Chapter 144 Strange People

Chapter 144 Strange People

This time, Mu Qingyu didn't wait in the space. She left the space with peace of mind, took out a warm sleeping bag, and slept soundly on the sofa on the fifth floor.

Mu Qingyu slowly woke up around seven o'clock the next morning.

Outside, the yellow sand still filled the sky, with no sign of dawn. The sand and gravel pattered against the windowpane, making a soft, rustling sound.

Mu Qingyu entered the space again.

She felt that the space was brighter than last time, the grove had expanded, and the trees were growing amazingly fast, with the saplings growing two meters tall in an instant.

Mu Qingyu could still hear birds chirping from the branches of the grove.

The pool expanded a little more, but the fish and shrimp in it visibly grew larger!

Mu Qingyu drank a few mouthfuls of water from the pool, and the water became extremely sweet, a taste that no artificial beverage could match!

After drinking it, Mu Qingyu felt even more energetic. Although she had only slept for less than four hours, she felt extremely refreshed and even felt full, as if she didn't need to eat breakfast.

However, Mu Qingyu still drank a bottle of milk before leaving the space. She repacked herself—she was leaving to find her next destination.

Instead of returning the way she came, Mu Qingyu used the map saved on her tablet to take another route, heading straight for the eastern district of City A.

The East District is home to several universities, as well as the Municipal Library and the Municipal Gymnasium. Because of the university area, there are also many shops, food streets, and student areas.

Mu Qingyu had no interest in the university or the gymnasium; her target was the municipal library and then the shops on the commercial street.

As they continued forward, the number of buildings and zombies gradually increased.

The abandoned vehicles she picked up along the way had already filled Mu Qingyu's ability space. Further ahead, there might be humans appearing, so it wasn't a good time to use the monster-gathering trick anymore.

Mu Qingyu then switched from the off-road vehicle to a motorcycle and continued on her way.

As they entered a more densely populated residential area, the number of zombies visibly increased. Mu Qingyu threw out several vehicles to clear the way for waves of zombies, wanting nothing more than to leave the area as quickly as possible.

Although there were many shops on both sides of the road, and even two supermarkets, Mu Qingyu had no intention of going in.

There are bound to be survivors in this kind of residential area. The shops have most likely already been searched, and even if there are still things left, they will be scattered. Mu Qingyu didn't want to waste that effort.

Just as she was about to leave the residential area, Mu Qingyu discovered a theater.

This theater was a stand-alone building with only three floors. Such a place obviously wouldn't have many supplies, but Mu Qingyu, with her sharp eyes, spotted the large water tank on the top floor.

Finding the water tank was also one of Mu Qingyu's purposes for this trip, and since theaters are generally not inhabited, there is a high probability that the water tank still contains a large amount of water.

So Mu Qingyu rode her bike over without hesitation.

A large number of zombies had gathered outside the theater. The dense high-rise buildings here shielded them from much of the wind, and the zombies walked with a steady gait.

Mu Qingyu had no choice but to put away her motorcycle and begin hacking at the zombies with her Tang sword. She continued until she reached the theater entrance.

However, when Mu Qingyu was studying the door lock, she discovered that the theater door was locked from the inside.

Someone's there? Mu Qingyu frowned.

She thought for a moment, then turned to leave—since there were people inside, she didn't plan to take the water tank; it was a way to give them a chance to survive.

However, just as Mu Qingyu was about to turn around, the theater door suddenly clicked open from the inside.

Mu Qingyu took a few steps back, watching the movements inside with some vigilance.

A short while later, a young and pretty face peeked out from behind the door. A girl with a ponytail squinted through the swirling yellow sand and said, "Hello, you're looking for a shelter, right? Come in quickly, I saw you killing zombies. Hurry up, they're about to swarm over again."

So proactive? Mu Qingyu was worried that there might be a trap, and was about to shake her head to refuse the offer when she heard the sound of a car driving in from behind.

The girl, who had been a little nervous, jumped up excitedly: "They're back! Brother Xiao and the others are back!"

Then you see a vehicle smashing into a wandering zombie, and then five people get out of the car and quickly clear out the zombies in the vicinity.

Then he called out to the girl and the heavily bundled-up Mu Qingyu, "You've got something! Come help us move these things!"

"Okay!" the girl replied loudly, giving Mu Qingyu a gentle push. "Let's go help! You're so lucky! We haven't had any food for days, and Brother Xiao and the others came back just as you arrived!"

Mu Qingyu was shocked by the girl's complete lack of wariness.

However, this also piqued her curiosity about these people. Since she was already here, and there were people around, she figured she might as well ask them about the situation in the city.

In her earlier life, Mu Qingyu didn't have her own house and had to hide from place to place.

At first, she could only avoid the zombies by going to some unfinished buildings in the suburbs and trying to hide in the upper floors. There was nothing in the unfinished buildings, and in order to keep warm and avoid the rain, she even stripped clothes off the dead.

As more people died, some houses became available for residents. However, the apartment buildings were constantly being attacked by zombies, looters, and robbers, so residents couldn't stay there for long.

In her past life, Mu Qingyu was like a homeless person who would find a place to stay whenever she could.

Looking back now, she doesn't know how she survived in such extreme weather and an environment teeming with zombies.
