Chapter 200 I Want to Spend My Life with You

After a while, Zhu Ziqing's smile gradually faded and his brows slightly frowned.

"Zhengchu, is your body... really okay?" she asked in a low voice, with worry in her tone.

Tan Zhengchu held her hand and squeezed it gently: "Don't worry, I will be fine."

"But..." Su Yingxue bit her lip, "I don't want anything to happen to you. I want you to stay with me forever."

Tan Zhengchu's eyes were firm, and his voice was low but powerful: "No matter what, I will live. For you."

At this moment, Su Yingxue suddenly wrinkled her nose: "Huh? What's that smell?"

She sat up suddenly and sniffed carefully: "It seems to be the smell of smoke... kitchen!"

Tan Zhengchu was stunned for a moment, then his face changed: "Oh no, I forgot to turn off the fire!"

He quickly jumped out of bed, grabbed his pants and put them on hastily, then rushed to the kitchen shirtless.

Su Yingxue also quickly picked up her nightgown and put it on, then followed him.

In the kitchen, the fire had been put out, but the black smoke was so thick that it was impossible to open one's eyes.

Tan Zhengchu rushed to the stove, quickly turned on the range hood, and ran to open the window.

"Cough cough..." Su Yingxue covered her mouth and choked on her tears.

Tan Zhengchu looked back at her, his eyes full of heartache: "Go out first, it's too smokey here."

Su Yingxue shook her head and insisted on standing beside him: "I'm fine, be careful."

Tan Zhengchu sighed and reached out to ruffle her hair: "Be good, wait for me outside. Dinner will be ready soon."

Su Yingxue nodded, and before leaving the kitchen, she reminded him, "Don't get too tired."

Tan Zhengchu smiled and said, "Don't worry, there are only two dishes tonight, stir-fried pork with green peppers and scrambled eggs. It will be ready soon."

Su Yingxue's eyes lit up and she smiled expectantly: "Then I'll wait for you."

Not long after, Tan Zhengchu came out with two plates of food.

He placed the dishes on the carpet, served two bowls of rice, and called Su Yingxue, "Come, sit here."

Su Yingxue sat down cross-legged, picked up a piece of stir-fried pork with green peppers with chopsticks, and put it into her mouth to taste it carefully.

"Hmm!" Her eyes lit up. "Delicious! It tastes a bit like... my mom's cooking."

Tan Zhengchu looked at her, his eyes full of tenderness: "As long as you like it."

He paused, then added, "Actually, I went there on purpose to learn it. I saw you mentioned your mother's cooking last time, so I wanted to try it."

Su Yingxue was stunned, her eyes slightly red: "You...how did you know?"

Tan Zhengchu smiled and said, "You mentioned it in your sleep last time."

Su Yingxue lowered her head, but the corners of her mouth could not help but rise: "Thank you, Zhengchu."

She ate with gusto, her face full of satisfaction.

Tan Zhengchu looked at her with eyes full of doting.

He also picked up a portion of stir-fried pork and green pepper with chopsticks, and frowned as soon as he took a bite because of the spiciness.

"So spicy..." he muttered softly, but seeing that Su Yingxue was enjoying the meal, he held back and said nothing more.

At the end of dinner, Su Yingxue touched her stomach contentedly: "I'm so full!"

Tan Zhengchu smiled as he cleared the dishes: "If you like, I'll make it often in the future."

Su Yingxue nodded, her eyes full of happiness: "Yeah!"

Although he was sweating profusely from the spicy heat, he felt extremely satisfied when he saw her happy expression.

They smiled at each other, and the night air was filled with warmth and sweetness.

After dinner, Su Yingxue stood up and took the initiative to clean up the dishes.

"Let me wash the dishes today." She said to Tan Zhengchu with a smile, with a hint of anticipation in her eyes.

Tan Zhengchu raised his eyebrows and put down the red wine in his hand: "Are you sure? Or let me do it."

Su Yingxue shook her head and said firmly: "No, you've worked hard enough cooking, leave small things like washing the dishes to me."

She walked into the kitchen carrying the dishes, while Tan Zhengchu leaned against the door, holding a glass of red wine in his hand, looking at her tenderly.

Su Yingxue turned on the faucet, and the water splashed onto the dishes.

She picked up a plate and applied detergent on it, her movements seeming a little clumsy.

"Oops!" The plate almost slipped from her hands. She quickly grabbed it, her heart beating faster.

Tan Zhengchu couldn't help but chuckle when he saw this.

"What are you laughing at?" Su Yingxue turned around and glared at him, her cheeks slightly red.

"Nothing, I just think the way you wash dishes is... cute." He took a sip of red wine, his eyes full of smiles.

Su Yingxue curled her lips and continued to wash the dishes.

However, her movements were still clumsy and the oil stains on the plate were not completely washed off.

"Why is this bowl so hard to wash..." she muttered softly, her brows furrowed tightly.

Tan Zhengchu saw this and felt both amused and distressed.

He put down his glass and walked over to her: "Do you want me to help you?"

"No need!" Su Yingxue shook her head stubbornly, "I can do it."

Finally, the dishes were done.

Su Yingxue let out a long sigh, turned around and looked at Tan Zhengchu, with a hint of self-mockery on her face: "It seems that I am really not suitable for doing housework."

Tan Zhengchu reached out and rubbed her hair, saying gently, "It doesn't matter. I married a wife, not a housekeeper."

Su Yingxue was stunned for a moment, then smiled: "You will spoil me if you say that."

"Spoil me if you want." Tan Zhengchu looked down at her, his eyes full of doting, "I am willing."

They smiled at each other, the atmosphere was warm and sweet.

"Let's go for a walk in the yard," suggested Tan Zhengchu.

"Okay." Su Yingxue nodded and took his arm.

In the yard, flowers are blooming and the air is filled with a faint floral fragrance.

The sky gradually darkened, and the moon quietly climbed up the sky, casting a soft silver light.

Su Yingxue took a deep breath and felt particularly relaxed.

"Zhengchu, when was this manor built?" she suddenly asked with curiosity in her eyes.

Tan Zhengchu was silent for a moment, then replied in a low voice: "Two years ago."

"Two years ago?" Su Yingxue was a little surprised. "We weren't together at that time, right?"

"Yeah." Tan Zhengchu nodded, his eyes deep, "At that time I thought that I must marry you here in the future."

Su Yingxue was stunned, her eyes slightly red.

"You...you had planned this a long time ago?" Her voice was a little choked.

Tan Zhengchu gently held her hand: "Yes, from the moment I met you, I knew that you were the person I wanted to spend my life with."

Su Yingxue couldn't hold back her tears anymore. She hugged Tan Zhengchu tightly and buried her face in his chest.

"Thank you, Zhengchu." Her voice was muffled, but full of emotion.

The yard was very quiet, with only the sound of wind and waves echoing softly.

The moonlight sprinkled on the two of them, as if covering them with a layer of silver gauze.

Su Yingxue raised her head, looked at the moon in the sky, and sighed softly: "Today's moon is so beautiful, it seems to bless us."

Tan Zhengchu followed her gaze and smiled: "Yes, even the moon is happy for us."

Su Yingxue leaned on his shoulder, her eyes full of happiness: "Zhengchu, I feel so happy."

"Me too." Tan Zhengchu lowered his head and kissed her forehead. "As long as you are here, I feel that everything is worth it."
