Chapter 96 Distribution

Chapter 96 Distribution

I'm willing to pay to be a mistress, don't you want that?

Goods distribution

The next day, my body felt as if it had been run over by a speeding truck. I struggled to turn over, my eyelids drooping as usual, until I saw the notification in my phone's memo app.

I should go to the art museum now. But before that, I need to convince my model.

Besides the notifications, my phone displayed an endless list of missed calls, and my battery was also low, but I knew exactly who was calling me.

"I'll wait for you to come back and give me an explanation." Jiang Zhao's last message was a blatant threat, and I even knew what he was going to do to me.

Since I'm going to be punished by him anyway, I might as well wait until I make a big scene.

I was no longer sleepy, and I could vaguely smell that wonderful aroma of food in the air. I got up, put on my slippers, and went outside. There I found Lin Jindong, dressed casually in a T-shirt and sweatpants, lazily making breakfast in the semi-open kitchen.

His hair, less styled with hair gel, fell softly, less aggressive than usual, giving him the air of a gentle, domestic man. His silhouette was elegant and composed.

If it weren't for Lin Jindong's excessively nasty personality last night, I might have actually been moved by his appearance.

He made me hold onto my own legs, and I swayed back and forth, like a boat being violently battered by waves.

Just thinking about it makes my ankle, which he grabbed, start to ache.

I am not the kind of woman who indulges in unrestrained behavior. At this moment, I am extremely calm. No matter how strong, sexy, and powerful Lin Jindong's body is, it will not make me lose my temper.

I'm focusing my attention on the design of the kitchen and living room for now.

The entire room was a cold, mature gray-black, with sharp, angular lines that surprisingly suited the man in front of him. There was even a bar counter on the other side of the living room near the window.

"Occasionally, I'll dabble in bartending there."

Lin Jindong's voice rang out above me, and I quickly looked up. He turned his head slightly to look at me. Exquisite tableware had already been set on the table, with vegetable salad, chicken sandwiches, egg rolls, and cranberry juice.

I looked at the breakfast on the table and showed a "surprised" expression. "You can actually cook, Prosecutor Lin."

"I've basically lived outside since I can remember," Lin Jindong explained casually.

"Then why don't you go home?" I was a little confused, but I quickly noticed that this question made Lin Jindong's expression turn very unpleasant.

He seemed particularly averse to this topic, and was even unwilling to give me a simple, perfunctory answer, merely glossing over it as if it were nothing.

"Try it," he suggested.

I took a bite. Although I didn't really like this kind of breakfast, which was like hay in this state of extreme self-discipline, I still ate slowly, trying to make it look like I liked it. As it turned out, Lin Jindong took my slow eating as proof that he liked it.

I ate in silence, and Lin Jindong looked at me like that. He raised an eyebrow and asked, "What is our relationship now?"

"?" I felt as if his gaze was tangible, almost as if he could see right through me.

What kind of relationship? Dating partner? Boyfriend? Friend with benefits? Or...?

Lin Jindong had a faint smile on his lips, but his eyes were full of inquiry. I felt like a guilty criminal sitting in front of him, and he never trusted me.

“Yes…” I remembered my purpose, and my eyelashes slowly drooped. “I would like to ask you to be my model. Let’s consider the rest based on that, okay?”

"A model?" Lin Jindong, who was probably twenty-six years old, had never heard such a strange request before, and he frowned slightly.

I decided to be frank and say, "I'm going to participate in an art exhibition soon, and I hope my paintings will sell. But I've mostly painted landscapes before, and I need to paint more popular portraits. Ever since the day you saved me, you've been the only man on my mind."

After I finished speaking, my cheeks even felt hot, not from shyness, but from shame.

When did I become such a habitual liar? My heart was pounding, but I boldly got up and moved closer to Lin Jindong. I was only wearing his shirt, so I sat on his lap and hooked my arms around his neck.

"Actually, I don't want to admit it, Lin Jindong. But... I really can't refuse a man who saved me from under the car..." I crossed my hands behind his neck, and my fingers boldly stroked the back of his neck, feeling its burning heat.

Lin Jindong smiled and pulled my hand away.

His gaze met mine directly, and without the slightest hesitation, he grabbed my waist.

The man had large, slender, bony, strong, and beautiful hands. However, these hands were not very well-behaved or proper. He moved the hand that was holding my waist down a little and suddenly slapped my buttocks with a bit of force.

My face turned bright red.

"What do you want to draw about me, little sister?" He swallowed hard, looked down at me, and his low, husky voice revealed a hint of impatience.

Naturally, he carried me back to the bedroom. Fortunately, Lin Jindong didn't have many new tricks up his sleeve; he just teased me with his hands, then pulled away and kissed my lips.

I asked Lin Jindong to take me to the art museum. Before he left, he pinched my cheek and said, "I'll pick you up after get off work. I want to see how you're going to paint me."

I hummed in agreement and smiled.

Inside the art museum, I could still see some students helping out. I was about to go with them when suddenly the person in charge called me over and directed me to the sculpture exhibition hall next door.

I was a little curious, but I still walked along the romantically designed corridor to the other side. The water flowing down from the ceiling was delicate and beautiful, and the water droplets floating in the air seemed to be sparkling. I approached the sculpture gallery's studio.

There stood a huge marble slab, barely begun to be carved, its shape still unrecognizable. Standing before it was a woman wearing a dark gray apron, her curly hair tied in a low ponytail, her black hair like soft satin. She was wearing gloves and bending over, roughly carving with a chisel.

I could tell that she was the owner of this art museum.

As I approached, the woman who had been facing away from me turned around, looked me up and down, and smiled. "You're just like me from before."

The woman was a bit older than me, probably in her thirties. She was very beautiful, with a pair of bright, expressive eyes. I could tell she had had some cosmetic surgery, but it didn't detract from her overall beauty. Moreover, although she was dressed modestly, the two diamonds sparkling in her ears hinted at her wealthy and influential status.

"Miss Gu," I greeted her.

The woman looked at me again and sighed, "Seeing how hard the younger students are working, I also want to create a piece to show off. But I graduated many years ago, and my sculpting skills have become rusty. Would you be willing to collaborate with me to complete this sculpture?"

I have learned some about Gu Yu's background.

She came from a very ordinary background, just a typical girl from a small town a few dozen kilometers from the Empire State. After graduating from university, she pursued her dreams by first working in the field of connoisseurship, then breaking into wealthy circles, marrying her husband who is almost a decade older than her, and having a taciturn son.

Although nominally a collector, the other party wielded considerable influence in numerous private hospitals. Wanting to keep the wealth within the family, he naturally sought to groom his son into a future medical professor, ensuring he could inherit this immense power and fortune.

“But my sculpture skills aren’t particularly good,” I said, looking at Gu Yu, “If you think I could…”

This is also an opportunity for me, and I must seize it.

A flash of admiration crossed her eyes. "Jiang Fu, you're just as smart as I imagined."

Gu Yu instructed his assistant to hand over the design drawings for the sculpture. The enormous piece was to be crafted into a smooth, classical goddess statue. Goddesses are always sacred and pure, and the finest pure white marble possesses the best translucency, allowing light to filter through and reflect a soft glow.

Once completed, this sculpture would be best placed in the very center of the exhibition hall.

I also picked up a chisel and a carving knife.

"Jiang Fu, what is your relationship with Xu Ya?"

Just as I was standing on tiptoe to sketch the outline, Gu Yu suddenly spoke.

"...We've met before at a party."

"Really? Just this once?"

I couldn't help but turn my head. Her tone was a little strange. If she chose me to collaborate with her on the project because of my close relationship with her stepson, how should I answer her?

She noticed my gaze, smiled slightly, and then subtly explained, "Xu Ya and I don't get along. If he really likes you, it would be great if you could put in a good word for me in front of him."

Gu Yu smiled and said, "I know that most people think I just took a shortcut, including my son Xu Ya."

I felt it was inappropriate to interfere in other people's family affairs, so I nodded silently. Gu Yu smiled and stopped talking, focusing on teaching me about the sculpture.

It's clear that although she's visibly nourished by money, her professional skills are excessively strong, her speed is incredibly fast, and her strength in her hands is also excessively great.

"Don't look at me like that. The reason I can stay by his side is because I'm different from those wives who only care about their families. My art museum and myself are always his assets to show off to other men," Gu Yu said calmly.

We finally breathed a sigh of relief as evening approached.

The enormous sculpture is only in its initial outline, and with the opening date fast approaching, we must hurry.

Gu Yu removed the headband, took off her dusty apron, and put on her beautiful, softly colored cashmere coat. She picked up her Birkin bag and, escorted by her assistant, went home. Before leaving, she politely asked me, "Do you need me to take you home?"

"No, thank you." I saw the dark gray Bentley in the distance and smiled politely. "Someone's here to pick me up."

I initially thought the person in the car was Lin Jindong.

The car stopped in front of me. I opened the door, and a furry little thing jumped into my arms. I instinctively stepped back. Two small dogs, a Samoyed and a Bernese Mountain Dog, appeared one after the other. The pure white Samoyed, in particular, had its brows furrowed and kept making "woofing" sounds.

"Bruce!" I was overjoyed; I never expected it to appear.

"Woof! Woof woof woof!" The little dog smiled too.

I smiled and ruffled it, then instinctively said, "Xie Yong. You..."

"It's me."

The driver's side window rolled down, revealing a man wearing a short, crisp jacket. His bangs were slightly messy, and he had handsome, refined features. He wore a Cartier ring on his hand and a Patek Philippe watch on his wrist. I had seen him several times, and I had never seen him wear the same clothes twice.

Ye Fenglin laughed, "Brother Yong is still under house arrest and won't be out for a while. Now it's my turn to ask you out. Would you give me a chance?"

I was a little hesitant at first, but Ye Fenglin got out of the car briskly. He looked at the two dogs surrounding me and the corners of his mouth turned up slightly: "Or, you can at least play with them for a while, especially Bruce."

As if to prove Ye Fenglin's words, the puppy whimpered pitifully.

"Don't rush to reject me," Ye Fenglin also came over and patted the Samoyed and Bern Mountain on the head, then walked towards the back of the car. He gestured for me to look over, and I was a little curious.

As I got closer, I saw a large bouquet of vibrant pink lychee roses inside the car, with a dark black gift box on top of the bouquet.

“Like my Patek Philippe, this watch holds its value very well. Even if you get tired of it someday, you can sell it anytime.” Seeing that I didn’t move, Ye Fenglin opened the box and revealed a pure silver diamond-encrusted wristwatch.

He smiled and, seeing that I was unwilling to move, took the initiative to walk over and lift my wrist.

"Jiang Fu, I just want to spend time with you while Yong Ge can't see you. I'm willing to spend money to be your mistress, don't you want that?"

[Author's Note]

Ah, this chapter isn't finished, so I'll have to continue in the next chapter. Originally, it was about Ye Fenglin and Xie Yong having a little showdown, but Ye Fenglin achieved a partial victory, gaining the status of the fourth party. We'll continue tomorrow.

The third playthrough will likely have about 15-20 chapters left to finish. After that, the tentatively planned side stories will focus on an "if" route, featuring Xiao Fu after her marriage to Jiang Zhao, as well as other characters, for about 4-5 chapters. Then there will be some "if" storylines that I originally planned, with a darker, more gritty feel.
