Chapter 125 Little Darling, Don't Bother Me
Lu Zhuo stared at the cigarette ash but didn't flick it.
The tiny spark at his fingertips flickered, much like the indescribable emotions he was feeling at that moment.
The carriage was still filled with an ambiguous warmth, mixed with her sweet, light fragrance and the smell of his usual tobacco.
It's a bit pungent and a bit itchy.
He agreed to Yan Tingnan's request.
Fifteen days to win over Lin Yiyao.
Let the marriage alliance fall through completely.
Regardless of the means, results are paramount.
He had prepared the cat in advance, knowing she would like it, and even rehearsed his lines eight hundred times.
His motives for approaching her were tinged with calculation and exploitation from the very beginning.
Yan Tingnan wanted to protect Su Ruan and wanted him to be the wedge that would pry open the marriage alliance.
He agreed, because that was Yan Tingnan, his brother who had risked his life for him.
It was also because of the vague and inexplicable feelings he had for Lin Yiyao.
But he never intended to actually do anything to her.
But now...
He not only did something to her, but he did it with a purpose.
This girl is so genuine.
It made all his skillful scheming seem particularly ugly.
Lu Zhuo let out a long breath.
He adjusted Lin Yiyao's seat and placed a soft pillow under it.
I got up, opened the car door, took a bottle of water from the trunk, unscrewed the cap, and handed it to her.
"Have a drink."
Lin Yiyao took small sips, her gaze drifting out the window.
The moonlight shone down and fell on his sharply defined profile.
The roguish air has faded, leaving only a gentle silhouette.
He unscrewed a bottle of water and held it to her lips first.
Watching her take small sips, I then gulped down a few mouthfuls from the spot she had just drunk from.
Do you regret it?
Lin Yiyao paused for a moment, then looked up at him.
His gaze was somewhat somber, as if he were waiting for her answer, or perhaps afraid to hear it.
She slowly shook her head, her voice soft yet firm.
No regrets.
Lu Zhuo stared at her for a few seconds, as if to confirm the truth of her words.
She suddenly spoke: "Lu Zhuo."
"Um?"
Why did you hesitate just now?
He paused, turning his head to look at her.
"I'm afraid you'll cry."
"I'm not a child."
"Even harder to coax than a child."
He flicked her forehead with his finger.
"She cries endlessly, it's a hassle."
Lin Yiyao smiled, pursing her lips.
Look, it's still that sharp-tongued Lu Zhuo.
"What are we?"
She asked cautiously, yet stubbornly wanted an answer.
Lu Zhuo remained silent for a few seconds.
What does it even count for?
Was it a calculated move by him to get close to her?
Is this a move on his brother's chessboard?
Was this a case of her being used to rebel against her family?
These words rolled on his tongue, but he swallowed them back down.
It's too dirty.
I'm afraid that speaking out would taint the still relatively clean wind on the mountaintop at this moment, and her very being.
He twitched the corners of his mouth, but the curve didn't convey a smile; instead, it was somewhat self-deprecating.
"You're unlucky to have run into a bastard like me."
He flicked her forehead lightly with his finger, controlling the force very gently.
"I guess I was lucky to find such a bold little rabbit."
"Lu Zhuo".
Lin Yiyao suddenly leaned closer.
"Teach me something even worse."
Lu Zhuo pressed her back into her seat, leaned down on her, and kissed her eyelids lightly.
That's enough for today.
He stepped back, panting.
"Teaching you again will hurt."
"I'm taking you on a hellish adventure."
He got up and straightened her clothes, his movements clumsy but careful.
He carefully wrapped the torn part of the skirt with his suit jacket and tied it in a knot.
"Make do."
He frowned, seemingly dissatisfied but helpless.
Lin Yiyao looked at his unusually serious profile and suddenly smiled.
"Lu Zhuo".
"What is it now, my little darling?"
She reached out and poked his tense cheek.
"You don't seem so bad."
Lu Zhuo grabbed her mischievous fingers and rubbed them between his teeth.
"illusion."
He chuckled, but a hint of tenderness appeared in his eyes.
"The worst is yet to come."
He started the car and turned it around.
"Shall I take you back?"
Lin Yiyao suddenly grabbed his wrist.
"Don't go home."
Her fingers were cold and trembling slightly.
"If we go back now, they'll find out..."
Lu Zhuo grabbed her hand in return, his palm burning hot.
"Where to?"
Lin Yiyao bit her lip, and after a long while, muttered softly.
"Your home."
Lu Zhuo stepped on the brake and turned to look at her.
"Little darling, do you know what coming to my house means?"
"Know."
She looked up and met his gaze.
"That means I'm not going to be a good girl tonight."
Lu Zhuo's eyes suddenly darkened.
I've never done anything good in my life.
It's quite easy to lure a good girl into going astray.
Lu Zhuo's residence was located downstairs from Yan Tingnan Tower, both belonging to the Tan Palace.
The elevator goes directly to the floor.
The front door opens, and the motion-sensor light in the entryway turns on automatically.
The decor is in cool gray tones, and the space is so clean it's almost empty.
Lu Zhuo placed the cat carrier in the entryway, and the Ragdoll inside let out a weak meow.
"Don't make a sound."
He tapped the box with his finger, his tone impatient but his movements gentle.
Lu Zhuo bent down and opened the flight case.
The Ragdoll cat timidly peeked out, its blue eyes looking like two pools of glass in the dim light.
It hesitated for a moment, then sniffed the air before leaping out lightly.
"Go play by yourself."
Lu Zhuo flicked the cat's ears with his finger, very lightly.
Lin Yiyao stood at the door, looking somewhat awkwardly at the gleaming dark floor.
She wasn't wearing shoes; her stockings had been removed by him in the car, and now she was barefoot on the cold stone of the porch.
Her slender, white toes curled slightly.
Lu Zhuo glanced back and saw it, then frowned.
"Standing there like a door god?"
He walked over, bent down, and picked her up horizontally in his arms.
Lu Zhuo placed her on the sofa and turned to pour water.
Lin Yiyao looked around; there was no trace of a woman here.
He may seem like a playboy, but he is actually aloof.
Lu Zhuo handed her a water glass and watched her sip it. Suddenly, he squatted down and held her ankle.
My feet are blistered.
He frowned, rummaged under the coffee table for a first-aid kit, and took out some band-aids.
Lin Yiyao instinctively pulled her foot back.
"dirty……"
Lu Zhuo gripped her ankle tightly.
"Now you know you think it's dirty?"
He moved gently and carefully applied the band-aid.
"Why weren't you afraid up in the mountain just now?"
Lin Yiyao's ears burned, and she turned her face away.
"That's different."
Lu Zhuo looked up, a mocking glint in his eyes.
"How are they different?"
Lin Yiyao couldn't say it.
Lu Zhuo chuckled and stood up to pinch her cheek.
"fool."
He went into the bedroom, took out a black shirt, and threw it to her.
"Go take a shower."
Lin Yiyao stood still, clutching her shirt.
Lu Zhuo raised an eyebrow.
"What? You need my help?"
Lin Yiyao turned around and went into the bathroom.
Hot water poured down, washing away fatigue and chaos.
She looked at the person in the mirror; her neck and chest were covered in marks.
Like a stranger, yet a vibrant person.
Suddenly there was a knock on the door.
Lu Zhuo's voice sounded a little hoarse through the door.
"Did you faint inside?"
Lin Yiyao hurriedly turned off the water.
"Coming soon."
She put on his shirt, which was so big it covered her thighs.
The door opened, and Lu Zhuo leaned against the door frame, looking over with a deep gaze.
"It looks pretty decent."
He reached out and tucked her wet hair behind her ear.
"sleep."
There is only one bed in the master bedroom.
Lin Yiyao stood by the bed, feeling a little lost.
Lu Zhuo lifted the blanket and tucked her inside.
But he turned to leave.
Lin Yiyao instinctively grabbed the hem of his clothes.
Where are you going?
Lu Zhuo turned around, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"What? You want me to sleep with you?"
Lin Yiyao let go of his hand, her ears turning bright red.
Lu Zhuo chuckled and leaned over to support himself above her.
"Little darling, don't provoke me."
He lowered his voice, which carried a warning tone.
That's enough for tonight.
