Chapter 7: Appetite, Meat Buns, and Dogs

Chapter 7: Appetite, Meat Buns, and Dogs

"Han Huai? What a coincidence?"

Yang Zhao pushed open the shop door, smiled and sat down next to him.

"Unfortunately, nowadays, they come more often than Sister Xiao Zhao."

Deng Shan brought water to the two of them and greeted them with a smile. Yang Zhao, the social tough guy, and Deng Shan, the tough guy, had long been friends, and the two of them could get together and chatter so much that Du Yanze would be annoyed and hide away.

Han Huai, however, did not show any impatience. He just listened to them quietly. Occasionally, when he heard them say something he did not understand, he would just be stunned but did not interrupt.

But he still glanced at the baking room intentionally or unintentionally, as if he was very concerned that Du Yanze had not shown up today.

"Ah." Han Huai picked up the water cup, took a sip, and spit it out the next second.

"Xiao Shan, how much lemon juice is put in this? It's so sour." This time, Han Huai was so sour that he stood directly next to the water dispenser to drink.

Yang Zhao looked at him calmly, his brows slightly relaxed. This was SDD's medicine, and even if Fork had a strong sense of smell, he would definitely not be able to smell the sour taste in the water.

Normal Fork has no sense of taste, so it is impossible for it to taste sour.

Tang Zhilu drank it without changing his expression, and even ate the piece of opera without changing his expression, which allowed them to confirm Fork's identity. However, due to the process, they could not confirm that he was potentially dangerous, so SDD could not intervene.

"It's so lively today."

Du Yanze took off his helmet as he walked. He had just come here on a small electric donkey. It was hot outside and his forehead was covered with sweat. As soon as he came in, he walked to Han Huai to get some water.

When Han Huai saw him, he seemed relieved and turned slightly to let him drink the water, but he did not move away from him and his expression remained normal.

"Du Yanze." Du Yanze looked at the two girls who were chatting happily and lowered his voice.

"My name." His tone softened and he looked up at Han Huai without a smile on his face.

Han Huai immediately breathed a sigh of relief and even looked at him with gratitude, as if he was glad that Du Yanze showed his trust in him.

"It's getting late. Shanshan, you go first. Be careful on the road." As soon as Du Yanze finished speaking, Yang Zhao showed a look of wanting more, and immediately stood up together with him.

"Then I'll take Shanshan back. Let's go."

Han Huai waited until the two figures were completely out of sight before he spoke.

"Tang Zhilu is very likely Fork, you have to be careful."

"Who?" Du Yanze remained calm, frowning and looking confused.

Han Huai said anxiously, "He should have come to your store a few days ago, wearing formal clothes and glasses."

"I heard from my colleagues in the president's office that he walked alone from the back street a few days ago, and he told the driver to wait for him here. If he hasn't come to see you, you should pay more attention."

"How do you know he is targeting me?" Du Yanze looked disapproving, but his brows were furrowed.

"Some time ago, his assistant brought him some documents. I found a chance to talk to him and saw your name. He is investigating you."

Han Huai took a deep breath and advised him, "I have been secretly observing him for a long time. He is most likely Fork. His overly keen sense of smell and weak appetite..."

"Thank you for telling me this..." Du Yanze's brows relaxed slightly, as if he was convinced. "But I can't leave here, and I can't abandon this store... I will be careful"

Han Huai seemed a little anxious after hearing this, and immediately took a deep breath: "You are Cake, be careful, there is no use being careful. Do you know what Fork is? You don't know how dangerous this matter is."

"No Fork will let a Cake walk around safely under his nose. No matter what they say, saying they love you or like you, it's all fake. It's just an excuse to hunt you."

"They are just beasts, they only have appetite. They eat people, you know? They cut your flesh with a knife and eat you, just like people eat chicken, duck and fish. Even if you are lucky enough to survive and be rescued, you will probably be disabled..."

"Do you understand?"

Du Yanze leaned back slightly, light and shadow intertwined, dark shadows were cast on his face, his eyelashes drooped slightly and the emotion in his eyes was unclear.

"Sorry, I lost my composure." Han Huai looked at Du Yanze apologetically, his face turning pale.

"It's okay. I know."

Cakes are no different from ordinary people, and there is no way to tell who will become a Cake and who is a Cake. Most Cakes who know their identities must have been attacked.

"Are you also..." Du Yanze's face was pale, and he looked up at Han Huai. There was just the right amount of fear in his eyes, and some eagerness to find the same kind of hope.

"No, I'm not." Han Huai rubbed his face with his hands and sighed: "I'm just an ordinary person, but unfortunately I'm deprived of the happiness of knowing nothing like a truly ordinary person."

jingle……

The doorbell rang softly and Du Yanze looked up.

Tang Zhilu walked in slowly. He glanced at the two people in the store and focused his eyes on Du Yanze.

"Busy?"

Han Huai's face froze, and he immediately stood up and bowed to greet him: "Mr. Tang."

Tang Zhilu raised his hand to stop him, slowly wiping his fingers and the small piece of table in front of him with disinfectant wipes, and said calmly without looking up: "It's time to get off work, no need."

Han Huai was obviously a little stiff. He nodded slightly to Du Yanze and pushed the door open and left.

"It seems that Mr. Tang is not a kind and friendly boss. He turns around and leaves when he sees you." Du Yanze put away his panic-stricken expression, slowly pulled out a chair and sat opposite him.

"Maybe it's because my acting skills are not as good as yours." Du Yanze thought Tang Zhilu would not respond, but he didn't expect him to be so good at choking.

"A Mont Blanc." Tang Zhilu flipped through the menu slowly and looked at Du Yanze opposite him.

Du Yanze tilted his head and stared at Tang Zhilu, his eyes making no effort to hide his scrutiny, as if he was admiring his manners, or as if he was looking at some strange animal.

"You can't taste anything, can't you save me some trouble?" Du Yanze sneered and ridiculed him bluntly.

Tang Zhilu was very calm. His gold-rimmed half-frame glasses made him look like an elite that could not be concealed. There was no warmth in his eyes. He said calmly, "I am a customer. You don't plan to do business with me?"

Du Yanze reached out and took the menu from his hand, and replied with a smile: "How can that be possible? I spent so much effort to fish you out here. I wish I could hug your thighs and beg you not to leave."

He walked away without looking back. Tang Zhilu knew that he couldn't trust a word he said, but hearing him say that made him feel itchy inside, and the cold air from the air conditioner couldn't make him feel cooler.

He leaned back in his chair and looked at Du Yanze under the warm yellow light. His hands were white and slender, without any scars. He whipped the butter and kneaded the puff pastry skillfully and neatly, which was pleasing to the eye.

What's more, he has a face like that. When he slightly lowers his head and half-closes his eyelashes, he has a kind of delicate beauty, which makes people feel that he needs protection.

Who would have thought that such a person could break someone's neck with one hand? But the more Tang Zhilu understood, the more itchy and restless he became.

"You really don't even want to pretend anymore." Du Yanze came out with a plate of food. "Take that look off your face, it's too beastly."

Tang Zhilu just laughed and continued to admire it carefully for a while.

Mont Blanc is also a classic French dessert. It is shaped like a small mountain. The sponge cake and meringue form a tower. Du Yanze replaced the thick chestnut cream with a lighter Earl Grey tea flavored cream. The frosting that simulates fine snow is also very restrained.

It just looks good and doesn't taste too sweet.

"It looks delicious." Tang Zhilu picked up the small silver fork, looked at Du Yanze across from him and asked him, "But was there any drug in it today?"

Tang Zhilu knew that he had been exposed, so it was not difficult for him to guess where the problem was.

Du Yanze stretched lazily and bared his teeth in a wicked smile, but he had not yet taken off the strawberry hairpin that fixed his hair, looking very innocent.

"It was given. It was an aphrodisiac."

Tang Zhilu nodded and put it into his mouth without hesitation. It seemed that he didn't care or was expecting him to do so.

"Yang Zhao calls me every night, worried that she will be N+1. Mr. Tang, what are your plans? Are you going to pay her salary next month?"

Tang Zhilu finished eating, wiped his hands and answered him. His lenses reflected a cold light under the light. His tone was steady, without any special emotion.

"Since she joined the company, she has not made any major mistakes in her work, nor has she leaked any commercial secrets. She has only leaked some insignificant information. Tang's is also running well, and there are no plans to lay off employees for the time being."

But there was a sense of control. He knew that Yang Zhao was not a simple person, and he should even know Han Huai's little thoughts, but for him, these were all controllable risks.

He seems tolerant, but in fact he has a big appetite.

As expected, Tang Zhilu looked at him and said, "I want to pay you a salary next month and make you my personal dessert chef. How about that?"

Du Yanze knew that he wanted to keep this unstable factor under his nose, which was actually in line with his mission. But Du Yanze was ready to make a move, and the more indifferent and controlling he was, the more Du Yanze wanted to see him collapse and lose control.

"Not so good... You are Fork and I am Cake. I am afraid that I will be gnawed to pieces."

Du Yanze held his cheek and blinked, forcing out a look of fear. "I'm scared."

Tang Zhilu didn't care at all about the subtext of calling him a dog.

"According to the evaluation, your store can only earn 10,000 yuan a month at most, excluding labor, materials, rent, and utilities. And your apartment is no more than 50 square meters, and the monthly rent is 4,000 to 5,000 yuan..."

"Agree to my terms, 60,000 a month. I'll help you find an agent for the store, and you can come over anytime. Move to the Tang residence, save on rent, utilities, and the food expenses will be deducted from your salary, so you'll get at least 50,000 a month."

"I won't ask outside of working hours."

Du Yanze was stunned for once, and was stunned by what he heard. Tang Zhilu spoke calmly, occasionally pushing up his glasses to look at Du Yanze, who was rarely stunned.

He thought Tang Zhilu would say something tentative and ambiguous to him to tease him.

"Now, are you still scared?"

Du Yanze was sure that if Yang Zhao was here, she would probably kneel down and kowtow to thank the Lord for his grace.

"You...really..." Du Yanze's mouth twitched. He knew that Tang Zhilu was sure that he would agree.

If you insist on saying that, you're just teasing him.

Now he can actually keep up with Tang Zhilu's dry humor...

"You have such a big appetite. Aren't you afraid of bursting your belly?"

Du Yanze couldn't hold back his rebelliousness any longer, so he reached out and pulled out his tie, then pulled it tight and moved closer to him. Tang Zhilu's calm and indifferent look suddenly changed, revealing a bit of danger like a beast smelling blood.

Du Yanze moved closer to Tang Zhilu's lips and looked up into his sharp eyes.

"Thank you for the compliment. It's really appreciated." Tang Zhilu replied.

Then he closed his eyes as if he was enduring something, and the veins on his forehead silently foreshadowed that he was losing control.

Du Yanze felt that this was much more pleasing to the eye. Just as he was about to let go of her hand, he suddenly felt a scorching heat on his wrist. The high body temperature made him resist subconsciously.

Tang Zhilu threw away his glasses with one hand, and his eyes slowly slid from his eyes to his lips. His eyes were so calm, but as if they were real, they made Du Yanze's spine tingle.

Their lips touched and the dishes fell to the ground with a crisp sound.
