Chapter 226 The Wedding (End of Main Text)
Outside the door.
Yan Tingnan stood tall before the steps, wearing a Ming-style crimson gauze robe, a jade belt around his waist, and gold embroidered python patterns running from his shoulders to his hem.
His black gauze hat and winged crown pressed down on his forehead, making his eyebrows and eyes appear even colder, like a cold-faced powerful minister who had just stepped out of a Ming Dynasty painting.
Lu Zhuo raised an eyebrow at the tightly closed door.
"Old Yan, the time to test you has come."
Wen Jinxiao was eager to get started.
"Brothers, prepare for the assault!"
He Sichen pushed up his glasses and calmly unleashed his ultimate move.
"According to data analysis, in this type of door-blocking process, the thickness of the red envelope is positively correlated with the speed at which the door is opened."
Behind him were the groomsmen, led by Lu Zhuo, Wen Jinxiao, and He Sichen.
They were all dressed in uniform dark red flying fish robes, exuding an imposing aura.
Lu Zhuo raised an eyebrow at the tightly closed door.
"Old Yan, the time to test you has come."
Lu Zhuo flashed a golden hook at his waist and raised his hand to hand a stack of red envelopes.
"Huo Siyue, open the door, your brother has come to pick up his ancestors."
"Dream on!"
Huo Siyue snorted.
"Where's the red envelope? Where's the sincerity? Don't even think about taking our bride away if you don't see sincerity!"
Suddenly, a bulging stack of extra-thick red envelopes was slipped under the door.
"Is that enough? If not, there's another box. It's all Lao Yan's money anyway."
"no!"
Song Shengsheng joins the battle.
"Money alone isn't enough; we need to test the groom's sincerity!"
She raised her voice and said, "Mr. Yan, tell me, who will be in charge of the money at home from now on?"
Outside the door, Yan Tingnan's deep voice came through the door panel, clear and distinct.
"she."
Who will cook?
"I."
Who will take care of the child?
"I."
How do I comfort Ruan Ruan when she's angry?
Yan Tingnan paused for a second before speaking.
"Kneel down and coax them."
The answer was concise and to the point, without any hesitation.
The group of sisters inside nodded in satisfaction.
Wen Jinxiao leaned against the door, laughing and punching the wall.
"Old Yan, your status in the family is quite obvious."
Yan Tingnan raised an eyebrow: "I'm under her jurisdiction, is there a problem?"
Everyone: "..."
They took this dose of PDA!
He Sichen calmly added.
"From a behavioral perspective, this is the optimal solution."
Lu Zhuo raised an eyebrow and shouted.
"That's enough, you inside. If you delay the auspicious time, the bride might hold a grudge tonight."
Lin Yiyao's soft voice came through the door, tinged with laughter.
"Lu Zhuo, whose side are you on?"
Lu Zhuo: "..."
He touched his nose and fell silent.
Yan Tingnan raised her hand to stop the commotion behind her.
Song coughed once to stabilize the situation.
“Point out three flaws in the bride!”
Wen Jinxiao: "???"
This is a life-or-death question!
Yan Tingnan, without changing his expression, began to speak in detail.
"It's so soft, I always want to hug it."
"It's so sweet, I'm addicted."
"It's so dazzling that I can't see anyone else."
Inside the door: "..."
Huo Siyue covered her mouth: "This is a flaw?!"
"Then let me ask! If my sister-in-law says she's going east..."
Yan Tingnan: "I'm not going west."
She said she wanted to sleep.
Yan Tingnan: "I absolutely will not get up."
There was a deathly silence outside the door.
Then came Wen Jinxiao's cough and Lu Zhuo's sneer.
Inside the door, Su Ruan's cheeks flushed bright red, and she grabbed a round fan to cover her face.
That bastard!
How dare you say such things in public!
The sisters inside the sect stirred things up several more times, coming up with all sorts of tricks.
Unfortunately, the groomsmen outside the door had both excessive strength and intelligence, and were bombarded with red envelopes.
Huo Siyue was holding a handful of red envelopes, smiling so broadly her eyes were almost closed.
"Alright, alright, if you don't open the door, my brother is going to tear the house down!"
Song Shengsheng then slowly raised her hand and unlocked the device with a click.
The moment the door opened, Yan Tingnan's gaze swept past everyone and locked onto Su Ruan, who was sitting in the middle of the bed.
Her bright red wedding dress accentuated her snow-white skin, and even though only half her face and a pair of watery eyes were visible, she was already stunningly beautiful.
Their eyes met.
His eyes, dark and turbulent, suddenly surged with emotion.
Su Ruan smiled and her eyes curved into a smile, silently mouthing the words.
"husband."
Yan Tingnan's Adam's apple bobbed, and he strode forward.
"etc!"
Song Shengsheng suddenly jumped out, raising an eyebrow.
"I haven't looked for my shoes yet!"
Wen Jinxiao looked at Huo Siyue.
"Huo Siyue, where are you hiding?"
Huo Siyue looked smug.
"You won't find it anyway!"
Yan Tingnan's gaze swept across the room before finally settling on Su Ruan.
Su Ruan blinked innocently, but pulled her skirt back a little.
Yan Tingnan smiled slightly, stepped forward, knelt on one knee on the edge of the bed, and leaned over.
Under everyone's watchful eyes, he reached his arm under the layers of Su Ruan's wedding dress.
Su Ruan gasped softly as her ankle was held in his warm palm.
When he came out again, his fingertips were hooked around that bright red embroidered shoe.
Holy crap!
Wen Jinxiao was utterly shocked.
"Old Yan, your technique..."
Lu Zhu clicked his tongue: "Very experienced."
He Sichen calmly commented: "A model of combining logical judgment with intuition."
Ignoring all the teasing, Yan Tingnan held Su Ruan's ankle and carefully put her shoes on.
After he finished dressing, he looked up at her, his voice so low that only the two of them could hear him.
"Ruan Ruan, is there one more?"
Su Ruan hooked the round fan with her fingertips, and her red lips curved up behind the fan.
"Beg me."
"Please."
He answered crisply, his voice low and magnetic, sending a tingling sensation through my ears.
Su Ruan's heart skipped a beat. She moved her fan away slightly and beckoned to him with her finger.
Yan Tingnan leaned closer.
She tilted her head back and whispered in his ear.
"Under Yao Yao's pillow."
A warm breath brushed against his earlobe, and Yan Tingnan stood up, his gaze sweeping over Lin Yiyao.
Lin Yiyao blushed and subconsciously looked at Lu Zhuo.
Lu Zhuo immediately received the signal, took a long stride, reached under the pillow, pulled out the embroidered shoe, and tossed it to Yan Tingnan.
"Alright, hurry up!"
Yan Tingnan took the shoe covers and put them on.
"We've got him."
He stood up, bent down, and steadily lifted Su Ruan into his arms.
The phoenix crown and its jewels jingled softly, and Su Ruan instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck.
Hold me tight.
"I'll never let it go in this lifetime."
The wedding was held in the former royal palace of the Han Dynasty, a palace-style building with flying eaves and brackets, and winding vermilion corridors.
Backed by a forest park, nestled against mountains and facing a lake, it covers an area of thousands of acres.
The pavilions and towers, the winding paths leading to secluded spots, are all brightly lit and decorated today, and the guests are all top figures in Beijing's elite circles.
As the elder witness at the wedding, Mr. Qin, dressed in a traditional Chinese suit, looked hale and hearty, his eyes filled with satisfaction as he gazed at the newlyweds.
The ceremony was solemn and romantic.
"First bow to Heaven and Earth."
The two bowed deeply to heaven and earth.
"Bowing to the parents twice."
Although their parents were not present, they still bowed sincerely to the void, expressing gratitude for their birth and reconciling with the past.
"Husband and wife bow to each other."
Yan Tingnan and Su Ruan stood facing each other.
He looked at her, and she looked at him.
Everything around them receded into the distance, leaving only their reflections in each other's eyes.
Bow deeply in prayer.
The ceremony was completed, and the banquet began.
Cheers erupted.
With the help of the groomsmen, bridesmaids, and Mr. Qin, Huo Siyue sat at the head table.
After the toasts were finished, the sky was filled with stars.
Inside the new house, red candles burned brightly.
Su Ruan sat on the edge of the bed covered with a bright red quilt draped with mandarin ducks, her phoenix coronet already removed.
After seeing the guests off, Yan Tingnan pushed open the door, entered, and locked it behind him.
He approached step by step, carrying the scent of a slight buzz from alcohol.
Are you tired?
He knelt down in front of her, took her hand, and looked up at her.
Su Ruan shook her head, her fingertip tracing the corner of his reddened eyes.
"You've had too much to drink."
"Not much."
He took her fingers and kissed them lightly.
"Be sober enough to unwrap my gift."
What gift?
He got up and pressed her into the soft bedding, his breath hot.
"A phoenix coronet and embroidered robe, layer upon layer."
"I said we would dismantle it gradually."
The red curtains fell, and the candlelight flickered red.
The clothes were peeled off piece by piece, like petals unfolding layer by layer.
His movements were both patient and domineering as he whispered sweet nothings in her ear.
"Soft..."
"Call me husband."
Su Ruan was so aroused by him that she obeyed and whispered his words.
"husband……"
He chuckled contentedly and kissed her.
"Thank you, Ruanruan, for being so bold as to try and hook me back then."
"Thank you for not giving up when I was covered in mud."
"Thank you for loving someone like me who isn't so great."
She suddenly cupped his face in her hands and looked into his turbulent eyes.
"Yan Tingnan, thank you too."
"Thank me for what?"
"Thank you for being covered in mud, yet lifting me up to the moon."
"Thank you for making me believe that being loved doesn't require being obedient."
Yan Tingnan's eyes suddenly darkened. He rolled over and pulled her beneath him, lowering his head to kiss her.
"My softie deserves all the stars to pave the way and the Milky Way to hang its curtain."
In a moment of passion, he held her fingers tightly, their fingers intertwined, and pressed her into the brocade quilt.
"Soft."
"Um?"
"In this life..."
"Falling in love with you is important, but falling in love with you is even more important."

—A side note—
Writing this, I really feel like I've raised a child. Thank you to everyone who has followed this far.
It was your comments, complaints, and urging for updates that made me laugh out loud while writing late at night, and also gave me the motivation to keep writing when I was stuck.
You are not just readers; you are my online parenting partners, my online family and friends.
I recognize so many of your IDs that I can practically recite them by heart. Although I can't tag you all here, I cherish your companionship in my little notebook and in my heart!
The main story ends here, but their world continues.
Next, we will begin the side story of Lu Zhuo and Lin Yiyao.
Of course, for those who aren't interested in reading the extras, let's say goodbye here.
Regardless, I am extremely grateful to have you all with me this summer.
May our Ruan Ruan and Teacher Yan's love in the world of the book last forever, and may each of you in reality be chosen steadfastly and loved with confidence in your own world.
Oh right!
After thinking about it, I still feel that sharing happiness is worse than enjoying it alone. How can there be no perks on the wedding night!
This should be the first and last time this kind of benefit is given out.
I've done some research and I'll post the special bonus episode for our wedding night on Weibo. Check out my Weibo: Luotingxu.
It will be posted later. Those who are interested can go and take a look. For safety reasons, it will only be kept for one week and will be deleted after one week!
Finally, I'd like to ask you all, a little bit greedy, to write me a five-star book review! Love you all, muah~
We'll meet again someday, see you in the next story!
Love you all!
