Chapter 7 Dad, I want that~

Finally, watching Li Wenyi grimace as he boarded the oxcart, Ye Shuang smiled with satisfaction. Let him touch her however he wanted, let him experience the double attack from his parents—it would be absolutely exhilarating!

Ye Shuang waved to Li Shi, who was seeing them off at the door, and said, "Mother, we're leaving. You should go back now; it's cold outside."

As Li Wenyi watched the little thing become more and more adept at pleasing her parents, tears welled up in his eyes. "It's over," he thought, "am I doomed to be ruined by this girl for the rest of my life?" With that thought, he felt utterly hopeless.

The more Li looked at the little girl, the more she liked her. Whether it was her round head, her round black eyes, or her small cherry lips, she loved her no matter what. "Alright, alright, Mother will go back now. Be careful out there and come back soon!"

The oxcart slowly started moving, with Li Mantian leading the ox and occasionally glancing at the two people on it.

"Li Wenyi, take good care of your sister."

Li Wenyi froze, slowly withdrawing his hand that was about to poke Ye Shuang's cheek.

Ye Shuang curled the corners of her lips, tucked herself into the blanket, closed her eyes, and went to sleep. Her adoptive father had said that the market was still some distance away, and since her injury, she had become very sleepy, which was a sign of insufficient spiritual energy. However, there was nothing she could do about it and she could only take it slowly.

Li Wenyi was the first to notice Ye Shuang, who was already asleep. He gently covered her head with the blanket to make sure it didn't obstruct her breathing and to block out the cold wind to a great extent.

When Ye Shuang woke up again, she was gently shaken awake by Li Wenyi: "Shuang'er~ it's time to get up, we've arrived."

Ye Shuang opened her eyes in a daze, her chubby little hands rubbing the corners of her eyes, which were still teary from sleepiness.

Li Wenyi's heart softened at the sight, and he completely forgot about his previous complaints. What bad intentions could a child have? She was just a bit mischievous.

Li Mantian secured the car and reached out to hug Ye Shuang: "Shuang'er, did you sleep well?"

Ye Shuang shook her head, wrapped her arms around his neck, and rested her head against his neck, looking lazy and unwilling to speak.

Li Mantian smiled, took out a piece of candy from his pocket and stuffed it into Ye Shuang's mouth: "Eat something sweet to wake up. Later, just tell your father if there's anything you like."

Ye Shuang lazily stared at the side with her eyes half open, only the sweet taste in her mouth intensely assaulting her taste buds. She must not have eaten sugar for hundreds of years.

It wasn't until the surroundings became a bit noisy that Ye Shuang looked up and took a look around.

The once neat streets were now lined with all sorts of vendors. Some pushed carts, others carried loads on shoulder poles, and still others simply laid out a cloth on the ground to display their goods.

Everyone tries their best to show their kindest side, exhausting their words just to earn an extra penny. At peak times, the crowds are so dense that they jostle shoulder to shoulder, all to compare prices and find the best value for money.

Ye Shuang lost all interest in the noise. It was worse than the lowest level street in the cultivation world. And the things displayed here would not even be worthy of her a glance under normal circumstances.

However, thinking about how they left Li Shi alone at home when they left, Ye Shuang's eyes lowered and her emotions shifted. Finally, she poked Li Mantian's neck and whispered in his ear, "Dad, I want that."
