As early as when Qin Yanshu learned that the Qin family had moved to Tiandu, she had already asked her cousin from the Hu family to find out where the Qin family lived.
The Qin family didn't try to hide it, so Qin Yanshu found out very easily.
But this was the first time they actually came to my door.
Looking at the tranquil environment and the excellent security measures in the neighborhood, Qin Yanshu's eyes flashed with a complex expression.
Although they were reluctant to admit it, they had to acknowledge that the Qin family had long since surpassed the Hu family and risen to become one of the second-tier families in Tiandu.
This is also the dream that her cousin and uncle have been pursuing but have never been able to realize.
Qin Yanshu's hands, hanging at her sides, unconsciously tightened, but in just a moment, she smiled, stepped forward, and pressed the door number of the Qin family villa on the access control at the gate of the community.
While waiting for the call to connect, she explained rather embarrassedly, "My parents' divorce was quite unpleasant. I live with my mother, and she has never allowed me to have any contact with my family, so this is my first time here."
Dean Mu nodded in understanding, but felt even more pity for the little girl.
It's truly remarkable that someone with such a troubled family background could still grow up so healthy and positive.
Zhai Shaobo, a boy who had come over with her, couldn't help but glance at her a few more times. His gaze was rather peculiar.
However, he didn't say much and just listened quietly to their conversation.
While Qin Yanshu and Dean Mu were talking, the access control bell finally stopped, and a servant-like figure appeared on the access control screen.
It's Sister Li.
On Li Sao's end, the scene in front of the gate was also projected. She stared at the familiar yet unfamiliar face of the girl on the screen and couldn't react for a long time.
It wasn't until Wang Shujun's voice came that she quickly came to her senses and said, "It's Da..."
Aunt Li instinctively wanted to say "eldest young lady," but then realized it wasn't right and changed her words to "Miss Yan Shu."
She glanced at the screen on the walkie-talkie, then held the microphone a little further away before lowering her voice and saying, "Grandma, should I open the door?"
Wang Shujun was stunned for a long time until Aunt Li reminded her again before she came to her senses. After hesitating for a moment, she nodded and said, "Go ahead."
Aunt Li then pressed the unlock button.
After thinking for a moment, he quickly walked towards the door.
When she saw Qin Yanshu from afar, she smiled and said, "Miss Yanshu, you've arrived."
They've arrived.
Instead of coming back.
Qin Yanshu's fingers tightened, and a dark glint seemed to flash in her eyes.
When she turned her head and saw Wang Shujun behind Li Sao, she immediately showed a bright smile.
She called out "Grandma" as she ran to greet her.
He immediately took her arm.
Her movements and smile were exactly the same as when she was a child, as if none of those things had ever happened.
Wang Shujun was momentarily dazed.
Looking at his granddaughter's smiling face so close to his, he felt a little complicated, but in the end he just patted her hand and said, "Since you're here, come inside."
Qin Yanshu nodded with a smile, not forgetting to look back at the door and said, "Dean Mu, Senior Zhai, let's go in together."
Dean Mu smiled, greeted Wang Shujun, and then followed.
Aunt Li opened her mouth, but hesitated and ultimately said nothing more.
On the contrary, Wang Shujun realized what was happening as soon as Dean Mu approached.
He glanced at Qin Yanshu, his expression softening slightly, and asked, "Yanyan, who are these two?"
Qin Yanshu introduced with a smile: "This is Dean Mu of the School of Physics at Tianjin University of Aeronautics and Astronautics."
He pointed to the boy behind Dean Mu and continued, "This is my senior at school, Senior Zhai. Senior Zhai and I studied under the same teacher, so strictly speaking, he should be my senior brother."
Wang Shujun's expression became even more indifferent. She didn't say anything more and just stared at her.
Feeling guilty under her gaze, Qin Yanshu subconsciously avoided eye contact and looked upstairs, changing the subject by asking, "Where are Grandpa and Second Aunt? Aren't they home?"
Looking at her granddaughter, Wang Shujun realized that even though Qin Yanshu seemed to have changed a lot in the past year, some things were ingrained in her bones and could not be hidden no matter how she tried to hide them. She could tell at a glance that Qin Yanshu's true intentions were not what they seemed.
Her heart, which had just softened a little, hardened again, and she said bluntly, "Just tell me why you came back this time."
Qin Yanshu was surprised that even though she had deliberately avoided those sensitive topics, Wang Shujun was still unwilling to maintain even a semblance of harmony.
I felt both heartbroken and wronged.
Her eyes immediately welled up with tears: "Grandma, I haven't been back for over a year, and you haven't seen me for over a year. We finally met, and instead of caring about how I'm doing, you're just being cold-hearted."
As she spoke, tears streamed down her face: "You and Grandpa both said you would always protect and take care of me, so why is everything different after only a year!"
"I know I haven't fulfilled my duty as a granddaughter this year, and I haven't been able to be filial to you. It was Qin Sheng and Qin Zhao who accompanied you and took care of you. But no matter what, I am still your granddaughter!"
"How could you do this to me..."
The more Qin Yanshu spoke, the more aggrieved she felt. What had started as a suppressed sob turned into a torrent of tears falling like beads from a broken string.
Not to mention Wang Shujun and Aunt Li, even Dean Mu and Zhai Shaobo, who came with them, were so shocked that their mouths were agape.
They were surprised by the way the grandmother and granddaughter got along, and also by Qin Yanshu's ability to cry and feel wronged so easily.
