Chapter 39. Shuang'er was as well-behaved as ever today.

Ye Shuang only stopped when she started sweating from the dryness.

Now that she has cultivated her powers, it's quite remarkable that she can still make him sweat.

When she stopped, she realized that everyone around her was looking at her with smiles in their eyes. It wasn't just Li Mantian and Li Shi around her, but also the villagers working in the fields next door.

"Oh my, this must be the Li family's daughter? She's so adorable."

"No wonder he hid at home all winter and wouldn't let us see him. He's so sensible. Was he afraid we would take him away?"

"Hey, you know what, I actually kind of want to take her away. She's so young and already knows how to help with chores at home, unlike my son, who just goes out to play all day."

"The Li family really knows how to raise children. Look at Li Wenyi, he's one of the best young men in the village!"

...

Ye Shuang ran behind Li Shi somewhat shyly, then tilted her head and peeked at them. This cute little action caused a burst of laughter from the people around her.

Madam Li chuckled and patted Ye Shuang's head, saying, "Shuang'er, don't be afraid. It's because everyone likes you!"

Li Mantian chuckled a few times and said to the people around him, "Alright, alright, let's get back to work. It's not like my daughter won't be coming out anymore."

"Look at this stingy guy, he's really afraid we'll steal it, isn't he?"

"Hahaha, it's not impossible for a robber like you!"

"Pah! You're the robber!"

After saying that, everyone laughed. They worked while laughing, and didn't feel like they had too much work to do.

Li Mantian didn't have much land, and since Li Shi and Li Wenyi were both used to working, and Ye Shuang not only didn't cause trouble but also helped a lot, they basically finished loosening the soil in just one morning.

Li Mantian considered it and decided that he would still plant potatoes most of the time. However, since Shuang'er was born this year, the child needed to eat more wheat to grow strong, so he would also need to reserve some space to plant wheat, as well as some miscellaneous vegetables, which would be good for cooking for Li's family.

Ye Shuang looked at this small piece of land, then turned to look at Li Mantian, who was planning the area in the field. She used to think that ordinary people had it easy, that they didn't have to worry about anything as long as they were alive. But now it seems that he has to worry about the harvest and the food and drink of his family. It's not easy for him!

A wisp of spiritual energy flowed from her fingertip into Li Mantian's soil. What a joke! With her around, how could the family go hungry?

The sun had unknowingly risen high in the sky, and the sunlight was becoming intense; it was almost lunchtime.

Li walked over to Ye Shuang, half-squatted down, took her little hand, and asked, "Shuang'er, do you want to go home with your mother to cook lunch? The sun is getting strong, and it wouldn't be good if you got sunburned."

Ye Shuang hesitated for a moment, looking at Li Mantian who was accompanied by Li Wenyi, and thinking of the lonely Li Shi, she nodded and said, "I'll go back with Mother, otherwise Mother will be all alone."

Madam Li couldn't help but smile: "Oh my, our Shuang'er is so good, still thinking that her mother is all alone? Can you still walk? Do you want her mother to carry you?"

Ye Shuang, holding her small wooden plow, shook her head and said earnestly, "I can walk by myself, and Mother has been tired all morning."

Li's heart was warmed and comforted by her words, and she wished she could keep her in her heart forever. However, it was really late now. She touched Ye Shuang's forehead and found that she was not sweating much. Only then did she get up and take her hand to walk home.
