Suspicious points

Jiang Zhao showed no mercy whatsoever. I could hardly believe that the man in front of me had proposed to me just two weeks ago.

What happened with Jiang Mingzhuo's car accident? Does Jiang Mingzhuo know about my relationship with Xie Yong?

One question after another nearly made my brain explode. I realized clearly that these men were not what I thought; they were not attracted to me because of my looks.

Everyone seemed to have ulterior motives, which added to my unease and fear.

My calves were gripped so tightly by him that they turned bright red. I was so numb to the pain that I could hardly feel it. Jiang Zhao had a strong desire to control me. His palm held me in place, not letting me dodge at all. The force in his palm made it hard for me to breathe.

"You think cheating is fun, don't you?" Jiang Zhao's aggressive tone made me feel extremely scared.

Despite his impeccably tailored suits, he never wears a tie and his collar is always open. The elegant attire only barely masks his domineering and aloof nature; deep down, he remains ruthless, vicious, and violent.

Jiang Zhao held my hand and moved closer to me. I suddenly felt a chill run down my spine and was terrified.

"No, don't do this!" I cried out. Jiang Zhao paused for a moment, watching me shrink back into the car. His dark eyes were fixed on me, and even the corners of his lips, which had been slightly smiling just moments before, were now tightly pursed.

“…Come here,” Jiang Zhao said to me.

The air seemed to freeze. I looked at his outstretched hand and his tone, which was noticeably "gentler" than before, and I still didn't dare to move.

My back was pressed against the other side of the back seat of the car, and the cold touch made me shiver.

"Jiang Fu, I won't hurt you." He assured me again. I looked up and saw his dark pupils, so deep they seemed like a bottomless pool, easily drawing me in and enveloping me completely.

At this moment, he became patient, which was somewhat similar to his younger brother Jiang Mingzhuo.

Especially now that we're in an underground parking lot, the environment is incredibly dark, and I can't even vaguely tell whether the person in front of me is Jiang Zhao or Jiang Mingzhuo.

Suddenly I became alert.

I heard noises around me, and just then, a man in a trench coat opened the driver's side door. I pretended to approach Jiang Zhao, but actually cried out for help to the man: "Help..."

Jiang Zhao followed him into the car and closed the door.

His handsome face was tinged with an inscrutable anger, exuding an oppressive aura that made it hard to breathe.

“You called other men over to help you right in front of me.” Jiang Zhao’s dark eyes narrowed, and he grabbed my chin. “You’re asking for it.”

"I'd rather die than die in front of you. I feel disgusted to die in front of you!" I was so angry that I went crazy and pushed him desperately. I thought he would raise his hand to stop me, but he didn't dodge at all and let me slap him hard.

A moment later, faint palm prints appeared on his face.

I froze, staring at him.

"Behave yourself and let me finish." Jiang Zhao stared at me intently. It was completely unexpected that this proud and arrogant young master hadn't gone crazy and forced himself on me after being hit by a woman.

"What are you going to say..." I was extremely wary.

“Your mother came to me a few days ago and sold you to me, taking 80 million from me.” Jiang Zhao said coldly. “If Jiang Mingzhuo hadn’t had that accident, you might have been able to ask him for help, but unfortunately he was in a car accident and is now in a coma. You have no choice but to listen to me.”

“Jiang Zhao, what does this have to do with me? She didn’t want me as her daughter a long time ago.” I bit my lip. “I have nothing to do with her anymore either. Go ask her for that money yourself.”

“Very well,” Jiang Zhao said. “Then sell her and her son to pay me back.”

His voice was icy, and a cruel smile curled his thin lips. "Tell me, where would be better to sell them? Nightclubs, or to harvest their organs?"

“You’re insane… How could you…” My voice trembled. I had no doubt that what he said was true. He was a pervert who only liked others to bow down to him, and he never minced words, only directly invaded and deprived others.

"Give me back the money, or let her die. I'm giving you the choice." Jiang Zhao's meaning was clear: he wanted me to say those words willingly.

I hate my mother and wish I never had to see her again in this lifetime.

Every time I think about how she abandoned me without hesitation, chose to start a new family with another man, and had a child, I feel incredibly sad. She was my only relative, someone who shared even a tiny bit of blood with me, yet she treated me like trash, throwing me far away.

She pleaded with me, looking so pitiful, I almost softened...

Turning around, I was sold to Jiang Zhao.

"How am I supposed to know if what she said is true?" I asked him in a low voice.

Jiang Zhao suddenly grabbed my neck and said, "As long as I give her money, I'll do anything for you. She gave me your birth certificate, registration certificate, and the gifts left by the hospital where you were registered."

Even though his strength wasn't heavy, I still felt extremely short of breath. I held back my tears as Jiang Zhao pressed his face against mine. "Do you still think I'm meddling?"

I was speechless. I really had nothing to give him in return, and my mother, she really did seem like the kind of woman who could say such things.

Seeing that I was distraught and my eyes were dark, Jiang Zhao was about to get the car.

"Where to..." I asked, but the words trailed off as I realized how utterly pointless the question was. I had nothing to offer but his face and body, which interested him. Did I not know what he was up to?

"The hospital," Jiang Zhao replied coldly.

"I thought you were going to..." I muttered unconsciously, and he heard me.

Jiang Zhao gave a cold laugh and interrupted me, "I'm not in the mood to sleep with you right now. Let's talk about it after Jiang Mingzhuo wakes up."

I suddenly looked up at him.

The Cullinan was going extremely fast. I was sitting in the back, my body trembling involuntarily. My hair had already fallen all over my shoulders, and sweat was slowly dripping down my cheeks.

Late at night, Jiang Zhao drove his car into the Imperial Hospital.

As a man who inherited half of the Empire State, he was born with all sorts of privileges, and even in a place like a hospital, he was no exception. In the middle of the night, outside the private hospital's private ward, where every inch of space was precious, most of the doctors and professors were waiting for him at the door.

“Young Master,” one of the men spoke up, “the surgery is almost complete. Rest assured, as you and Madam arranged, the best doctors have been selected.”

"How is he?" Jiang Zhao glanced at the emergency room. The glass was one-way, and he could only vaguely see Jiang Mingzhuo on the large bed with his eyes closed, wearing a breathing mask. Apart from his pale face, he looked like he was asleep and was unusually quiet.

“It’s not good,” the man said in a low, slow voice. “The young master is seriously injured. In addition to his back, thighs, and abdomen, he has severe bleeding. We have done our best, and now we can only wait for him to wake up.”

Jiang Zhao was silent for a while, and I, standing behind him, unconsciously turned my gaze in that direction.

Seeing Jiang Mingzhuo's appearance, I felt as if I were being strangled and dared not speak.

Did I provoke him to this extent? I lowered my head, my heart pounding.

Nervous, scared, and even more embarrassed to speak.

"Xiao Zhuo, your little brother is out?"

On the other side of the corridor, a middle-aged man led a woman along. The woman wore an elegant black dress, her hair was piled high, and she had bright features. Her age was evident, but her aura was just as strong as Jiang Zhao's.

I tensed up; just from their similar faces, I could tell that this was Jiang Zhao and Jiang Mingzhuo's mother.

Mrs. Jiang walked over, her gaze not even falling on me. She went straight to Jiang Zhao's side and said, "The director said your brother is fine."

"His surgery is over, but he hasn't woken up yet," Jiang Zhao said succinctly.

Both mother and son have extremely beautiful facial features and contours, from their eyes and noses to their lips. The mother is more gentle and the son is more sharp. Chiang Chao is a head taller than his wife and has a stronger sense of arrogance.

However, they both seemed frozen by indifference, possessing an aura of coldness that kept people at a distance.

Mrs. Jiang looked at the middle-aged man, who shook his head. "Mrs. Jiang, we will do our best, but we cannot guarantee when the young master will wake up."

A fleeting softening appeared on the woman's face. She lowered her head, suppressing her maternal emotions. A few seconds later, she regained her aloof demeanor. "I know. You've all worked hard today. Go and rest. If Mingzhuo wakes up, you can come over immediately."

"Yes, we understand." The dean and the other doctors bowed and left quietly.

I was the only one left in the corridor.

Mrs. Jiang's gaze lingered on my face for a moment before she asked, "Xiao Zhao, who is this girl?"

“She’s Mingzhuo’s girlfriend.” Jiang Zhao remained expressionless. “She should come and see.”

"Hmm, Mingzhuo seems to have mentioned you." Mrs. Jiang didn't seem to care what I called her. "Look up, let me see you."

I gently raised my face, and the air seemed to freeze for a moment. Mrs. Jiang's eyes showed a complex expression, with disgust, resistance, and a fleeting sympathy.

"Xiao Zhao, how could it be her?" Mrs. Jiang's words were somewhat aggressive.

Jiang Zhao didn't explain, but simply told her to leave: "You should rest, Mom. I'll have the driver take you home."

Mrs. Jiang glanced at me again.

He left indifferently.

I kept my head down. I wasn't unaware that the other person disliked me, but there was something strange about their conversation. I even had a vague feeling that Mrs. Jiang seemed to know me...

But I have never seen her.

The entire ward corridor fell silent once again.

I stared blankly at the unconscious Jiang Mingzhuo, remembering the words I hadn't uttered when we met until our parting today: "Let's break up." I began to regret it; I shouldn't have provoked Xie Yong because of that strange dream.

He loves me, but his love is like an impenetrable vine, or a gorgeous gilded cage. No matter how carefully he tries to disguise it, the occasional glimpses of his morbidity and madness make me feel suffocated.

My fingers had unconsciously touched the glass. I admit, his every move was very attractive to me. If he could continue to be so gentle and considerate, I even had the thought of marrying him after graduation...

In that instant, the man lying on the hospital bed in front of me slowly changed in my eyes, turning into another blurry figure.

I even saw myself kneeling before that man's bed, trying my best to suppress the pain. I could vaguely sense that I loved that man, not Jiang Mingzhuo.

"...!" I suddenly snapped awake. My vision gradually focused, and I could only see the medicine slowly flowing into the needle tube and then into Jiang Mingzhuo's hand. His skin was slightly swollen from the long injection.

"If you're worried about him, you shouldn't have gone out with Xie Yong." A hand reached out and forcefully blocked my view.

Only then did I belatedly look up at the man. Jiang Zhao hadn't left; he had stayed by my side.

Seeing that I was staring intently at the ward, he said coldly, "There's nothing to see."

I shook my head and asked him, "Did you see that? Me and Xie Yong..."

"I don't need to see it, I know it's him." Jiang Zhao's deep voice fell heavily in my ear, equally cold, and with a subtle hint of anger.

I was only wearing the shirt and A-line skirt that I usually wear when I work part-time at the store, but now I felt the corridor was so cold that I couldn't help but shiver.

A jacket, still warm from the man's body, landed on my shoulder. I looked at him and immediately backed away, the jacket falling straight to the ground.

Jiang Zhao frowned in displeasure.

He seemed to really dislike my conditioned reflex of being afraid of him and resisting him.

It was only then that I realized what had happened and wanted to apologize, but it was too late.

Jiang Zhao's pride and arrogance wouldn't allow anyone to refuse him like that. He grabbed my shoulders, forcing me to look him in the eye. My eyes slowly reddened uncontrollably. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to."

"You like to cry? Then I'll let you cry your fill." Jiang Zhao's handsome face was cold and stern, and his words sent chills down one's spine.

He pushed me into Jiang Mingzhuo's ward.

The most luxurious single rooms are usually suites, with a room for the patient to rest and a separate bedroom for family members. Like a presidential suite in a five-star hotel, there was a large bed, which made me even more frightened.

Beside Jiang Mingzhuo? I can't believe Jiang Zhao could be so depraved.

I was unwilling to obey at all. He forcefully pushed me onto the bed, and I struggled to get up, panting as I looked at him.

He rubbed my chin with his fingers, and the black watch on his wrist made my chin feel extremely uncomfortable. I turned my head away, and Jiang Zhao's knuckles began to tighten, wrapping around me. "Still want to cry?"

"..." I bit my lip.

Seeing that I looked uncomfortable, Jiang Zhao looked down at me for a few seconds.

After a moment, he slowly took off the watch and placed it aside.

"What...do you take me for?" I forced myself to say. "There are many women prettier than me. Wouldn't it be better to find one who will obey you wholeheartedly?"

"You are my wife," Jiang Zhao said, lowering his eyes. "You can only marry me."

The man in front of me was tall and imposing, his black shirt was neatly pressed, and his Adam's apple was sharp at the open collar.

His slender waist was cinched with a leather belt, making him look strong and powerful.

At this moment, he stood in front of me, and when I looked up, I was facing that terrifying and sexy monster. I couldn't help but feel afraid. I looked away, but Jiang Zhao forcefully turned my face back to him. "Speak."

I refused to speak. Jiang Zhao's expression turned cold for a moment, then a mocking smile curled his thin lips: "I'm asking you to speak, and you're unwilling?"

"I think you're so hungry you can't stand it, that's why you can't open your mouth."

[Author's Note]

Jiang Mingzhuo is temporarily offline and should be asleep for at least chapter 15. I'll speed things up a bit. Actually, I also feel that this part of the plot is a bit like being trapped in a maze, it's a bit depressing and painful, but it's almost time for Xiao Fu to remember everything.

She is currently in a state of complete amnesia, which can be considered the initial state of the "original female protagonist" in the game. She likes to rely on people and acts entirely on her physical instincts. There are some suspicions, but not many. You can think of the movie The Truman Show. From the third playthrough onwards, or even earlier, Xiao Fu has been living under Jiang Mingzhuo's watchful eye. In this playthrough, she is under the surveillance of even more people, including Lin Zhi'en, Ye Fenglin, Jiang Zhao, and Xie Yong. She only feels strange. Unless a major bug appears in the world one day (which I will write about shortly), how could she realize that there is a problem with her world?

It takes the appearance of Lin Zhi'en and Yu Xu for Xiao Fu to remember.

Also, some people in the previous chapters asked why Jiang Zhao didn't regret it even after seeing Xiao Fu die. Actually, he did regret it, but he's probably still prone to jealousy and acting crazy.

As mentioned before, these people's personalities won't change much; they'll just remain competitive. However, this isn't the kind of jealousy or rivalry; it's the kind where they're ruthless. For example, Ye Fenglin was almost killed in the last playthrough, and Jiang Mingzhuo and Xie Yong are in the same situation this playthrough. In any case, people are frequently found lying in the hospital.

Thank you all for your support, I am truly very grateful.
