Chapter 32 Monsters in the Goblin Tribe

Just as Carl and Hope were carefully exploring the canyon, in the goblin camp deep in the canyon, several skinny figures were surrounding the corpse of a giant lizard.

They had no heads, and their four skinny arms were waving around randomly, stuffing the torn monitor lizard meat into the two mouths in their chests.

From the appearance, this monster looks like two ordinary goblins fused together.

But they obviously lack sufficient wisdom.

"Ah! Kakafuga!"

Suddenly, one of the monsters raised its head and stopped eating.

He staggered to the tribe's weapons warehouse, then passed through the tunnel that was accidentally opened by the rust monster and came to the underground ceremony site.

The area around the black stone sword is now filled with goblin corpses. At this moment, two of the goblin corpses are slowly merging under the black energy released by the black stone sword.

The monster hurriedly crawled to the side of the big sword. As a bloody energy was drawn out of his body, the goblin corpse finally completed the final fusion.

The newly born monsters crawled on the ground in the same way, and the monster whose blood energy had been drained away weakly got up and left the underground ritual site with the newly born monsters.

As their figures disappeared from the ritual site, new black energy surged out from the Blackstone Greatsword and selected the corpses of two more goblins.

Coming out from underground, the two monsters returned to the monitor lizard's corpse and started a new round of eating.

The new monster still carried some of the power of the Black Stone Greatsword in its body, which caused the giant lizards in the fence in the distance to start to stir.

But because of long-term breeding, they have no intention of resisting.

After finishing their meal, the monsters no longer went to the underground ritual site, but instead picked up various weapons beside them and began wandering around the tribe, as if they were on guard against something.

I don't know how much time had passed before two sneaky figures appeared outside the goblin tribe.

Looking at the monster wandering at the entrance of the tribe, one of the figures asked his companion beside him: "Karl! What is that thing!"

The people who came were Carl and Hope. After walking carefully for more than three hours, they finally arrived at the goblin tribe deep in the canyon.

"Hmm~, hiss~, I can't really tell, it looks a bit like a hideous mutant."

"A ferocious, mutated monster? What is that?"

"It is said that this is a monster transformed by ancient evil demons using goblins. I have only seen it a few times in textbooks."

Looking at the strange figure in the distance, Carl's brows hidden under the power armor gradually frowned.

Although there may not necessarily be evil spirits around the hideous monsters, these twisted monsters are naturally the representatives of evil.

In Eberron, sentences like "inherently evil..." are mostly subjective evaluations.

Because of the special design of the entire universe by the creator dragons, the vast starry sky isolates the influence of the gods, and also means that the vast majority of intelligent life on the planet Eberron do not have the concept of "innate camp tendency."

In the Baldur's Gate 3 game that Carl once played, the red dragon represented chaotic evil.

But in Eberron, the camp that each dragon ultimately belongs to is entirely determined by the three views that they develop after birth.

There are both good and lawful red dragons and evil and chaotic gold dragons.

Even the mind flayers, creatures from the alien plane of the Kingdom of Madness, have emerged as some lawful and good individuals after breaking away from the influence of the Kingdom of Madness.

But as a species created by the top evil demons at that time, the hideous mutant is one of the few representatives of "innate evil".

These cruel guys are hostile to all alien races and are loyal lackeys of the evil spirits.

"What should we do now? Should we just charge in?"

Weighing the axe in his hand, Hope looked eager to try.

"Wait a minute, I'll seduce him."

As he spoke, Carl raised his left arm and aimed at the hideous monster in the distance.

As the pulley and bowstring turned, a magic crossbow arrow cut through the air and hit the monster's body directly.

"Plop"

The hideous monster fell to the ground and never got up again.

Carl: “…”

Hope: "...Where's the seduction you agreed on? How is this different from me taking direct action?"

"Ahem, sorry, I made a mistake. Let's just sneak in. Call me if anything happens!"

After coughing awkwardly twice, Carl no longer restricted Hope's movements. The two of them split up and slipped into the goblin tribe.

However, just as Carl climbed over the wall, he heard the screams of some hideous monster from Hope's side.

The sound was so loud that Carl felt he could hear it even if he was standing at the entrance of the canyon.

"Alas, why would I expect a barbarian to kill these monsters quietly? Didn't I just rush through them when I played Assassin's Creed?"

Patting the helmet of the power armor, Carl no longer hid his figure. Relying on the excellent power enhancement of the power armor, he jumped more than two meters high and came directly to the arrow tower of the tribe.

"biubiubiu..."

The magic crossbow and the lightning launcher on the chest were activated one after another. The electric light and the azure blue magic crossbow actually briefly created a feeling of fire suppression.

Several of the hideous monsters that were attracted by their companions' screams before death fell in this round of long-range attacks by Carl.

However, a few people realized the danger and hid in the dark and shot crossbows at Carl.

"bite!"

A broken crossbow arrow hit Carl's power armor. Because the arrow head was rotten and it was shot at a high altitude, the arrow was directly bounced away by the power armor.

"Wow! My goodness, they can even hit me? These guys don't look that simple! Do they have a profession?"

Although the Hideous Anomalies generally only have 8 points of intelligence attribute, they can indeed obtain professions.

But they are usually warriors, wanderers, etc.

But there is a kind of rugged monster transformed from the earth elves which is different. They can even practice to become monks.

Seeing that the enemy actually launched a counterattack against him and even hit him, Carl did not dare to be arrogant anymore. Instead, he relied on the arrow tower wall which was only two meters high to shrink his body.

He did not forget the defensive capabilities of his power armor.

To put it bluntly, it's just a layer of iron covering an exoskeleton frame.

"It would be great if I had a magic missile wand. I could kill at least one person with one magic shot."

The main attack power of the artificer is concentrated on magic props, among which the magic wand is particularly prominent.

In the medieval period when Eberron's civilization was still in its infancy, wands usually only had 7 or 8 charges, and when they ran out they had to wait for a recharge.

But thanks to the optimization of successive artificers, Eberron's wands now have a maximum charge of 50 rounds.

The artificer can also perform emergency recharging of the wand.
