Chapter 91: Fracture
Startled by Jiang He's sudden voice, Zhang Yi was so frightened that he dared not move.
Jiang He looked back and saw that Doctor Liu's clinic had also disappeared. She and Zhang Yi were standing on a narrow tile. The floor was surrounded by densely packed lavender tumors, which were wriggling and undulating as if they were breathing in and out.
"Stomach tissue." Zhang Yi, who often dissected bodies, immediately recognized it. "We look like we're in someone's stomach, but are stomachs really that big? We didn't crawl into anyone's mouth, so how did we get into the stomach?"
The tiles beneath his feet were crumbling, and Zhang Yi huddled down, not daring to breathe. "This huge stomach seems to be digesting us. Look down there, there's a lot of stomach acid and mucus bubbling out."
"We are doomed." Zhang Yi murmured. Although he was afraid before life and death, he also felt calm as if he had accepted his fate.
He turned to Jiang He and said, "Xiao Jiang, although..."
Jiang He looked around without turning his head, "Call me Iron Fist Tyrant."
Zhang Yi thought of the series of rewards on her screen, all calling her "baba".
Why does a good girl like to be a boss?
He sighed inwardly, but then he realized they wouldn't be together much longer, so fulfilling her wish was fine. "Baba, even though you're an escaped prisoner and others think you're unforgivable, I think you're a good person. You don't kill when you rob, and you always leave a piece of underwear when you strip someone. You understand the hardship of secondhand store owners and never bargain."
He pointed out Jiang He's countless shining strengths before continuing, "Baba, you are a man of integrity. You risked your life to break into the lab for your companions. I truly admire you. I'm honored to die here with you."
Jiang He had her back to him, looking up at something, as if she didn't hear anything and didn't even turn her head.
Zhang Yi's passion was high for a long time, but it felt like a stone sinking into the ocean. He felt uncomfortable all over and said with grievance and resentment, "Baba, do you have anything to say to me?"
"Shut up."
"Okay."
In Jiang He's palm, the thick and long tentacles suddenly stabbed towards the wriggling bulges in front.
The bulge was punctured, and out fell a slime-covered robot. Its body had been corroded beyond recognition, but Zhang Yi recognized it immediately when he saw the sharp spikes on its head. "This is one of those robots that were causing trouble in the hospital before. This spike on its head can release electricity. It's quite powerful."
Halfway through his words, he suddenly remembered and asked Jiang He: "Why is he here?"
Jiang He didn't know that she had punctured several more agitated ground bags.
These sacs are all filled with people, some of which have been corroded to the point that only bones remain, while some barely have a human shape.
Although Zhang Yi was timid, he often experimented on test subjects, so this kind of scene didn't affect him. He and Jiang He analyzed, "These people must be the ones causing trouble in the hospital. Were we also drawn in because of the medical disturbance?"
Jiang He asked him, "Did we have a medical dispute?"
Zhang Yi immediately shook his head and said firmly, "No, we are not causing trouble for the doctor."
Jiang He's tentacles popped out again.
This time the tentacle pierced into a piece of soft flesh tissue, and the big mouth on the tentacle opened wide, chewing the meat with a crunching sound.
Zhang Yi heard the crunching sounds of the tentacles and asked Jiang He, "Can your thing chew up this stomach completely?"
The gastric juice had already reached the soles of his feet and spread onto the floor. Zhang Yi trembled with fear, "Will this gastric juice corrode your tentacles?"
Jiang He didn't say anything. Her other tentacle pierced into the soft flesh above, picked up one of Zhang Yi's arms, and flew to the top with him.
Zhang Yi: ...I am an ordinary academic genius, and I was led astray by others.
Jiang He's big tentacles stirred up a big hole in the soft flesh tissue above. The soft flesh kept squirming, and the hole was gradually closing. Jiang He grabbed Zhang Yi and rushed into the hole together.
Little A asked worriedly, "My Queen, do you need any help from the pets?"
"No need." Jiang He said briefly, and followed Zhang Yi out of the tunnel full of mucus. When he looked up, he found himself in an office.
There were several middle-aged men with big bellies in the office, their faces flushed as if they were arguing about something. Standing at the door was Dr. Jing, whom they had met before. He had his arms folded across his chest, as if he was isolated from the crowd. It was not until Jiang He and Zhang Yi fell to the ground that he raised his eyes and stared at the two of them in surprise.
There was a moment of silence in the office because of the two people rolling down out of nowhere.
"Someone can actually crawl out of Taotie's stomach." One of the middle-aged men in a suit and tie looked at the two with interest. "Interesting, what's their ability?"
Jiang He stood up and took out a tissue from the tissue box on one of the desks to wipe the nasty mucus off his face.
Zhang Yi felt that Jiang He was being too rude, but it was uncomfortable to have so much mucus on his face. Since he was already being rude, it didn't matter if he had one more.
Zhang Yi also took out a stack of papers and stood silently behind Jiang He.
Another middle-aged man, slightly younger, stood up and stared at the two men with a stern expression: "Who are you? What are your abilities?"
He had a very big mouth, and when he spoke, it almost split to his cheeks. Jiang He smelled a familiar smell on him. The stomach that swallowed them belonged to this big-mouthed man.
The tentacle in her palm popped out quickly, but stopped when it was just inches away from the man.
An invisible transparent cover separated her from the big-mouthed man.
She glanced around and saw that everyone else had disdainful expressions on their faces. Some of them even sneered, "How childish! Why are there always some clueless guys who want to bump into us?"
These people took her attack lightly, as if they felt that she could not hurt them.
Jiang He refused to believe it, so she opened her hands, and the other tentacles on her palms shot out one after another in an instant, wrapping around the necks of other people.
This time the transparent cover was not deployed in time. Although a few tentacles touched the transparent cover, the other tentacles all succeeded, strangling the necks of several people and hanging them in mid-air.
"Hurry and put the dean down," said the man in the suit who spoke first. "Let's talk it over. If you have any requests, let's discuss it. These are the most authoritative people. No matter what your problem is, we can solve it. Don't hurt the dean and the others. If they get even a scratch, you won't be able to leave today. I will make sure you're wiped out."
Although the other party was flustered and his words were not fluent, he used a combination of soft and hard tactics to get his point across.
The loudmouthed man also said: "That's not necessary, that's not necessary, just talk it out, stop using your hands, and put him down."
Jiang He: "I was just scared by your stomach."
Zhang Yi glared at the other person and added timidly, "You almost scared us to death. We're asking for compensation for emotional distress."
Loudmouth: "Okay, no problem. I'll give you one million points. Put that person down."
Zhang Yi: ...With so many points, they're probably trying to sting the system, right? "One million?"
The loudmouthed man said, "One million per person. If you think that's not enough, we can discuss it. Let everyone go, and I'll treat you to a meal. We'll agree on a price at the table."
Jiang He: "Sure, I also want to visit the hospital."
The hospital is not a grocery market, you can just go shopping there whenever you want?
The loudmouthed man turned his head to look at the man in the suit. The man's face darkened, but he still suppressed his displeasure and said, "Sure, no problem."
Zhang Yi: "Give me two boxes of tissue paper."
This paper is very useful. If you take it home and save it, it can last for a few days.
The big mouth man's sun shuddered: "I'll give you a box, put everyone down quickly."
Zhang Yi was stunned for a moment, then said from the bottom of his heart, "Hey, you are such a nice person!"
He simply ignored the other person's next request.
Doctor Jing, who had been standing at the doorway like an outsider, spoke up at this moment, "The director and his team are having an important meeting. Since the two patients have already been settled, how about I, a free man, show you around the hospital?"
Jiang He glanced around and saw that the expressions on the others' faces became subtle in an instant, as if they wanted to say something but hesitated. But in the end, they all remained silent and did not express any opinions.
This Dr. Jing is either extremely unpopular or very popular.
A moment later, Jiang He walked beside Dr. Jing, seemingly holding hands with him, but in fact his tentacles were wrapped around his wrist.
Zhang Yi followed behind the two of them, holding a box of tissues. He was so weak that he walked unsteadily, but he held the box tightly and stubbornly.
Although Dr. Jing was a hostage, he remained extremely calm. Passing doctors and nurses greeted him, and he smiled and nodded. He turned to Jiang He and said, "My name is Jing. I specialize in treating various difficult and complicated diseases. I wonder if you have any hidden illness?"
Jiang He: "Since it's a hidden illness, how can I know it myself?"
Zhang Yi rolled his eyes in the back, "Quack."
After Zhang Yi was almost cheated out of all his savings by Dr. Liu, who was good at calling souls, he no longer had a good impression of these doctors.
Doctor Jing acted as if he hadn't heard anything and continued to smile at Jiang He. "Have you been feeling a burning sensation in your abdomen, thirsty and irritable lately, or feeling a constant surge of anger?"
Zhang Yi added: "If you have a sore throat, just drink more hot water."
Just drink more hot water.
This sentence sounds strangely familiar.
Jiang He suddenly remembered that the consumptive patient had said the same thing before?
Doctor Jing was not angry when Zhang Yi retorted. He looked into Jiang He's eyes and continued, "If it's just the beginning, drinking more hot water will indeed help, but I guess you haven't been drinking much water."
Jiang He: ...definitely not.
Doctor Jing took out a business card from his pocket and handed it to Jiang He. "Next time you come to the hospital, you can make an appointment with me. Bring me your business card and you'll get a 30% discount on the registration fee and an 20% discount on the medical expenses."
Jiang He took the business card and thought that Dr. Jing was very interesting.
She asked, "What is my hidden disease?"
Doctor Jing: "I can't draw a conclusion just by taking a quick look. This time was too hasty. Next time you come, I'll give you a full physical examination."
He added, "It's not expensive. I can get a discount on my business card."
Zhang Yi snorted coldly, "You want to break our bones?"
They keep saying discounts, but they have already hung the dean up and humiliated him. If they come again next time, it will be strange if the dean doesn't eat them up.
It is impossible to come back here, and now I have to worry about whether I can return home alive with two million.
