绿焰莽就是妖神当年座下的战将之一的后代，也是最想吞金兽灭族的兽族之一，后代一直奉先祖之命追杀残存的吞金兽。
玄笑他们在一丈岭的时间不长，活动的时候也一直敛息的，并且在外围活动，否则绿焰莽早就把他们追杀得上天入地，他绝不会允许吞金兽这个族群重新壮大。
