Chapter 47 Elimination!

Chapter Forty-Seven: Elimination

Mu Qingyu dodged, and the woman inside the house screamed.

Mu Qingyu ignored the others; the man's reaction speed made her realize he was also a superhuman. She used her second military dagger to chase after him.

The man was completely naked, but he didn't care at all. He rolled on the spot to the door and then ran out the door to escape.

Mu Qingyu's second thrust missed, and she immediately chased after him towards the door—it didn't matter if it was the others, but this person absolutely could not be allowed to escape!

As they reached the doorway, the ground suddenly bulged up abruptly, and a spike rose from the ground, aiming straight for Mu Qingyu's face.

Mu Qingyu paused, realizing it was too late to dodge. She could only face the earth spike head-on, raising her arms to block it as it collided with her.

The earth spikes didn't pierce Mu Qingyu's arm; instead, they scattered on the ground after impacting it. Mu Qingyu was relieved. Although she was surprised that this person was an earth-type ability user, it was clear that his ability level was not high and his power was not strong.

The man had already stopped, waiting for the earth spikes to injure Mu Qingyu before retaliating. However, Mu Qingyu withstood the attack head-on, and the earth spikes shattered first. The man was shocked and finally realized that he had met his match.

He turned to run away again, but three sharp, whistling sounds came from behind him, and the man, caught off guard, had no way to dodge.

With a series of "thuds," three sharp arrows pierced the man's chest. The man paused, and Mu Qingyu seized the opportunity to catch up from behind, her military dagger once again aimed at the man's chest.

The man immediately sensed the danger of death, but instead of turning to deal with Mu Qingyu, he fixed his venomous eyes on Mu Qingrong, who had fired three arrows at him.

Then a burr flew up in front of Mu Qingrong's eyes, heading straight for her chest!

With a "thud," the military dagger in Mu Qingyu's hand pierced the man's heart. As she forcefully pulled out the dagger, the man collapsed to the ground.

With a loud thud, Mu Qingrong's back slammed heavily against the door. Mu Qingyu looked up and realized that the man had launched a final attack before he died, attempting to kill Mu Qingrong.

Mu Qingyu ran to Mu Qingrong in alarm, only to find that the soil spike was hovering less than two centimeters from Mu Qingrong's chest, suspended in mid-air.

As the man breathed his last, the earth spikes turned back into dust and drifted away.

Mu Qingrong looked terrified and stood with her back against the door for a long time before she could react.

A psychic ability! It was Xiao Mo! It was Xiao Mo who saved Mu Qingrong's life at the crucial moment! Mu Qingyu breathed a sigh of relief, but also regretted her carelessness, which had given the enemy an opportunity.

If it weren't for Xiao Mo stopping that thorn... the consequences... Mu Qingyu broke out in a cold sweat just thinking about it.

"Sister...I..."

"ah--"

Before Mu Qingrong could speak, a woman's scream came from behind Mu Qingyu.

Mu Qingyu turned around and saw that the woman from the house was also standing in the courtyard. At this moment, her body slowly fell to the ground. As she fell, something flew out of the woman's phone and slid to Mu Qingyu's feet.

Mu Qingyu's pupils contracted—a gun! It was actually a handgun! Although it was crude and obviously not a proper product, that didn't stop it from being a handgun that could kill!

After the woman fell, a small figure stood behind her, holding a blood-stained dagger in his hand. His breathing was heavy, and he was still trembling slightly.

Mu Qingyu recognized him; he was the child who innocently called her "sister" outside the convenience store at the gas station, trying to lure her inside.

Mu Qingyu looked at the child with complicated emotions. Undoubtedly, that child had saved her. She had planned everything, but she hadn't anticipated that these people would have guns.

“They deserve to die, don’t they!” The child’s voice was still trembling, but still very loud.

Mu Qingyu suddenly remembered that there was an injured man in another room!

Before she could even speak to the child, she rushed into another room. The man inside was trying to escape through the window, but because he had broken his coccyx the day before, he was having great difficulty moving. It took him a while to climb onto the windowsill before Mu Qingyu caught up and came in.

"Don't kill me! Please don't kill me! I...we still have supplies, we still have money...I know where they're hidden, I know everything...I...please don't kill me, spare my life..."

Seeing no hope of escape, the man simply knelt on the ground, weeping uncontrollably and kowtowing repeatedly to Mu Qingyu.

Mu Qingyu didn't ask him about the money and supplies. She simply asked, "In the past, those victims you found also begged you like this, didn't they? Did you let them go?"

"Huh?" The man was stunned, not realizing what Mu Qingyu meant by suddenly saying this.

“You didn’t.” Mu Qingyu concluded to herself, then stepped forward to the man, thrusting her military dagger through his chest, ending his sinful life.

Even in death, the man's eyes held fear and bewildered confusion.

Back in the courtyard, Mu Qingrong was dutifully guarding Mu Qingyu's back, seemingly having recovered from the life-or-death moment just now.

The boy, dressed neatly, stood in the yard, holding the three-year-old child who had been placed in another room, with a girl who was half a head shorter than him standing beside him.

The girl was tightly clutching the boy's sleeve, nestled close to him. Apart from the younger child sleeping soundly in his arms, the other two children were staring intently at Mu Qingyu, as if awaiting her judgment.

Their eyes were all pitch black, devoid of fear or tension. Mu Qingyu found it hard to describe what kind of look they had; it seemed to be carefree and fearless, yet also like a prayer for light.

"Are there any other people with them?" Mu Qingyu asked the boy.

The boy shook his head, having long since regained his composure, as if killing someone had had no impact on his mind: "Two died on the way, and two children died too. That's all the people who got here."

"Are there any more guns?" Mu Qingyu continued to ask.

The boy continued to shake his head: "Just one. It originally belonged to Yu Biaozi. There weren't many bullets, and Yu Biaozi kept them close to his body. Because of tonight... that's why the old woman was able to get it..." Even when mentioning the sordid things that happened in the house tonight, his tone didn't fluctuate much. He just omitted the details, thinking that Mu Qingyu would understand.

Mu Qingyu thought for a moment and said, "If these people die, their supplies will belong to me. However, you can take some of them. As for whether you leave or stay, that's your own business, I don't care."
