Chapter 131 Feeding the Hardworking President Yan
The top floor of the President's Office at the headquarters of Qingyan Group.
Yan Tingnan put down her phone; the screen was still showing her chat with Su Ruan.
He leaned back in the wide chair and rubbed his temples hard, trying to shake off the fatigue from staying up late for days.
But all he could think about was her alluring little voice from earlier.
He loosened his tie, closed his eyes, and tapped his knuckles on the table.
I'm really going crazy.
I'm really tired.
I really miss her.
He was so busy he barely had time to breathe, setting up the chessboard, closing the net, suppressing the old man, and dealing with Lin Xuqiu.
Every step must be flawless; nerves are stretched to the limit.
Only when I heard her voice did I feel like I could finally breathe a sigh of relief.
His journey home.
His addiction.
He needs to get everything sorted out as soon as possible.
Bring her back.
Lock it to your side.
Working together day and night.
Exhaustion washed over her nerves like a tide, and Yan Tingnan leaned back in her chair, closing her eyes for a short rest.
Just as my consciousness sank into a chaotic darkness, there was a knock on the door.
Tap, tap tap.
The rhythm was familiar, tinged with a tentative caution.
His eyelashes fluttered suddenly, and he opened his eyes.
There shouldn't be anyone here at this time without an appointment.
His gaze swept across the internal communication screen, and his pupils suddenly contracted.
On the screen, Su Ruan was carrying an insulated bag, tilting her head slightly, and winking at the access control camera.
His gaze fell upon her, and he paused for a moment before his eyes darkened, like a star falling into an ink-black pool.
My heart felt like it had been squeezed by something, suddenly contracting and then beating faster.
All fatigue was washed away by this sudden appearance.
He stood up instantly and strode towards the door.
Outside the door, Su Ruan looked up at him with a smile.
"Mr. Yan, would you like some late-night snacks?"
Yan Tingnan pulled the person inside and slammed the door shut behind him.
The door closed and locked behind him.
The insulated bag fell onto the carpet with a dull thud.
He pressed her against the door, his tall frame looming over her.
He tightened his arms around her waist and buried his face deep in the crook of her neck.
He took a deep breath, like an addict finally finding the cure.
"Yan Tingnan, you..."
"Don't move."
His voice was muffled and burning hot against her skin.
"Let me recharge."
Su Ruan's heart softened, and her original intention to deliberately cause trouble was shattered by his tired words.
She calmed down and gently rubbed the back of his head.
"Is it really that tiring?"
"Um."
He gave a muffled reply.
"Seeing you makes me feel better."
Why are you here?
Su Ruan gently pushed him away, bent down to pick up the food box on the carpet, and shook it.
"Thank you for your hard work, President Yan."
Yan Tingnan straightened up, took her hand, and walked towards the spacious reception area on the side.
He sank into the leather sofa, opened the food box, and steam and aroma wafted out.
"I'm actually hungry."
Yan Tingnan didn't touch the spoon, his gaze fixed on her face.
"Want to eat together?"
"I don't want to eat."
Su Ruan shook her head.
"They came specifically to feed President Yan."
Yan Tingnan raised an eyebrow, his gaze deep and unfathomable.
"Feed me?"
"Are you sure you're just here to deliver this?"
"Otherwise what?"
He put down the food box and reached out to hook her finger.
With a little force, I pulled her closer.
"I thought it was..."
He paused, lowering his voice even further.
"Another way of feeding."
Su Ruan's breath hitched as he gripped her fingers, his heat radiating through her.
"The food is getting cold, Mr. Yan."
He scooped up a spoonful, blew on it gently, and then brought it to her lips.
"First, taste it to see if it's salty enough."
Su Ruan looked at his stubborn hand and took a sip from it.
"How about it?"
He asked, his voice lowering slightly.
"Hmm, it's alright."
She swallowed the warm porridge and glanced at him.
"Can I eat in peace now?"
"I'm hungry."
He made a pointed remark, put down his spoon, and brushed it against the corner of her lips.
"But this isn't enough."
Su Ruan grabbed his restless hand and pressed it against the armrest of the sofa.
"Then let's finish eating these first."
She pressed hard, pressing her fingers against the back of his hand.
"We'll talk about what happens next."
Yan Tingnan grabbed her fingers with his other hand, their fingers intertwined, and pulled her closer.
"Ruan Ruan, now that you're here, I didn't plan to just eat this."
"President Yan."
She touched the back of his hand with her fingertips, her eyes sparkling.
"Late-night snacks should be eaten one bite at a time, and things should be done one thing at a time."
She paused deliberately, her voice trailing off with a hint of a smile, as she coaxed him softly.
"You should finish eating these first."
Yan Tingnan smiled with satisfaction, then picked up her spoon and began to eat slowly and deliberately.
Light streamed down from above his head, his long eyelashes drooping, casting a small shadow.
His jawline was hard and cold, but the rhythm of his Adam's apple bobbing when he swallowed revealed a rare docility.
Su Ruan rested her chin on her hand and looked at him.
How much longer will this busy period last?
"Soon."
He answered.
"The last bit of finishing touches."
Su Ruan's gaze traced his slightly tired eyebrows and eyes.
As he looked, his brows furrowed slightly.
"Haven't you eaten properly for days?"
He swallowed the food in his mouth before replying casually.
"I can't remember."
He didn't look at her, but scooped up another spoonful of porridge, his tone softening.
"When you get busy, you forget."
Su Ruan looked around.
The CEO's office is enormous, with a cool gray color scheme, exuding an air of luxurious orderliness and coldness.
A hidden door on the side was slightly ajar, revealing a corner of the lounge inside.
The bed was neatly made, but several documents and a vial of eye drops were scattered on the bedside table.
"Have you been sleeping here these past few days?"
Yan Tingnan hummed in response, without even looking up.
"Convenient and saves time."
Su Ruan felt a sudden pang of sadness.
The CEO of Qingyan sounds glamorous, but behind the scenes lies relentless battles and countless late nights.
"Does he really think he's made of iron?"
"I think you've become an immortal; you can live just by breathing in the wind and drinking the dew."
After Yan Tingnan put down her spoon, she took out a tissue and handed it to her.
Yan Tingnan took it and wiped his mouth.
He looked at her calmly.
"Feeling sorry for him?"
Su Ruan looked away.
"I'm afraid that if President Yan collapses from exhaustion, there will be no one to support SoftVoice."
He finished clearing away the dishes, then stood up with a low laugh.
"I'm going to take a shower."
Su Ruan leaned back on the sofa and watched him walk into the bathroom in the lounge.
Take a look at this office, which symbolizes the pinnacle of power.
Cold, luxurious, and devoid of human presence.
Like the mask he's worn for over thirty years.
Su Ruan walked to the floor-to-ceiling window.
The CEO's office on the 30th floor of Qingyan occupies the best view of the entire floor.
Her gaze swept across the shadows cast by the buildings, then suddenly stopped.
From this angle, you can see the workstation by the window in the collections department.
Her former position was now completely exposed in the center of the glass's view.
My heart felt like it had been gently bumped by something.
I heard soft footsteps behind me, and the steam from my shower wafted over.
A hot chest pressed against her back, an arm wrapped around her waist, pulling her into a tight embrace.
Water droplets dripped from Yan Tingnan's hair, soaking the thin fabric of her clothes around her shoulders and neck.
He wasn't wearing a shirt, just a loosely tied bath towel, and his well-defined abs were very noticeable through the fabric of her clothes.
"What are you looking at?"
His voice was low and husky, his lips almost touching her earlobe.
Su Ruan didn't turn around, but tapped the glass with her finger.
"You can see very clearly from that position."
She turned her head, her gaze sweeping upwards, meeting his deep eyes.
"Mr. Yan, you must have been secretly watching me quite a bit before, right?"
