Contract Conclusion

Contract Conclusion

“Even if you had no intention of harming anyone, you are to blame for your master’s death.” She pointed her sword at him, her face flushed.

"Senior sister..." He no longer dared to hope for Lin Yueyao's forgiveness, and stepped forward with a breathless sigh.

Pfft—

The sword pierced through the clothes and entered the flesh, causing blood to flow in a stream.

"Prince—"

The guards rushed forward from a distance. Rong Yan, enduring the pain and drenched in cold sweat, roared, "Don't come any closer—"

He blocked the guards from getting close, while he himself moved forward.

"Did you think I wouldn't dare kill you?" Lin Yueyao choked back tears, her fingertips trembling. At this moment, Wen Qing was like a hot potato, burning through her hands, burning away her last shred of reason.

He's ruthless enough to know how to exploit her weaknesses.

"To die under my senior sister's sword... I can die in peace." Rong Yan's breath was barely a whisper, a faint smile on his face, his lips and teeth stained red with blood as he opened and closed his mouth.

"Shut up..." She couldn't be soft-hearted. With a determined heart, she pulled Wenqing out of his body, but Rong Yan grabbed the blade with his bare hands halfway through.

"Senior sister, kill me."

Blood dripped from between his fingers; his palm was cut by Wen Qing, and thick black smoke emanated from the wound.

Lin Yueyao hated him intensely, but the thought of so many memories made her feel as if she weighed a ton. She glared at him with her deep eyes, her heart hardening, and channeled her spiritual power into Wenqing.

With a sizzling sound, Wenqing ejected a gushing stream of blood from his body.

"I knew it." Rong Yan let out a painful groan, kneeling on one knee. As a half-demon, facing a spiritual weapon like Wenqing would only result in severe injury to his body. But after the pain subsided, he smiled sadly.

"Senior sister can't hurt me."

“That’s impossible.” Lin Yueyao retorted instinctively, not understanding why Wenqing wouldn’t obey her.

"I don't want to hurt you," he explained calmly, a smug look on his face.

Lin Yueyao was utterly ashamed and desperate, and grabbed his neck. She didn't know if she had fallen in love with Rong Yan. Wenqing was her spiritual sword, and they were of one mind. Wenqing knew exactly what she was thinking.

His wound was still bleeding profusely, and he endured the pain, his gaze towards her burning and unrestrained, grinning to reveal his beautiful pearly teeth.

"Even if you don't admit it, Wenqing won't lie."

Love prevailed, and Rong Yan, as the victor, laughed heartily even though he was being choked by her like a weakling and was in so much pain that he couldn't breathe.

The hand wrapped around his neck suddenly tightened, and Lin Yueyao really had the urge to strangle him. He couldn't breathe, and his throat felt tight.

"It hurts..." he pleaded, "Senior sister, it hurts..."

"Wenqing, kill him!"

This time, he was truly determined to kill her. Wen Qing obediently floated up and hovered around Rong Yan, hesitating to take another step.

"You're not even listening to me anymore?!" Lin Yueyao exclaimed angrily. "Have you forgotten who your master is?!"

Unable to make a move, Wenqing simply extinguished the light on its own and flew into the top of its head.

It was true; Wen Qing really couldn't touch him. Lin Yueyao refused to accept this fact; Rong Yan was being strangled to the point of near death by her.

The guards nearby were itching to make a move, but dared not act rashly.

Rong Yan's face was pale and stiff; his body was extremely weak after stabbing him with a sword.

Lin Yueyao tried to remain calm, but the bloody facts were right in front of her, and those words that broke the ice shattered her regained rationality.

Rong Yan cannot die yet; her master's spiritual root has not been found, and she cannot let him go so easily.

Just as he was about to stop, Ku Bei sensed that his master was in danger, ran out, and injured Lin Yueyao with a sword.

She was thrown dozens of miles away, and after fighting for many days, she was exhausted and overwhelmed.

Reborn, Rong Yan hurriedly regained his composure. His guards rushed forward, surrounding him, "Your Highness—"

"I will kill this female demon right now to avenge the prince."

One of the guards drew his sword and charged at Lin Yueyao, but before he could react, Rong Yan stabbed him in the back with his sword.

"Get out of my way," he said, forcing his injured body to walk step by step toward Lin Yueyao's location.

Yellow sand filled the sky, sandstorms swept across the desert, and tornadoes roared like demons.

In the vast desert, besides the guards, there was only him and his senior sister.

He knelt down, cupped Lin Yueyao's face in his hands, and said devoutly, "I used to regard my senior sister as family, and I just wanted to be by her side."

"I put in a hundred times the effort for this, but later I found that I could never keep up with my senior sister. She never only cared about me." He couldn't learn to be content. Whatever he got, he wanted even more.

He once naively believed that he and his senior sister were a match made in heaven, and that he was naturally attracted to her, so he always wanted to be with her.

"So I think, as long as my senior sister is by my side, that's enough." He smiled, imagining a wonderful future together. "That way, I'll be very happy."

Lin Yueyao had been struck by his sword and was now powerless to listen to his nonsense. She wanted to investigate whether he possessed her master's spiritual root.

Halfway there, Rong Yan grabbed her hands, and Lin Yueyao said insincerely, refusing to accept the truth, "You're crazy."

"I didn't!" he said, his voice emphasizing as he gripped her hand tightly. "Senior sister, believe me, I will prove it to you."

"How can you prove it?" Ignoring his coercion, she broke free from his restraints and searched his body, only to find her hand covered in blood.

"It doesn't hurt, it doesn't hurt at all. I'm not angry with my senior sister." He smiled in a chilling way as he comforted her.

"Stop talking." She didn't want to hear it; now she wanted to find her master's spiritual root. Rong Yan's wound was still bleeding, and her hands were stained red. She tried her best to shake off the strange unease. Lin Yueyao found nothing, but finally sensed traces of her master's existence in his spiritual pouch.

She reached out, her five fingers probing outwards, as if entering another dimension.

A pair of colorful mandarin duck pendants floated out, exactly the same pair that Wu Jinfeng had given her.

"What is this?" Having experienced too much joy and sorrow, Lin Yueyao's thoughts were frozen, and she even forgot what to say.

“My senior sister’s is a perfect match for mine.”

Due to excessive blood loss, Rong Yan's face was pale, and his voice was weak and light, like a kite with a broken string, as if it could drift away at any moment.

After he finished speaking, the jade pendant in Lin Yueyao's sachet flew out freely, and the two jade pendants merged into one.

The Wencai Mandarin Duck Pendant can forge a bond between a human and a demon, but Wu Jinfeng did not tell her that if one party is not willing, the contract will fail.

A contract can only be successfully concluded if the man is in love and the woman is willing.

These two jade pendants were a gift he received from Wu Jinfeng when he first recognized her as his sister.

At that time, he had thought of giving another piece to his senior sister, but he couldn't find a reason to give it away. He was also afraid that his senior sister would leave him if she knew his feelings. By chance, he gave it to her.

Now, the two jade pendants have been combined into one, which is enough to prove the sincerity of both parties.

Rong Yan watched all this with delight, the light emanating from the jade pendant enveloping the two of them.

Wherever the light touched, the body could not move an inch, the blood vessels froze, as if petrified.

This is a sign of a contract that is as solid as a rock and unshakeable.

The light was so dazzling that no one knew what had happened between the two. The formation of the contract was no less than the fusion of souls, a spiritual plunder and oppression, an entanglement of equal strength, inseparable and hard to part.

It goes without saying who the praiseers are and who the victors and vanquished are.

The two jade pendants merged into a wisp of pure energy, which split into two streams and adorned the space between the eyebrows.

It becomes an ambiguous and persistent mark, lingering for a lifetime and impossible to erase.

I don't know how long I've been asleep. When I heard crying, I opened my eyes and saw someone sitting by the bed.

It was his aunt, Yunxiu. Rong Yan felt a bitter taste in his mouth and couldn't utter a sound.

Seeing that he was awake, Yunxiu took out her handkerchief to wipe away her tears, her sorrow turning to joy, "Good child, you're awake."

He was still somewhat dazed, as if he had just woken up from a dream.

I felt a burning sensation on my forehead, touched something, got out of bed, and ran to the bronze mirror.

The reflection in the mirror remained unchanged, except for a bright red mark between the eyebrows, resembling an Yinglong (a mythical dragon).

It wasn't a dream after all; it was all real.

"Auntie, where is my senior sister?" He excitedly grasped Yunxiu's hands, disregarding his weak body after just waking up.

"Are you talking about that female monk?"

"It's her! She's my fairy partner! Where is she now? I need to see her!" Rong Yan was so eager to see her that Yun Xiu's face turned pale instantly.

"Don't worry, she's resting in her room right now. You can go see her when she wakes up." Yunxiu pressed his shoulder and pushed him towards the table.

The table was laden with food, human fare. Yunxiu was worried that he wouldn't be used to home cooking, so she specially found a human chef to prepare it.

Rong Yan gave a perfunctory thank you, but his mind was elsewhere.

Yunxiu noticed his absent-mindedness. Rong Yan couldn't eat, so he put his bowl on the table and said, "Aunt, let me see her."

"I need to see her to know if she's alright, and only then can I feel at ease."

Yunxiu felt troubled, sitting at the table at a loss. Unable to resist his repeated pleas, and being a soft-hearted person, she gritted her teeth and said, "Child, let me tell you the truth, that girl has been imprisoned in the Heavenly Prison by your grandfather, and her fate is unknown..."

Rong Yan almost burst into tears, and Yun Xiu hurriedly chased after him. In the long corridor outside the door, the guards knelt down with a thud.

"Calm down, Rong Yan." Yun Xiu blurted out his name, knowing the situation was tricky. "Your grandfather used up half his demon power to save you."

"That woman struck you with her sword, intending to kill you. Your grandfather was determined to kill her, especially considering her status as a celestial couple?"

"So what?" He never considered himself a demon, and everything here had nothing to do with him.

Unable to persuade him, Yunxiu had no choice but to tell him everything: "Back then, your father broke with the entire demon race for your mother's sake, and your grandfather had to kill his own flesh and blood for the sake of the people and the unity of the demon race."

"Now you've gone to such lengths for a woman. If your grandfather knew, would she even be alive?"

Rong Yan calmed down and still said, "Father couldn't protect Mother because he was incompetent. I will never be like him."

Yunxiu sighed, "Let's calm down first, at least there's still room for maneuver."

"Where is the Heavenly Prison?" He had to see his senior sister to make sure she was safe.
