Qin Sheng had already found the source of the audio before leaving home today, and had basically determined who was behind the fake recording incident.
But she didn't understand what the other person's purpose was in doing this.
Although there had indeed been some minor conflicts, Qin Sheng felt that it was just a few words exchanged and it wasn't worth going to such lengths to punish her.
Well, just getting someone to reproduce that level of recording would cost tens of millions.
We also need various marketing accounts and trending topics.
Anyway, Qin Sheng felt that she would never waste money like that just to prank someone.
There must be another purpose behind it.
So although Qin Sheng found some evidence, he kept it all to himself for the time being, and prepared to see what other moves the other party would make.
Just then, a tall figure appeared in the center of the stage. Qin Sheng looked at the woman's back not far away and tapped the table lightly with his fingertips.
Hmm, what are you planning to do?
A staff member from the competition knocked on the door of the soundproof room, asking them to take a break during the intermission and participate in the competition's activities.
Wan Feng frowned: "An event? What event? This isn't mentioned in the agreement, is it?"
The staff member pointed to the woman in the center of the stage and smiled, saying, "Because the organizers invited actress Jiang Yinghou at the last minute, we had to insert a live interactive segment."
He paused, then continued, "Of course, as Mr. Wan said, this is an activity outside the contract, so our boss said that as long as you cooperate, we can give you an extra million."
“It won’t be written into the contract; it’s entirely your personal income,” the staff member added.
One million, so each person can get an average of two hundred thousand.
It's just part of a promotion, and this price is quite high.
However, Wan Feng's brows were still furrowed tightly: "This isn't about the money. We're here to compete. You've notified us of this last-minute event, and we haven't prepared at all. If something goes wrong, who will be responsible, you or us?"
Most importantly...
Wan Feng's eyes turned slightly cold: "Actress Jiang announced this morning that she would be coming to the competition. Even if it's a last-minute event, it should have been rehearsed and arranged in advance. What do you take us for, asking us to cooperate with this event now?"
Are you so sure they'll compromise for that million?
If it had been half a day or even a few hours earlier, Wan Feng wouldn't have been so angry. But the other party deliberately chose the gap between the end of their first performance and the start of the second, and even after Jiang Yinghou had taken the stage, they came to notify them.
It's quite obvious that they don't take them seriously at all.
They don't even have the most basic respect.
The staff member thought he was just there to give a notification, and that as long as they told them about the matter and the benefits, the other party would immediately and happily agree.
But I never expected that Wan Feng would be so difficult to deal with.
Aren't they just a bunch of clueless nerds who can only play video games and are like little kids? They actually think they're something special?
The staff member's face turned cold.
He glanced at the four people behind Wan Feng and said, "You're not willing either?"
Po Tian and the other two subconsciously looked at Qin Sheng, but seeing that she was still sitting there casually playing with the mineral water bottle in her hand, they immediately turned their gaze away.
He didn't speak or move, acting as if to say, "What are you saying? I don't know anything, I didn't see anything."
This infuriated the staff.
His expression turned even colder, and he was too lazy to maintain his previous politeness anymore. He sneered, "You guys come out to play e-sports, isn't it all about making money and becoming famous? Now the money is right in front of you, and you're given the chance to interact with Actress Jiang on stage and become famous. What are you still putting on airs for?"
"Isn't it all just a guilty conscience? Worried about losing face during the event later?" The staff member raised his chin, glancing at the five people. "You're really a bunch of useless trash who can't do anything but play games!"
"If you don't want to participate, then you don't have to. It's not that rare."
They hadn't really expected them to cooperate with the event; they just needed to use this bunch of good-for-nothings to highlight their young master's intelligence, wisdom, and martial prowess.
If you don't have it, you don't have it.
It would be the same to just pick a few people at the scene.
Thinking this, the staff member didn't bother arguing with them anymore, glanced at them disdainfully, and turned to leave.
Just then, a calm and even voice rang out from behind: "Stop."
The staff member paused, a mocking smile playing on his lips.
After waiting for two seconds, he slowly turned around, still with the same disdainful look as before, and sneered, "What, changed your mind?"
Qin Sheng lifted her eyes to look at him.
A pair of almond-shaped eyes, clear and bright, pure and clean, seemingly holding the brilliance of stars and moon, yet also seemingly tempered by the coldness of frost and snow, sending chills down one's spine at first glance.
The staff member unconsciously took a step back.
Qin Sheng withdrew her gaze and casually hummed in agreement: "Pay the money first."
The staff member then came to his senses, chuckled inwardly, but said nothing more.
After all, he had come on a mission. Even if the other party was unwilling to cooperate, he would still be scolded for his incompetence.
Now that they are willing to cooperate, that's certainly the best thing.
Not wanting to cause any further trouble, the staff member casually pulled out a one million dollar check that had been prepared beforehand and tossed it on the table, saying in a calm voice, "Split the money yourselves. Get ready, you'll be on stage in five minutes."
He glanced at Qin Sheng again and said, "Take off that mask."
Qin Sheng ignored him.
He grabbed the check and stuffed it haphazardly into his coat pocket as he got up from his seat.
He nodded to Wan Feng and the other three: "Let's go."
The four of them then came to their senses and wanted to say something, but when they met Qin Sheng's indifferent gaze, they swallowed their words and obediently followed her out.
They acted as if it were nothing, even though it was blatantly obvious.
The staff were furious.
He instinctively wanted to step forward and pull Qin Sheng, but before he could make a move, Qin Sheng stopped in his tracks.
She turned her head to look and said, "I have a bad temper."
The staff member was stunned, not understanding what she meant.
Then I heard a "pop" sound.
A blue bottle cap suddenly shot out, hit the wall of the soundproof room, and bounced back quickly, drawing an arc in the air before falling to the ground.
Finally, it spun around in a circle and stopped right in front of the staff member's toes.
The icy mineral water poured over their heads, soaking the staff from head to toe.
That cool female voice rang out again: "So, don't mess with me."
After saying that, he turned and walked out.
It wasn't until the five figures disappeared on the other side of the stage that the staff suddenly came to their senses, and were so angry that they almost overturned the table in front of them!
But he immediately realized where he was and managed to stop his impulse.
Just as he was about to complain to his boss, he caught a glimpse of light out of the corner of his eye, and his eyes lit up.
He immediately looked stunned.
