Chapter 57 Taking advantage of drunkenness to commit violence?

Chapter 57 Taking advantage of drunkenness to commit violence?

The phone call ended abruptly.

Su Ruan stared at her phone, her brows furrowed slightly.

Lu Zhuo? Yan Tingnan's notorious playboy brother?

Should she go to the bar to pick someone up now?

Is Yan Tingnan drunk?

She suppressed the thought as soon as it arose.

Would someone with Yan Tingnan's abnormally high level of self-control allow himself to drink to the point where he needs someone to pick him up?

It's highly likely that Lu Zhuo acted on his own initiative.

Never mind, I'll still go.

Perfect timing, I haven't seen that ice sculpture Buddha for three days.

This opportunity to visit the set has come knocking on my door; I'll go for a quick look and make my presence known.

...

Yan Tingnan returned from the restroom.

He sat down and saw that his phone, which had been on the sofa, had been moved to the coffee table.

He glanced at Lu Zhuo again.

"You touched my phone?"

His voice was deep and cold, slightly hoarse from drinking.

Lu Zhuo, with a cigar dangling from his lips, wore a smug, smug smile that suggested he was watching a good show.

"I answered an urgent call for you."

"Whose call was it?" Yan Tingnan asked.

"To Miss Su."

He paused deliberately.

"I told her you're drunk and to have her come over."

Yan Tingnan's eyes darkened slightly as he glanced at Lu Zhuo.

"eventful."

Lu Zhuo was completely unconcerned about Yan Tingnan's cold attitude.

"Tsk, I helped you out and you don't even appreciate it?"

"So you won't have to put on airs like a Buddha, wanting to see me but unable to find a reason."

Yan Tingnan ignored him, picked up her phone, and the screen was still showing Su Ruan's number.

He hovered his fingertip over the return key, then moved it away after a moment.

never mind.

Since we're already here...

Half an hour later, Su Ruan stepped into the slow-drinking room.

Lu Zhuo's reputation was effective, and the waiter led her directly to the top-floor private room.

Lu Zhuo, with a cigar in his mouth, stared intently at the entrance.

The bar was dimly lit, with shadowy figures moving about.

A slender figure walked through the noise and headed straight this way.

Lu Zhuo squinted, and when he saw who it was, he almost dropped the cigar he was holding.

Su Ruan wore a light apricot-colored dress with thin straps.

Her black hair was casually tied up, revealing her slender neck and a clean yet radiant face.

The light swept across her eyebrows and eyes, revealing her almond-shaped eyes that were clear, bright, and alluringly languid.

She wasn't dressed up at all, yet she seemed to have her own spotlight, instantly absorbing all the superficiality around her.

Like a fawn that has wandered into a noisy jungle.

Clean, yet concealing a silent fire.

Lu Zhuoxin was taken aback.

No wonder!

Is a pearl covered in dust?

These four words popped into Lu Zhuo's mind.

He finally understood where Yan Tingnan's evaluation came from.

I also understood the source of his unusual, down-to-earth nature.

That kid Yan Yunye, his eyes must be on the back of his head!

Are you throwing away such a stunning beauty like trash?

Serves his dad right for picking up the bargain!

Su Ruan approached, her gaze sweeping over Yan Tingnan on the sofa before finally landing on Lu Zhuo's face, where she gave a polite nod.

"Mr. Lu."

Lu Zhuo stubbed out his cigar, stood up, raised his chin at Su Ruan, and smiled charmingly and knowingly.

"Look, your CEO Yan is here."

Lu Zhuo pouted and smiled mischievously.

"It's up to you now."

"Old Yan drank a bit too much today, and the aftereffects are kicking in."

"I have other engagements to attend to, Miss Su, would you mind seeing me through to the end?"

He patted Yan Tingnan on the shoulder and leaned closer.

He said jokingly, in a voice only the two of them could hear.

"Old Yan, you've tricked him into coming."

"Enjoy this fresh air while your old man can still smell it and come knocking on your door."

"These carefree days are numbered, and each day we enjoy them is one less we can have."

The words were both a reminder and a joke.

Yan Tingnan gave Lu Zhu a cold glance.

"I know what I'm doing."

"Watch your mouth, don't scare her."

Lu Zhuo was taken aback, but instead of being annoyed, he laughed.

"Fine, I admit I was being nosy."

As he spoke, he waved to Su Ruan with a flourish.

"Miss Su, the person is now in your care. See you later!"

After saying that, Lu Zhuo grabbed his coat, took a long stride, and left the private room.

He left swiftly, leaving behind a table full of leftover wine and a drunken Buddha statue.

Su Ruan walked up to Yan Tingnan.

He leaned back on the sofa, his long legs slightly bent, his gold-rimmed glasses resting on the coffee table.

Su Ruan leaned down and lightly touched his arm with her fingers.

"President Yan?"

Yan Tingnan's eyelids twitched slightly, and he slowly raised his eyes.

His eyes, lacking their usual clarity and sharpness, were veiled in mist, carrying a hint of bewilderment, and stared intently at her.

Su Ruan's heart skipped a beat.

That look is a bit too much for me.

She deliberately moved closer, her voice soft and teasing.

"Hey, Great Buddha, do you still recognize who I am?"

Yan Tingnan suddenly grabbed her wrist and pulled her down.

Su Ruan was caught off guard and fell into his arms, her nose bumping against his hot chest. The cool smell of alcohol mixed with sandalwood enveloped her face.

"Su Ruan".

He spoke slowly and deeply, his breath hot against her ear.

It's not Assistant Su, it's Soft Su.

The words he uttered gently tickled the most sensitive spot in Su Ruan's heart.

Su Ruan raised an eyebrow.

"Hey, you remember the name pretty well. Looks like you're not completely drunk."

She reached out her hand to him.

"Can you walk? I'll take you home."

Yan Tingnan didn't answer, but instead tightened her grip on her wrist slightly, signaling her to lead the way.

Su Ruan resignedly grabbed his arm. The man's tall body instantly pressed down on her, heavy and imposing.

His steps were fairly steady, but most of his body weight was leaning on her.

But their hands remained tightly clasped, never letting go.

He walked through the crowd, attracting many sidelong glances.

Su reluctantly dragged and helped him into the car.

Yan Tingnan leaned back in the seat, eyes closed, brows slightly furrowed.

The alcohol was affecting him, and his cheeks flushed slightly, and his breathing became heavier than usual.

As soon as Su Ruan sat down, he leaned to the side and rested his head directly on her shoulder.

His warm breath sprayed onto the bare skin on the side of her neck, sending a slight shiver down her spine.

Su Ruan froze.

"Yan Tingnan?"

She tried to push him.

Then I noticed his slightly furrowed brows and his hand frozen in mid-air.

Forget it, why bother arguing with a drunkard?

The car started and smoothly drove into the night.

Light and shadow flowed across Yan Tingnan's sharply defined profile.

Su Ruan lowered her eyes, her gaze falling on his face, which was so close to hers.

With long eyelashes, a high nose bridge, and pursed lips, she looked rather innocent when she let her guard down.

She twitched her fingers, wanting to touch the slightly furrowed brow.

He had just raised his hand.

Yan Tingnan suddenly moved, and a muffled murmur escaped from his throat.

He unconsciously wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer to him.

Su Ruan was almost completely encircled in his arms, her cheek pressed against his burning chest.

"Loosen your grip a little."

Su Ruan lowered her voice, a hint of annoyance in her voice, and tried to pull away.

The arms around her waist were tightened even more.

"Don't move."

His voice was hoarse and indistinct, tinged with the willfulness of alcohol, as he rubbed his chin against the top of her head.

Su Ruan: "..."

This pose is dangerous.

Su Ruan was furious but couldn't break free.

Her nose was filled with his scent, mixed with the smell of alcohol, which made her dizzy and her cheeks burn.

What's this?

Did he commit a crime while drunk?

She turned her head, her lips accidentally brushing against his prominent Adam's apple.

Then, his Adam's apple slid up and down with remarkable restraint.

The muscles in the arms wrapped around her waist tensed instantly.

I could hear his suppressed breathing coming from above.

Su Ruan froze, no longer daring to move.

I had no choice but to stand stiffly as a human-shaped cushion.
