Chapter 37 Who is really the one who is wronged?

At noon, both Li Shi and Li Mantian returned, but both wore the same sadness on their faces, though Li Mantian's expression held an added touch of grief.

This is when her little fairy side comes in handy! Ye Shuang, a sweet smile on her lips, ran over and exclaimed, "Daddy, Mommy, you're back!"

Li Mantian caught her with lightning speed, then scooped her up and held her in his arms: "Oh my, our Shuang'er came out to greet Daddy? Shuang'er is so sensible! What did our Shuang'er do this morning?"

Seeing that the grief and sadness on Li Mantian's face had been largely washed away by his smile, Ye Shuang smiled with satisfaction: "I didn't do anything this morning. It was so boring following my brother. Father, can you take me out this afternoon?"

Li Mantian pursed his lips, pondered for a moment, looked at Ye Shuang's expectant little eyes, and finally shook his head: "No, how about this, Mother won't go out this afternoon. With Mother here, Shuang'er won't be bored, okay?"

Ye Shuang pouted. Although her ultimate goal wasn't to get out, she was still a little annoyed that she could be trapped in this tiny courtyard so easily. "Alright then, it's fine with Mother here."

Upon hearing this, Madam Li chuckled softly: "Are you satisfied now, my little darling?"

Ye Shuang nodded seriously, as if being alone with Li Wenyi at home made her feel extremely wronged!

Li Wenyi felt so wronged. Ye Shuang slept most of the morning, and he stood guard at the door, not daring to move, for fear that the little darling inside might summon him at any moment. He didn't even dare to concentrate too much on his reading, for fear of missing the slightest movement inside.

Sigh! But what's the use of even if he speaks up? His parents don't even see him anymore. He's so humble, he can't even express his suffering!

At noon, Li heated up some of yesterday's dishes, cleverly avoiding meat, and only heated up a small plate of meat for Ye Shuang and Li Wenyi each: "You two are growing, eat quickly, especially you, you're going out to help with your father this afternoon, you can't go hungry."

Looking at the wild boar meat in the bowl, which had been almost minced for her to eat, Ye Shuang began to doubt for the first time whether she had set the fire correctly. In fact, the old woman didn't have much time left to live; she was just too angry to bear it...

"Shuang'er, what's wrong?" Li asked, looking at Ye Shuang who was still in a daze. "Don't you like this? How about I heat up something else for you?"

Ye Shuang quickly shook her head: "How could that be? Mother's cooking is so good, I like to eat whatever she makes."

After saying that, she quickly picked up her bowl and chopsticks and began to eat heartily.

Seeing Ye Shuang eating with relish, Li Shi finally felt relieved. However, thinking of the unfortunate person in that family, she couldn't help but sigh again: "It really is..."

Li Mantian also sighed: "No matter what, things will get better in the future. We just need to get through this."

What kind of riddles were these two talking about? Ye Shuang was completely confused. But as a child, how could she possibly interrupt? She could only obediently finish her meal, letting Li Shi wipe her mouth and clean her up before sending her back to her bedroom.

After finishing his meal, Li Mantian took Li Wenyi out. They were short-handed over there. Li Shi had been exhausted all morning. After seeing the father and son off, she lay down on the bed, feeling very tired, and fell asleep in no time.
