Chapter 9 No, the teacher can't agree to that.

“Sheng Sheng…”

As Gu Yueming watched the slender figure gradually walk away, she finally couldn't help but utter the name that had lingered in her heart a thousand times.

Her eyes gradually reddened.

Gu Yueming left dejectedly, not even remembering to say goodbye to the remaining Director Wang.

Director Wang glanced in the direction Qin Sheng left, then in the direction Gu Yueming went, a thoughtful look flashing across his eyes.

It seems they might have been getting some things wrong all along...

Gu Yueming didn't come to her senses until she left the school gate. She looked around at the bustling street and, after a long while, took out her phone.

"Ah Zheng, I... I saw Sheng Sheng."

"I saw some thugs trying to bully her, so I couldn't help myself..."

“She…she…” Gu Yueming’s voice gradually choked up, and finally she couldn’t help but cry. “She told me not to waste my time on her.”

On the other end of the phone.

Listening to Gu Yueming's intermittent description, Qin Zheng finally roughly understood what had happened.

He pressed his temples and softened his voice to comfort her, "Don't cry, I'll handle this."

Gu Yueming was extremely flustered and quickly asked, "How do you plan to solve this?"

She was met with a long silence.

It was a long time, so long that Gu Yueming thought Qin Zheng was just comforting her, when the man's incredibly low and hoarse voice finally came from the phone.

Qin Zheng said, "Seventeen years have passed. We've prepared long enough. It's time."

Gu Yueming's heart tightened: "But what about Sheng Sheng..."

Qin Zheng sighed softly, "We've wronged her, so let's try our best to make it up to her after I've resolved everything, okay?"

"As for those who have hurt her, I will not let any of them go!"

Qin Sheng's expression had returned to its usual cool and aloof demeanor, only her slightly pursed lips betrayed her somewhat troubled mood.

She paused, then suddenly changed direction and headed towards the teachers' office on the third floor.

The bell for morning self-study has already rung. The teachers are either in charge of the morning reading or making inspections. There are hardly any people on the entire third floor.

Qin Sheng walked through the stairwell, turned a corner, and finally stopped in front of the first Chinese language group office.

Just then, someone came out from inside.

"Qin Sheng?" Wen Muyun was surprised for a moment, then breathed a sigh of relief, "It's good that you're alright."

Qin Sheng's eyebrows twitched, and she called out, "Teacher Wen."

Wen Muyun smiled gently: "Is there something you need to talk to the teacher about? Come in and let's talk."

Qin Sheng nodded and followed Wen Muyun into the office.

"Xiao Sheng," Wen Muyun said, holding a thermos in his hand, after carefully considering his words, "I've heard about what happened on Tieba, but I know that someone is slandering you. Don't take it too seriously. I'll find a way to resolve this."

"You just need to focus on your studies, okay?"

Qin Sheng was aware of what was going on on Tieba and didn't care much. She directly stated her purpose: "Teacher Wen, I want to drop out of school."

It's "want" rather than "desire," so the attitude is already very clear.

Wen Muyun was stunned for a moment, then became anxious: "Xiao Sheng, if it's for the sake of the forum, you really don't need to..."

"It's not Tieba," Qin Sheng interrupted her, looking up. "It's a personal issue for me. I have more important things to do."

Wen Muyun opened her mouth, wanting to say that at her age, what could be more important than studying? But when she met the girl's cool eyes, she involuntarily swallowed the words back.

She paused, then shook her head: "No, the teacher can't agree to that."

Qin Sheng pursed her lips: "Teacher Wen..."

This time, it was Wen Muyun who interrupted Qin Sheng. She reached out and held one of Qin Sheng's hands, her tone sincere and earnest: "Xiao Sheng, you are the smartest and most intelligent student I have ever met. No matter what it is, your teacher does not want you to give up your studies."

“If you have something you feel you absolutely must do, then the teacher can give you a leave slip, for a week, a month, it’s all fine, but dropping out of school,” Wen Muyun shook his head, “I won’t agree to that.”

Qin Sheng looked at her.

The woman's eyes held a gentle yet stubborn light, carrying with them her usual tolerance and tenderness.

Qin Sheng's heart stirred, and a "good" slipped from her lips.

She couldn't refuse Wen Muyun like this.

It wasn't just because of what she said, but also because this person was one of only two people who showed her kindness during the two years she was unconscious.

A joyful smile immediately bloomed on Wen Muyun's face.

She patted Qin Sheng on the shoulder again: "Alright, go back to class if there's nothing else. You can come to the teacher anytime you need to ask for leave."

Class 1, Grade 12.

"Quiet down! What are you all doing? If you're not going to do morning reading, get out of here!"

A shout rang out, accompanied by the sound of a pointer striking the podium. The noisy classroom fell silent for a moment, but only for a few seconds before whispers began again.

"It really is Qin Sheng. She actually came back. I thought she wasn't going back to school."

"Why not go back? She didn't do anything wrong. If anyone should be not coming, it should be Pei Yu."

"Hehe, so you don't believe what's said on Tieba either. I thought I was the only one who was sober while everyone else was drunk."

He was met with a chorus of scoffs.

One boy said, "We must be out of our minds to be led astray by those kinds of nonsense posts!"

"Who's that? That's Qin Xiaosheng, the real high-and-mighty beauty in our class. If she could even be interested in someone like Pei Yu, I wouldn't have been beaten up and dared not leave the house for ten days!"

Everyone nodded in agreement.

Outsiders might not know, but the boys in Class 1 who had tried to pursue Qin Sheng and ended up getting beaten up and crying for their boss knew very well that she was exceptionally difficult to deal with.

Let alone asking her to actively seduce anyone, if someone could catch her eye for even a second, they would be absolutely astonished.

Just as they were talking animatedly, a loud "bang" rang out, startling all the students.

Everyone instinctively looked toward the source of the sound.

Liang Shuzhen nearly broke the two-finger-thick pointer in her hand before finally attracting the students' attention, her chest heaving with anger.

"Class One, do you people even deserve to be students in Class One?!"

"You lack ambition and drive. In all the years I've taught top classes, this is the first time I've encountered students like you!"

"No wonder we can never beat Class 2 in the exams, no wonder we're being overtaken by Class 3 and Class 4, it's all because of you cancerous cells!"

Liang Shuzhen's gaze swept over the boys in the last three rows, finally landing on the girl in the third-to-last row by the window, her eyes filled with even more sarcasm.

"Some girls, just because they're pretty, really think they're goddesses. They even think they're still the top scorers in the high school entrance exam. They're nothing but troublemakers!"

"Class One is getting worse and worse because of trash like you!"

"No wonder he can be someone's prized student. Like teacher, like student!"

Qin Sheng suddenly looked up, her eyes cold and sharp.
