Yuwen Leng quickly took it and put it on. The moment he put it on, that incomparably handsome face disappeared, replaced by an ordinary face that was so plain that it could be thrown into a crowd and then disappeared without a trace.
“From now on, you must obey my orders. Getting close to them is not something that can be done overnight. Don’t do anything that might arouse suspicion. Do you still have enough money? The old courtyard is no longer usable. You have to buy a new one, in my name.” After Ye Shuang finished speaking, she turned to look at him. “From now on, I am a down-on-her-luck young lady who has barely escaped the chaos of war. You are my personal bodyguard.”
Yuwen Leng had no objections and nodded with a smile, saying, "Okay, young lady. What kind of house would you like?"
Ye Shuang took out two heavy-looking bundles from her storage ring and handed them to him. Her clothes were alright, but the material was unrecognizable to ordinary people. Yuwen Leng, on the other hand, was dressed in a gray outfit to keep a low profile while following him, which coincidentally matched his identity as a guard.
The two slowly walked through the city gate. Ye Shuang thought for a moment and said, "My room needs to face the sun. I want to plant some flowers and plants. The yard should be as big as possible. You can decide on the rest."
“Yes, miss.” Yuwen Leng replied, “Then let’s find an inn to stay at for the next two days. It will take a few days to set up the house.”
After all, mortals can't clean their rooms with just a spell like they do.
Ye Shuang nodded: "Alright, is there enough money?"
"Don't worry, young lady, there's plenty of this." Yuwen said with a sneer, and they had already arrived at the entrance of the familiar inn.
This time, Yuwen Leng was much smarter. When the innkeeper and waiter saw that they were strangers, their eyes lit up. Last time, he thought that the local people knew how to do business, but now it seemed that they were looking at him with more curiosity.
"Are you here for a meal or to stay the night?" the waiter asked eagerly as he approached.
Ye Shuang looked around and covered her nose with a handkerchief in disgust: "We need to stay at a hotel. Give me your best room, the cleanest one."
Yuwen Leng took out some silver and handed it to the waiter: "Two top-class rooms, bring hot water and good food."
"Alright, two top-tier rooms, please follow me, gentlemen." The waiter bowed and smiled obsequiously as he led the way to a corner room on the second floor. He opened the door and said to Ye Shuang, "Miss, are you satisfied? Your room is right next door, sir."
Ye Shuang looked around, still seemingly disgusted, but finally nodded reluctantly and said, "Fine, I suppose you don't have any better rooms here. That's fine, I need to rest."
Yuwen waved his hand at him, and the waiter tactfully withdrew, not forgetting to thoughtfully close the door for them.
Ye Shuang looked at the waiter who was still standing at the door and unwilling to leave, and the corners of her mouth curled up slightly. She looked at Yuwen Leng, but her voice was full of affectation: "A Leng, this place is too bad. Find me a clean courtyard as soon as possible tomorrow. I don't want to leave anymore. I'll stay here from now on."
Yuwen Leng also noticed the person at the door, and then cooperated by saying, "Yes, Miss, please bear with it for a few more days. I will make the arrangements tomorrow."
Seemingly satisfied with the answer, the waiter trotted away as soon as he finished speaking.
