lurking beneath. She knew that this man's family background was probably more than just being rich.

The person gave her the feeling of an arrogance emanating from the wealthy and powerful, seemingly superior. He was outwardly polite and well-mannered, but his true nature was obvious.

She didn't even bother with the lip gloss; she just picked up her phone, turned around hastily, and brushed past the man.

Back in the restaurant, upon seeing Lin Jindong, Jiang Fu even felt a sense of security, something she hadn't experienced in a long time.

She shook her head, walked forward, smiled at Lin Jindong, and sat down opposite him.

This restaurant wasn't the most extravagant one Jiang Fu had ever been to, but she could tell that it was very private. The diners spoke softly, and most of their faces were familiar to her; she often saw them on the news.

Jiang Fu tilted her head slightly, her gaze falling on the man she had just met in the restroom. Beside him was a strikingly beautiful woman whose features bore a resemblance to Lin Jindong.

"Big Brother?" The woman saw Lin Jindong and spoke up.

Lin Jindong turned his head, a hint of displeasure flashing in his eyes, but the emotion appeared very quickly, almost in a flash.

"Are you celebrating with the mayor in advance?" Lin Jindong asked.

"I just bumped into Xie Yong on the road and came over for a meal. I didn't expect to run into you here." The woman's voice was clear and pleasant. Her gaze lingered on Jiang Fu's face, and she smiled. "Are you on a date?"

"Yes," Lin Jindong replied succinctly.

"Are you free right now? I have something I'd like to talk to you about." The woman glanced at the empty table. "It seems you can spare some time for me to have a meal before dinner."

Lin Zhi'en's tone remained gentle, "It's related to the inauguration ceremony in a few days."

It has to be said that maintaining a good relationship with the current mayor is something Lin Jindong has to do.

He resignedly got up and followed Lin Zhi'en down the corridor.

Jiang Fu could only sit there, and she unconsciously looked at the man who was staring at her without saying a word.

He seemed to be looking directly at her. Jiang Fu only felt him smile – confident, arrogant, condescending, and determined.

“Yours.” The man sat down in front of her as naturally as if he were her actual date.

The other man had a smile on his handsome face. His skin was a pampered, pale white, and his fingers were long and slender. He placed the lipstick she had left in the bathroom on the table.

Jiang Fu was a little nervous.

If she hadn't been able to recognize the man before, she now had a better understanding of his identity from the conversation between Lin Jindong and the woman.

Xie Yong will be the youngest mayor in the Empire State for the next four years.

He was leaning back lazily in his chair, the silver-gray Rolex on his wrist was particularly understated, and there were no big brands on his clothes except for this limited edition watch, which subtly revealed his background.

Seeing that Jiang Fu refused to take it, Xie Yong reached out with his left hand, picked up the lipstick, played with it for a while, and then asked, "How long have you been dating?"

The man easily takes control of the conversation.

"We...we've been dating for a while now."

"Are you satisfied with him?" He sat in his chair, legs spread wide, leaning back casually, his tone as relaxed as if he were in his own office.

Jiang Fu didn't understand his intentions at all, so she could only nod silently.

"You're married, this is infidelity." Xie Yong's low voice was very pleasant, and his gaze naturally fell on her fingers.

"I don't know what you're talking about." She refused, showing no interest and unwilling to answer the other person's question.

"Me," he said, "have you considered finding someone else to cheat with?"

Xie Yong: Unaware that he will become a mistress in the future, he is calm and confident.
