"Ye Shuang! Go to hell!"
As a voice rang out, a sharp spiritual force pierced through Ye Shuang's body from behind, shattering all her meridians.
Ye Shuang felt a wave of despair. She had worked so hard to get to where she was today, and she had finally climbed to her current position. Was she going to stop here?
"Why...why!" Ye Shuang turned her head with difficulty, but when she saw the familiar face, her mind went completely blank! How...how could it be her!
"Only when you die will the Wentian Sect be mine!"
The face that should have been pretty and cute was now etched with a sinister and terrifying expression. Ye Shuang was horrified. She had wasted so many years raising a heartless ingrate!
Good! Very good!
Ye Shuang's vision blurred, and she used all her spiritual power to slap the random teleportation array hidden beneath her. Seeing her astonished expression, Ye Shuang weakly forced a smile. The next second, she felt as if her whole body was being violently distorted by the surrounding space, and everything went black before her eyes, and she completely lost consciousness.
"Oh dear, who was so heartless as to hurt a child like this?"
"Look at this poor child, I wonder whose child he is? His family must be so worried!"
"Hmph, do you need to worry about this? Just look at the clothes this child is wearing, and you can tell that his family must be rich and powerful. The fact that he's covered in wounds and ended up here means that his family must have a feud. You dare to approach him? Aren't you afraid of bringing trouble upon yourselves?"
As soon as these words were spoken, the surroundings fell silent, followed by the sound of footsteps receding into the distance.
Hearing that there was no more movement around her, Ye Shuang opened her eyes with difficulty, wanting to see who dared to offend her like this? And, a child? Where did this child come from?
But when she caught her breath, her pale little face in the stream made her look like she was only five or six years old.
Ye Shuang slowly propped herself up to sit up, but the next moment, looking at her small, delicate hands, the worst thought crossed her mind. Could it be? Could it be what she was thinking?
"Oh dear, her father, look, the child is still here!"
The sound from behind startled Ye Shuang again. She turned around and saw a middle-aged couple, both nearing forty, jogging towards her.
Ye Shuang subconsciously suppressed her surprise and revealed a bewildered expression.
Li Mantian quickly took off his cotton-padded coat and wrapped it around Ye Shuang's thin and small body. He asked in what he thought was the most loving voice he had ever used, "Girl, what are you doing by the water?"
Upon hearing this, Ye Shuang paused, shook her head, and said in a childish voice, "I don't know."
Li Mantian simply hugged the trembling child who could barely sit up: "Do you still remember your parents?"
Ye Shuang looked at them, blinked, and said in a childish voice, "Aren't you my parents?"
Li Mantian was taken aback and turned to look at his wife. Unexpectedly, his wife immediately laughed, reached out and snatched the child from his arms, holding her in her own embrace: "Yes, that's right, we are your parents. Our little girl has been so hard to find, so you're not allowed to run away again, understand?"
"Okay." Ye Shuang stretched out her small arms and wrapped them around the woman's neck, resting her head on her shoulder, and closed her eyes as if she were very tired.
Seeing this, Li Mantian and Li Shi carried her home quickly. She was covered in injuries and had been in the water for so long, they needed to find a doctor to take a look at her as soon as possible.
