Chapter 412: Goodnight Kiss
He lowered his head to look at Meng Chuyuan's sleeping face, traced her outline with his eyes, and reached out to brush away the fine hair on her cheek.
The hair brushed gently across Meng Chuyuan's face. She probably felt a little itchy, so she unconsciously pulled her hand out from under the quilt, scratched her face lightly, and went back to sleep quietly.
Seeing her scratching her face just now, Lu Qingye's mouth corners unconsciously curled up into a smile, and tenderness also quietly spread between his eyebrows. Then he stuffed her exposed hand back into the quilt and covered her again.
Lu Qingye came back after taking a shower and changing his clothes. He carefully lifted the quilt, his movements slow and his limbs as stiff as a robot.
Because the mattress was soft, Lu Qingye was worried that he would make too much noise and disturb her.
Lu Qingye lay down smoothly and relaxed completely. Before covering himself with the quilt, he freed one hand and was about to turn off the light.
Suddenly at this moment, Meng Chuyuan turned over slightly. She seemed to have sensed Lu Qingye's presence in her sleep and took the initiative to move closer.
Meng Chuyuan opened his eyes, but his eyelids seemed heavy from sleepiness, so he only kept them open for a short while before he could see anything clearly. A smile appeared on the corner of his lips, and he said drowsily, "You're back?"
After saying this, Meng Chuyuan curled up in the quilt to avoid getting cold.
Feeling Meng Chuyuan's soft body pressing against him, Lu Qingye pulled her into his arms. The distance between them got closer again. The unique scent on her body blended lightly into the air, and he could still smell it faintly.
She has always been a light sleeper and would be easily awakened by any noise. However, this time, Meng Chuyuan's performance made Lu Qingye feel at ease.
Seeing that Meng Chuyuan was not as sensitive as before and could let down her guard in front of him and return to her most comfortable state, Lu Qingye couldn't help but curl his lips.
Lu Qingye responded softly: "Yeah, I'm back."
Her hand climbed up Lu Qingye's shoulder and nestled on the side of his collarbone, and her even and warm breathing fell clearly into his ears.
Lu Qingye lowered his head, brushed his lips across the tip of her nose, covered her lips, and kissed her calmly.
He was not greedy and did not use much force, for fear of waking her up.
Just when Lu Qingye was about to leave, she raised her head and moved closer, and their lips touched again.
Meng Chuyuan didn't open her eyes, it seemed to be just a subconscious reaction. She rubbed against him a few times and then snuggled into Lu Qingye's arms, as docile as a kitten.
This sudden action made Lu Qingye stunned. When he reacted, everything returned to peace, as if nothing had happened.
Lu Qingye had a helpless yet doting smile on his face. He placed his palm on Meng Chuyuan's head and said gently to her, "Go to sleep." Then he turned off the lights and held her to sleep.
The next morning, the sky was gray and not yet completely bright, but Lu Qingye was awakened by his biological clock.
The first thing Lu Qingye saw when he opened his eyes was that he naturally turned his head to look at Meng Chuyuan. She was lying on her side, holding his arm with her hand, her forehead resting on his arm, sleeping soundly.
Lu Qingye wanted to get up quietly by himself, but as soon as he moved his shoulders, Meng Chuyuan noticed it.
She opened her sleepy eyes, looked up at Lu Qingye, and asked in a slightly hoarse voice, "When did you come back last night?"
"It's almost midnight." It took nearly an hour to drive back, and including the time for showering, it was already late at night.
Meng Chuyuan said "Oh" softly, then put her arms around Lu Qingye's waist and forced him to stay. "Then stay for another half an hour and take a nap with me."
