I couldn't understand what Ye Fenglin was thinking, and I was even more afraid that he wouldn't keep his promise, so I looked at him warily and typed a message to him.
"If I do it, will you continue to keep our agreement?"
Ye Fenglin suddenly smiled, a hint of malice in his voice, "Do you have a choice?"
I was taken aback for a moment, then anxiously asked, "When should I go?"
"I'll message you." He raised an eyebrow, gesturing for me to add him as a friend and be ready to follow his orders at any time.
Before I could ask for his assurances again, I heard two barks, and a Samoyed with bright eyes appeared at the bottom of the stairs. It was wagging its tail happily, and its owner was right beside it. Xie Yong looked like he had finished his phone call and was about to come downstairs.
Ye Fenglin raised the corners of his lips and said loudly, "Brother Yong, I'm going home."
As he was leaving, he glanced at me and mouthed, "The lawyer told me he's found a new lead regarding your boyfriend's alibi..."
I stared wide-eyed, but Ye Fenglin waved and left.
This person, knowing full well how worried I am about Yu Xu, still leaves me hanging, only saying half the story. He's really wicked and excessively malicious.
"Woof!" The Samoyed had already rushed to my feet, barking and tugging at my coat with its little paws, eager for me to play with it.
Xie Yong walked up to me, looked at the overly enthusiastic little dog, and smiled, "Why does it like you so much?"
Seeing that we were both standing still and no one was there to keep it company, the puppy circled around us. Xie Yong squatted down, found the little green ball that the puppy was playing with, threw it out, and then sat on the sofa, waiting for the puppy to retrieve it. He then patted the puppy's head and said, "Good boy, Bruce."
Xie Yong, playing with the puppy, looked like a complete teenager, a stark contrast to his usual arrogant demeanor.
He was having fun with the Samoyed, but I was oblivious. I was gripping my phone tightly, afraid of missing any news from Ye Fenglin. Xie Yong seemed to say something, but I didn't hear it.
"Jiang Fu." Xie Yong called my name, and I groggily looked up. He noticed that I kept looking down at my phone and raised his eyelids slightly: "Is something wrong?"
I shook my head. You see, Ye Fenglin had just told me that this meeting couldn't be discovered. I sat down next to Xie Yong, reached out and stroked the Samoyed's fluffy, soft head, trying my best not to let Xie Yong notice anything amiss.
Do you want to know where Bruce came from?
"..." I looked at him with a curious expression.
"It must have been Lin Zhi'en who gave it to him," I thought, but Xie Yong seemed to have guessed my thought perfectly. His face turned cold. "No, it wasn't Zhi'en. I found it. Last winter, its owner abandoned it outside, shivering with cold. I didn't want it to die like that."
I was a little dazed, and suddenly I remembered the little dog I had adopted that had been bitten to death, and I couldn't help but clench the Samoyed's little paws tightly.
After a while, Xie Yong asked me, "Jiang Fu, why do you like me?"
His voice was lowered, and for some reason, it lacked coldness and became more gentle.
I didn't know how to answer, or rather, I was really glad that I couldn't speak, so that even if I was silent, it wouldn't be too awkward. But Xie Yong seemed to have misunderstood me. In front of the puppy, he hugged me in his arms.
“It’s okay, I know what you’re worried about, but I’m not like the people you’re thinking of, so you don’t need to be afraid of me.” His eyes were filled with laughter, and his tone was surprisingly gentle. Meeting my gaze, he lowered his head and kissed me on the lips again.
Perhaps because I wasn't as resistant as the previous two times, Xie Yong deepened the kiss while I was still in a daze, his movements patient and gentle. He chuckled softly in my ear, "You were so bold when you seduced me, are you scared now?"
He tried to pry open my jaw, and I looked down and saw my phone screen light up.
There are only two words.
come over.
Unable to control my racing heart, I pushed Xie Yong away. He looked incredulous. The dim light cast a shadow under his eyelashes. The little dog that had been lying next to the sofa seemed to sense its owner's irritation and whimpered twice in unease.
“I just remembered, I left something in the car.” I looked at Xie Yong and typed to him, “My lipstick and my little mirror fell into the car, I need to go get them.”
The reason was lame, but I had no other choice. Xie Yong looked at me calmly, and I was so anxious that I was sweating. I had no choice but to go over and kiss his cheek. I had no other option but to clumsily tell him that I had really lost something and that I would be there in a little while.
Xie Yong put his arm around me and said, "Then I'll go to the garage with you."
How can this be! If Ye Fenglin finds out, our deal is off.
Before leaving, Ye Fenglin said he had obtained evidence related to the car accident, which was very important as it concerned whether Yu Xu could be exonerated.
I was really afraid that the capricious man would lose patience and end our deal on his own. I gritted my teeth, thinking of when I had tried to please Jiang Mingzhuo and Jiang Zhao before. My kisses gradually moved downwards, from Xie Yong's cheek to his Adam's apple.
His skin was a pale, almost translucent white, with faint bluish veins on his neck and a prominent Adam's apple, giving him an air of sophistication.
I tentatively succumbed to the sweetness there, and Xie Yong couldn't control himself. He pinched my waist, punished me by biting my earlobe, and held it in his mouth, which was very ambiguous.
I then reached out and put my hand on his shoulder, and cautiously made another request.
This time, Xie Yong unlocked my access, and I entered the elevator. After confirming that I had reached the ground floor, I immediately took another private elevator as requested by Ye Fenglin. The floor wasn't very high, but I was extremely tense, and every second felt like an eternity.
Inside the luxurious and spacious elevator, only my own panting breath could be heard. The elevator doors opened as scheduled, and Ye Fenglin remained calm and composed.
Seeing my pitiful appearance, he probably found it quite amusing and chuckled, "I'm really curious, how did you manage to convince Brother Yong to come out?"
"..." I was too lazy to answer, I just stared at him and handed him my phone.
"What exactly is the new evidence regarding Yu Xu?" He read it out word by word, and it was that familiar, hearty laugh again. Ye Fenglin nodded slightly. He had a high nose bridge, and the lines from his forehead to his chin were handsome and delicate. His lips were thin, and although he was smiling, there was an inexplicable sense of sarcasm about it.
He twitched his lips slightly. "Come in first, I have something for you to do."
Ye Fenglin's apartment, with its decorations and furnishings, perfectly mirrors his style, exuding an extreme sense of fashion.
The gleaming front door, the unique cloud-shaped chandelier on the ceiling, the bright floor-to-ceiling windows, and the luxurious modern decor.
I walked behind Ye Fenglin, looking at the things on the expensive black marble table. It should be a jigsaw puzzle, but the owner obviously didn't have that much patience. He only played with the puzzle for a while, probably because there were too many pieces and he got tired of it. It had no rough outline and was just thrown haphazardly on the table.
"What do you want me to do?" I gestured.
“In a few days it will be the premiere of Zhi En’s ballet, and I want to give it to Zhi En as a gift.” Ye Fenglin’s words sounded calm and to the point, but I could still sense the oppressive feeling hidden in the shadows.
I understood his request, my back stiffening as I stood still. I picked up my phone and asked him, "After you finish writing this, will you give me the latest evidence of the car accident?"
"It depends on my mood," Ye Fenglin raised an eyebrow, his voice carrying just the right amount of arrogance and mockery, "or you can try to finish even faster."
I was completely under his control, so I stopped wasting time and started studying the puzzle. My major happens to require a high level of color accuracy, so after observing it for a while, I gathered the puzzle pieces together and categorized them according to the lightness or darkness of the colors. My eyes lit up, and I started to get a feel for it, so I worked faster.
The phone was on the table. Ye Fenglin stared at the caller ID and casually reminded me, "Brother Yong is in such a hurry to call you, it seems you'd better hurry up."
I glanced at it, a little surprised. It turned out that the stranger who had been calling me all day and trying to add me as a friend was Xie Yong. After a brief moment of surprise, I continued to work on the puzzle. As the top piece began to take shape, I couldn't help but smile.
Ye Fenglin was idly resting his chin on his hand, but I noticed that his gaze lingered on my face and never left.
The top left corner was starting to take shape, so I sped up and continued to piece it together. But my long hair kept slipping down, so I had to stop and tuck it behind my ears. I don't know if it was because I was in a hurry, but the room temperature was getting higher and higher, and I was getting a little hot, so I had to take off my coat and put it aside, and come back to continue.
Seeing that the beautiful and exquisite puzzle, which resembled a rainbow, was almost complete, I was overjoyed. I looked up slightly, and my long, curly hair fell from my shoulders. Before I could even lift it, the person next to me had already gathered my hair up for me.
At such close range, I could even see myself reflected in Ye Fenglin's eyes.
Her long, black, curly hair clung to her fair cheeks, looking slightly disheveled. She was busy and hot, her cheeks flushed, and her eyelashes trembled restlessly.
"Xie Yong is urging me so hard, my phone's almost dead." He smiled with satisfaction. "How much longer?"
I didn't speak to him and finished the last piece of the puzzle. Just as I expected, the rainbow-colored glass-like puzzle shimmered under the light. I bit my lip and looked at Ye Fenglin. There was no joy or surprise on his face. He simply lifted his eyelids slightly and said, "The lawyer will contact you tomorrow."
The tension that had been building in my mind suddenly eased. I smiled slightly, thanked him, and prepared to go home.
As the elevator slowly descended, the smile that had just appeared on my lips because of my narrow escape gradually froze when I saw the caller ID. I had completely forgotten about Xie Yong!
With a ding, I arrived at the entrance of the apartment. There was a soft, curved wooden wall, an emerald green information desk, and a security guard on duty 24 hours a day. He wasn't surprised to see me, but politely nodded slightly.
I pulled my coat tighter and went out to go home. When I saw who was standing outside the door, I didn't dare to breathe, and my palms curled into a faint smile until he noticed me.
Xie Yong's face was frighteningly cold as he walked straight toward me, a shadow looming over me.
I took a few steps back, and he grabbed me. I struggled in vain for a moment, and then gave up.
"Where have you been?" he asked.
I lowered my head, feeling uneasy under the man's gaze. I took out my phone, only to find it was out of battery, and gave up trying to explain.
Xie Yong noticed my predicament and extended his hand to me.
I hesitated, then wrote a few words in his palm, "I was just scared, so I went to buy some things..."
"What did you buy?" he laughed angrily. "Condoms? You think I'd sleep with you without any protection?"
Seeing that he didn't believe me, I gritted my teeth and wrote down that word.
"sugar."
Xie Yong's eyes gradually darkened as he looked at me.
“I don’t like the smell of smoke,” I wrote carefully in his palm, “so next time you want to smoke, how about eating candy instead?”
