Nine-Tailed Fox

Nine-Tailed Fox

The air was thick with the stench of blood; the unborn child had turned into a pool of blood.

Qi Qian'er was locked in her room, the door was locked, and she could not get help from heaven or earth.

At that moment, it felt like falling into an abyss. Qi Qian'er lay on the ground, vowing that if she could survive, she would make Du Shaoyou suffer a terrible death.

After an unknown amount of time, there was still no sign of anyone.

A chill ran through his body, his body temperature gradually dropped, and in his dazed gaze, someone opened the door.

She was half-held in someone's arms, her hands and feet frantically checking her injuries.

"Madam, Madam," Wu Jinfeng called out to her, pried open her mouth, and forcefully stuffed a pill into her mouth.

She refused, straining to exhale, and even tried her best to push Wu Jinfeng away.

"What are you doing here?" She propped herself up, her face covered in cold sweat, and her body stained with blood.

"This is life-saving medicine, Madam, please eat it quickly," Wu Jinfeng urged, moving closer with a hurried expression, clearly having sneaked in secretly.

Unable to resist, Wu Jinfeng was strong and even though she was pregnant, she acted calmly and walked without panting.

He was forced to swallow a pill, which got stuck in his throat, and he couldn't stop gagging.

Wu Jinfeng found the teapot on the coffee table, poured a bowl of cold tea, and fed it to her.

After being diluted with water and drunk, the medicine quickly took effect, warming up his hands and feet and gradually giving him strength, although his body was still weak.

Qi Qian'er slumped to the ground, feeling no gratitude whatsoever. If it weren't for Wu Jinfeng, she wouldn't have been schemed against like this.

She didn't even bother to look at him again, and slowly placed her hand on Wu Jinfeng's stomach.

Her lower abdomen is slightly protruding, and she will be born in a few months.

Seeing the fierce glint in her eyes, Wu Jinfeng instinctively shrank back.

She knew she was guilty, but the child was innocent.

"They're all bastards." Qi Qian'er withdrew her hand, which fell weakly to her lap.

The two women knelt on the ground, looking at each other with a sense of mutual appreciation.

"I'm sorry..." Wu Jinfeng said apologetically. She didn't ask for the lady's forgiveness, but at least she wanted to do something to ease her conscience.

"I'm already a dead man, what's the point of saying all this now?" She sneered, her voice sharp as a venomous snake. "You schemed against me and ruined me like this, I'll haunt you even as a ghost."

Wu Jinfeng's body went limp; no matter what she did, she couldn't salvage her wounded heart. She still said, "I know I've wronged you, Madam, but I never intended to harm you."

“Even after having this child, I wanted to leave this place and never appear in front of him again.”

But things didn't go as planned; secrets always have a way of keeping things quiet.

"Even if you didn't want to hurt me, I'm like this because of you." Qi Qian'er forced a cold, pale, and venomous smile. "If he hadn't protected you, I wouldn't have miscarried, and even..."

When the topic turned to her sore spot, Qi Qian'er chuckled. From childhood to adulthood, she had been beautiful and charming, and her father had always doted on her. In the past, when she liked pearls and gemstones, her father would order people to collect them from various places and bring them to her, just to make her happy.

As long as it's not excessive, you can get whatever you want.

Even on the day of the old manor lord's funeral, the man she saw could be taken into her household by her father, who would then marry her off to him.

Looking back now, it all seems ridiculous.

"I have nothing more to say to you. I'll just ask you, is my father's death related to you?"

Wu Jinfeng swore, "I asked him, and he had the idea, but he didn't do it. The master's death was just an accident."

Having received a satisfactory answer, Qi Qian'er's murderous intent faded somewhat, but she was still unsettled by the ruthlessness in her heart.

Even so, he still lied to me.

Wu Jinfeng was pale and weak when the person in front of her suddenly stood up and slammed into the wooden table.

She stood up to stop them, and the utensils on the table scattered all over the floor, shattering into pieces.

Qi Qian'er was determined to die, spewing venomous curses. Wu Jinfeng felt even more guilty, "How can you forgive me, Madam?"

Qi Qian'er's face was filled with sorrow. "I want him dead. Would you be willing to let him die?"

Before Du Shaoyou was married, they had already pledged their lives to each other and bowed to heaven and earth. If it weren't for him, she wouldn't be alive today.

Seeing Wu Jinfeng's hesitation, Qi Qian'er scoffed, "I knew you wouldn't agree."

“But he is your husband,” Wu Jinfeng blurted out.

Even though a day as husband and wife is worth a hundred days of kindness, Du Shaoyou still fell in love with her.

However, this sincerity was given to two women at the same time, and trying to please both of them only led to a messy love affair.

"Does he even have me in his heart?" Qi Qian'er retorted. "My man only has me in his heart. Since he can have room for someone else, I have nothing to hold onto."

"If you feel sorry for me, then don't stop me."

The Department of Ill-fated Women is in charge of handling the grievances of women in the world. In exchange for their souls after death, when the petitions are burned, the people of the Department of Ill-fated Women will step forward to seek justice for the petitioners.

Wu Jinfeng understood the thoughts in her eyes, and felt as if she had fallen into an ice cave. She could not stop it, nor did she want to.

He let Qi Qian'er get up and rummage through the cabinet to find the padded jacket wrapped around the baby.

She lost too much blood; if it weren't for that pill, Qi Qian'er wouldn't have survived until now.

The sound of tearing silk filled the air as the coat was ripped into a single piece and laid flat on the ground. Dipping it in the blood, Qi Qian'er wrote down her resentful thoughts—

"Respectfully informing the gods."

On the ninth day of the eighth month of the fourth year of the reign of Emperor Kuining, her husband, Du Shaoyou, plotted to kill his wife, seize the family's grain and property, and replace her with a maid named Wu.

Fortunately rescued, and in order to save my life, I, Qi Qian'er, beg the judge to be wise and impartial in judging my case and to seek justice!

After finishing the petition, with blood still on her fingers, Qi Qian'er laid the petition flat and performed the ritual of three kneelings and nine kowtows.

Light the flint, and the flames climbed up the petition paper, burning it completely.

The door was kicked open with a bang, and Du Shaoyou rushed into the room, frantically stomping on the burning petition paper on the ground.

Qi Qian'er stomped out the flames completely and watched coldly as the petition was half burned, destined to be used as waste paper.

Du Shaoyou glanced at Wu Jinfeng, who was sitting blankly to the side, and knew that she had been bewitched. He was furious and was about to beat Qi Qian'er.

Just as they were about to make their move, a woman's charming voice rang out.

"It took me a while to find it, but it was here all along."

Evil spirits echoed throughout the room. Qi Qian'er, thinking it was because of the presented indictment, laughed maniacally, "Your death is near!!"

"Shut up—" Du Shaoyou gritted his teeth, kicked Qi Qian'er away, and went to pull Wu Jinfeng, who was on the ground, "Jinfeng, how are you?"

"Everyone's here." The succubus sneered, her ethereal voice vanishing without a trace.

The mansion and the villa are connected, with a side gate in between through which they can pass.

Sensing the invasion of the demons, Song Kang, the master of Wanjian Manor, immediately issued an order, carrying his sword, to search for the demons' hiding place.

The demon appeared and disappeared without a trace, drifting past us without warning.

Qi Qian'er laughed wildly, appearing like a madwoman, "They all have to die, they all have to die!"

Du Shaoyou was panicked and at a loss. In the face of danger, he remembered the protective talisman that Jin Feng had given him. He found it, stuck it to his body, picked up the mentally impaired Wu Jin Feng, and left the room.

Inside the room, Qi Qian'er cursed at the top of her lungs.

The protective talisman was indeed effective; the suffocating feeling of being entangled by the evil spirit dissipated. However, ever since the female demon appeared, Jin Feng seemed to have gone mad and did not react at all.

There was an underground palace in the mansion where they could hide, which was equipped with a magic array. Du Shaoyou carried the person inside and hid there.

The female demon hovered in the air, unable to find any trace of her, and then turned and headed in the direction where Song Kang was.

The entire manor was on high alert. Song Kang got separated from his people and bumped into a female demon in the long corridor.

"Lord of the Manor, I've heard you're quite the ladies' man," the banshee teased, remaining in a wisp of mist rather than revealing her physical form.

Song Kang held his sword and slashed at the air, but after a while it was all in vain, as the surging demonic energy surrounded him.

The demoness laughed and drifted away. Song Kang's hand went limp, and with a clang, the sword fell to the ground. He was stunned.

"That's how it is. I'm sorry that this happened and made my junior sister worry." It was Song Qingyun's voice on the other end of the telepathic message.

Rong Yan's cultivation is gradually improving, and his vision and hearing are gradually increasing.

He sat on the wolf's head, his hands gripping the fur on Benben's head, while Lin Yueyao sat on the wolf's tail. From this distance, Rong Yan could hear the contents of the paper crane.

Lin Yueyao didn't hide it; they were all from the same sect, so there was nothing to hide.

Holding the radiant paper crane, she said, "We'll be there tomorrow."

"Really?" Song Qingyun's excited voice came through. "It's so good that you can come." He had been extremely busy these past few days, and his father had also fallen ill, so all the affairs of the manor had suddenly fallen on his shoulders.

“Rong Yan is here too,” she added.

"Junior brother, it's only right that you bring him along."

"Awooo—" As dawn broke, Benben howled like a banshee. His owner was holding him too tightly, and his scalp was being pulled painfully.

Song Qingyun was originally in the extremely cold northern region. Lin Yueyao was thinking of choosing a suitable magic weapon for Rong Yan, so she sent a telepathic message to her senior brother Song Qingyun. However, she found that her senior brother had already returned to Wanjian Manor and his words were evasive, indicating that something bad must have happened.

In particular, his voice sounded exhausted, indicating that he hadn't slept a wink.

Although the message was sent, the person was already on their way.

Benben carried the two of them all night and stopped in front of the manor gate. Benben transformed into human form, but was still stopped and not allowed to enter.

There is a demon in the manor. Whenever the servants see the demon, they are on high alert.

Fortunately, Song Qingyun had someone waiting at the gate early in the morning, and with Lin Yueyao's help, Benben was able to enter the manor smoothly.

The estate owner, Song Kang, is ill and cannot receive guests. His cousin, Qi Qian'er, has also fallen ill after a miscarriage. As for Du Shaoyou, he is staying at home and is also ill.

The servants and maids gave a unified story, which aroused Lin Yueyao's suspicions. She remained silent and simply explained her purpose.

When Song Qingyun saw her, he smiled, a rare occurrence. There were dark shadows under his eyes, indicating that he hadn't slept well.

She then inquired about Rong Yan's well-being and said many words to him.

Rong Yan nodded and smiled obediently, calling him "Senior Brother" repeatedly, which made Song Qingyun blush.

The rooms have been prepared, two rooms, one for Lin Yueyao to stay in alone, and the other for Rong Yan and Benben.

Benben is a demon, and to avoid causing trouble, he mostly stays in his room.

Song Qingyun was busy with matters at the manor. Apart from his father, his cousin had miscarried. He had intended to visit her, but Du Shao persuaded him that his cousin was not presentable and needed to rest quietly.

None of these are the most important things. The most troublesome thing is the demon hiding in the manor.

With profound cultivation, judging from the remaining demonic power, it was a nine-tailed fox demon.
