Chapter 195: Her Secret

Chapter 195: Her Secret

Perhaps numbed by the alcohol, Liao Jiayan's eyes became erratic. She placed her fingers lightly on the bottle and whispered, "Can I hear your story in exchange for this wine tonight?"

"I'm afraid that telling you will scare you." Meng Chuyuan's lips curled up slightly, with a faint smile in her eyes. Her smile was obviously very gentle, but it made people feel distressed.

"You said I'm not afraid." Liao Jiayan forced herself to keep her blurry and sleepy eyes open, and with the little consciousness she had left, she looked at Meng Chuyuan firmly.

Seeing Liao Jiayan's persistence, Meng Chuyuan simply summarized: "I am an orphan, and the grandmother who raised me is not my biological grandmother."

Liao Jiayan, who didn't wait for the next words, looked at her with some dissatisfaction: "That's all?"

Meng Chuyuan smiled and passed it off: "No more."

"It's boring... Your story is not scary at all..." Liao Jiayan muttered to herself, and soon she lay down on the table and slowly closed her eyes.

Liao Jiayan fell down drunk and completely lost consciousness. She couldn't be woken up no matter what. However, Meng Chuyuan was still awake. The previous topic had not yet passed her mind and directly affected her current mood.

Meng Chuyuan opened another can of beer and instinctively moved closer to Liao Jiayan to clink their glasses. He lowered his eyes, staring at her sleepy profile and said, "I suddenly changed my mind. I want to trade my story for a beer."

She knew that Liao Jiayan definitely couldn't hear it at the moment, and it just so happened that the matter had been hidden in her heart for many years. Even in front of Lu Qingye, she had never told him the truth.

Meng Chuyuan first took a sip of wine to gather her emotions. She tried to speak several times but held it back. Only after she finished half a bottle of wine did she finally speak with courage: "My father is deaf-mute, and my mother has mental problems. In the eyes of others, they are both not normal people."

She had never seen her father. She heard from the villagers that her father was killed in a mudslide. Because the location where he fell was remote, he was unable to call for help and missed the chance to be rescued.

Her mother suffered from mental illness and often exhibited extreme behaviors. The villagers called her a lunatic. Later, her condition became more and more serious. The villagers were worried that her mother would harm innocent people, so they did not allow her to go out and discussed sending her out of the village.

Meng Chuyuan has a very vague impression of her mother. At that time, Meng Chuyuan was young and had just started to remember things. Her mother was crazy and would even snatch candy from her.

Later, her mother was trapped at home. While waiting for someone to send her out, she secretly ran away and did not return home for several days. Then she heard the news that she had fallen into the river and died.

Meng Chuyuan sighed softly and added, "It was a grandmother next door who adopted me. She insisted on bringing food to me and my mother every day. I naively thought she was my real grandmother."

After his mother passed away, Meng Chuyuan lived completely with his grandmother.

Born in that kind of family, the villagers inevitably looked at her with tinted glasses. Children of the same age as Meng Chuyuan kept saying in front of her that she was the daughter of a lunatic.

I was young and ignorant at that time, and this labeling behavior seemed to emphasize that she was crazy at every moment.

Because of this incident, Meng Chuyuan had an argument with several children of the same age. One of the neighbor children fell and scraped his knee during the quarrel. The parents brought villagers to the door to ask for an explanation that day. Everyone thought that she might have inherited her mother's mental illness and wanted to send her away.

It was not until that time that her grandmother protected her and would rather offend everyone than let them take Meng Chuyuan away. During that argument, Meng Chuyuan learned the truth of the matter. It turned out that the person she had always called grandma was not her biological grandmother.

"Grandma said I'm a normal child. Mom's mental illness was caused by the shock after my dad passed away. It's not hereditary." Meng Chuyuan's eyes were filled with tears. Hot tears silently slid down her cheeks. Her voice became a little unclear: "But among the calls of little crazy, I don't even know if I'm crazy or not."

She didn't know whether her grandmother's words were true or just to coax her, so she didn't dare to define herself, let alone guarantee that she would become like her mother one day.

Meng Chuyuan's eyes were red as she crushed the can in her palm and held it tightly. "They don't like me, they can't tolerate me, they wanted to lock me up at home and not let me go out... After my grandmother passed away, I ran away, desperately, and I swore I would never go back there again."

She has been smart and sensible since she was a child, and her mind is more mature than other children of the same age. No one taught her how to behave in society.

Growing up in such a family and environment, she had some resentment in her heart.

I didn't do anything but was excluded for no reason.

Later she learned to accept it.

If you can't change what happened, just accept it.

Let go of it with yourself.

Whether you are sick or not, live the rest of your life well first.

Meng Chuyuan was holding the jar of wine with half a bottle left in her hand. After she squeezed it flat, yellow liquid flowed out of the bottle mouth, overflowing onto her hands and wetting her sleeves.

Suddenly at this moment, a faint shadow suddenly fell on her head and leaned down, and a faint smell of hormones mixed in the air.

Meng Chuyuan raised her tearful eyes and saw a familiar face appear before her. She was startled: "Why are you here?"

"Doesn't your hand hurt?"

Lu Qingye bent over, his eyes level with hers, then suddenly lowered his eyes. He took out his hand from his trouser pocket, placed it on the back of Meng Chuyuan's hand, slowly pried open her fingers, and took out the deformed can.

He took a piece of paper and helped Meng Chuyuan wipe his hands clean.

Meng Chuyuan kept staring at him, trying to read something from his face, but Lu Qingye was a man who never showed his emotions.

"When did you show up?" Meng Chuyuan was really shocked by his sudden appearance.

"Is this important?" Lu Qingye put the tissue ball on the table, looked up at the tear marks on her face, and said slowly: "Or do you not want me to show up at some point?"

She lowered her eyes, deliberately avoiding Lu Qingye's sight, and said softly, "No."

It's just that she was not mentally prepared to let others know those things.

Before coming out, Meng Chuyuan told him that she was going to have a midnight snack, but she didn't come back for a long time and didn't answer the phone. Then Lu Qingye followed her phone location and found her.

He arrived when Liao Jiayan lay down. He originally wanted to come up and ask Meng Chuyuan to go home, but he accidentally heard her say that she wanted to tell a story, so he stood behind Meng Chuyuan and listened to the whole process.

Meng Chuyuan blinked, squeezed out the tears in his eyes, and regained his normal vision.

Her pupils were slightly surprised, and she pretended to be calm and said, "Did you hear everything?"

Lu Qingye raised his hand, and with his slightly warm fingers, he wiped the tears from her eyelids: "I am yours, what are you afraid of?"
