Chapter 15: Another Confrontation 3

Wei Qingfeng rushed in like a gust of wind and rushed directly towards Wei Qingshan. His roar shook the roof and dust fell down: "Wei Qingshan! You actually still remember to come home! Our parents are gone! What are you doing back here?"

Wei Ci wanted to reach out to stop them, but the two brothers didn't give her a chance and started fighting with punches and slaps. From the current point of view, the person being beaten was Wei Qingfeng. She had spent the longest time with her second brother since she woke up, so naturally she felt the most sorry for him.

"Sister Wei, you'd better not interfere. This is a special way of showing affection between your two brothers. You're so thin, you might get hurt by mistake if you go."

The tall soldier with an unshaven beard stopped Wei Ci from going forward. He was quite interested in watching the hand-to-hand combat between his boss and his two brothers. He was watching with great interest and almost cracked a handful of melon seeds while enjoying it.

After the two brothers finished their special communication, everyone sat down and started chatting. The two brothers had bruises on their faces.

Brothers are real brothers, and when they fight, they really fight, and they always hit the most obvious parts of the face.

"Why was my little sister sold? Why did something happen to my parents?"

He just received a telegram with only a few words, and after completing the task, he hurried back. Who knew that as soon as he arrived at the door, he heard the argument between Aci and Aunt San.

Thinking of his parents and what had happened recently, Wei Qingfeng wiped his face and his eyes turned red. His face, which already had one eye bruised, looked even more funny and pitiful.

"My parents had this incident half a month ago when they were returning from paying their taxes..."

Wei Qingfeng told the whole story in detail. He mentioned the tragic deaths of his parents and the time when his younger sister was sold. He was so emotional that the veins on his forehead popped out.

Wei Qingshan drummed his fingers on the table, frowned in thought, and didn't say a word for a long time.

"You said your parents weren't on the list of people who were supposed to receive the public grain?"

The voice of the person who spoke was low and pure, like a guqin. Wei Ci looked over curiously. It was a man who had a low presence when he was silent, but attracted everyone's attention as soon as he opened his mouth. He had a crew cut, well-defined facial features, and deep and profound eyebrows. Looking closely, his pupils were so green that they were almost black.

Wei Qingshan then remembered to introduce his comrades and brothers to his younger siblings: "They are all my comrades, you can just call them brother, of course uncle is also fine, after all, they are all quite old."

Humph, don’t think he didn’t see how bright the eyes of these guys were when they looked at Ah Ci. Even rabbits don’t eat grass near their burrows. This is his sister, and also the sister of these animals. No one should have any bad intentions towards her.

Several people rolled their eyes at him. What uncle? How could they be old?

Wei Qingfeng didn't pay attention to his elder brother's inexplicable protectiveness. He thought about it carefully and replied to the man: "Yes, originally, the tax payment was a rotation among the families in the village.

We already sent grain last year, so this year it was my second and third uncles' turn. I don't know what happened in between, but in the end, my parents went to pay the grain tax on their behalf, along with other uncles. Nearly thirty people went, but only four or five survived."

The man frowned, feeling that something was wrong, but he couldn't figure out what was so strange about it.

"Are you doubting that my parents' deaths weren't accidents? That the second and third wives were responsible? But that's unlikely. The sky was clear that morning. Who could have predicted that there would be a thunderstorm and heavy rain in the evening?"

Wei Qingfeng scratched his head. At first he also suspected that people from the second and third houses wanted to harm his parents, but then he thought, it is impossible for them to know about the storm in advance, so how could they be the culprits who killed his parents?

The man raised his eyebrows and looked at Wei Qingshan. The tacit understanding of many years made the two of them stop talking and listen quietly to Wei Qingfeng's continued story. When he heard that Wei Qinghao and Wei Qingmiao sold Wei Ci, who was not yet conscious at the time, to human traffickers, Wei Qingshan's face turned black. He clenched his fists, and the strong blue veins on the back of his hands bulged. He had a vague urge to punch someone to death.

When Wei Qingshan heard that Wei Ci had saved not only himself but also others with her clever little brain, and by the way, uncovered a potential undercover, his face began to flicker between confusion and pride.

He was troubled by the fact that his sister encountered danger and got into trouble as soon as she woke up, but he was proud that she was worthy of being his sister. She had his style, was not afraid of evil forces, was brave to take responsibility, and had a quick mind.

Wei Ci's face turned red when she was praised, and she felt very embarrassed. She had never been praised like this before. She was praised as if she was the Bodhisattva Guanyin who saves people from suffering, the only thing missing was a halo on her head and a pure bottle in her hand.

"Aci did the right thing!"

Wei Qingshan finally had a look of joy on his face. He opened the big bag he brought with him and took out the things inside. Apart from his own set of clothes, the rest were things he bought for his sister.

"I don't know what you like, so I picked out some things that city girls like and bought you a few. If you want anything else, tell me and I will definitely buy it for you!"

Wei Ci glanced at the pile of things in front of her, then looked at the pitiful figure in front of her second brother. She couldn't help but smile. The dimples on her lips bloomed instantly, and her big, round peach blossom eyes narrowed into crescents: "Thank you, big brother. I like it very much."

The blue-eyed man sitting in the shadows raised his head, quietly watching the interaction between the three siblings, listening carefully to their conversation, and subconsciously began to analyze the content of their conversation. Finally, his gaze rested on the dimples on the little girl's lips, and after a long time he lowered his eyes to hide the amazement in his eyes.

[Beep~]

Wei Ci tilted her head and looked around blankly. What was that sound?

"What's wrong?"

Wei Qingshan rubbed the little girl's soft black hair, his eyes full of doting and tenderness.
