Chapter 235: Deep Love between Father and Daughter

So, Tan Zhengchu and his daughter Qibao started a cake-sharing model of "you take a bite, I take a bite".

Every time Qibao scooped a spoonful, he would taste it himself first and then feed it to Tan Zhengchu.

Although her movements were a little clumsy, Tan Zhengchu felt extremely warm.

The cake was quickly eaten, and Qibao patted his belly contentedly: "Daddy, I will feed you cake in the future, okay?"

Tan Zhengchu smiled and nodded: "Okay, Daddy will wait."

Qibao slid down from Tan Zhengchu's thighs and ran off to play with Erbao and Sanbao.

Tan Zhengchu looked at her back, a hint of sadness unconsciously revealed in his eyes.

"I don't know how long I can stay with the children..." He thought silently in his heart.

"I really want to watch them grow up, watch Qibao grow into a big girl, and feed me cake like she does now."

His thoughts gradually drifted away, and the image of Qibao when he grew up appeared in his mind.

"Qibao is so beautiful, she will definitely have many suitors in the future, right?"

"No, you have to get my consent before you can have a boyfriend, otherwise I won't feel at ease."

Thinking of this, Tan Zhengchu couldn't help but smile bitterly.

"When a person is about to die, he really likes to think about random things."

He shook his head, trying to get those messy thoughts out of his mind.

However, the reluctance and worry in my heart always linger.

He knew that he didn't have much time left.

But how he wished that he could spend more time with these lovely children, watching them grow up and become independent little by little.

"Qibao, Daddy will do his best to protect you and prevent you from getting hurt."

He swore silently in his heart, his eyes once again falling on Qibao's cheerful figure, his eyes full of tenderness and determination.

Secretary Xiao Wang held the steering wheel, frowned slightly, and looked at the two kids in the back seat through the rearview mirror: "Liu Bao, Da Bao, are you sure you are going to your classmate's house?"

Liu Bao blinked his eyes and showed an innocent smile: "Yes, Uncle Wang, we are just going to play at a classmate's house for a while and will be back soon."

Dabao lowered his head and fiddled with the toys in his hands, seemingly not caring about the secretary's questions.

The secretary sighed, feeling that something was wrong, but since the two children looked calm, he did not dare to ask any more questions.

The car stopped at the hospital entrance, and Liu Bao suddenly said, "Uncle Wang, please wait for us in the car, we will be back soon."

"Hospital? Aren't you going to a classmate's house?" The secretary was stunned and even more confused.

"My classmate's home is near the hospital!" Liubao pushed open the car door with a smile, took Dabao's hand and jumped out of the car, then ran into the hospital without looking back.

The secretary shook his head helplessly and could only sit in the car and wait.

He looked at his watch and muttered to himself, "What the hell are these two little guys doing?"

In the hospital corridor, the smell of disinfectant filled the air.

Liubao and Dabao walked through the crowd with ease and headed straight for Lin Quan's office.

"Uncle Lin!" Liubao shouted from afar.

Lin Quan was standing in the corridor with a medical record in his hand. When he heard the voice, he looked up and saw the two little guys running towards him. A smile appeared on his tired face.

"Liubao, Dabao, why are you here?" Lin Quan squatted down and touched Liubao's head.

"Uncle Lin, we need your help with something." Liu Bao lowered his voice and spoke mysteriously.

Lin Quan raised his eyebrows: "What's the matter?"

Dabao pulled Lin Quan's sleeve and whispered, "It's very important. It's about Daddy."

Lin Quan's expression suddenly became serious: "What happened to your dad?"

Liu Bao looked around and confirmed that there was no one around. He took out a small bottle from his pocket and handed it to Lin Quan: "Uncle Lin, this is the medicine we found. It may be able to cure the virus in Daddy's body."

Lin Quan took the bottle, examined it carefully, and frowned: "Where did this medicine come from?"

"The source is not important!" Dabao suddenly spoke up, his tone firm, "What's important is that it can save Daddy."

Liu Bao nodded and added, "Daddy is in danger now. We don't want to wait any longer."

Lin Quan looked at the two little guys with mixed feelings. He knew Tan Zhengchu's physical condition and understood how deeply the two children loved their father.

"Okay, I'll check the medicine first." Lin Quan stood up and patted Liu Bao on the shoulder. "Wait for me in the office, don't run around."

Lin Quan took the medicine bottle and walked quickly towards the hospital's annex building. He was full of doubts: Where did this medicine come from? How did two children get such a thing?

But he didn't have time to think about it. Tan Zhengchu's situation was not optimistic and any possibility could not be missed.

Pushing open the door of the annex building, Lin Quan walked straight to Wei Hao's ward.

In the ward, Wei Hao was lying on the bed, looking pale and thin, almost unrecognizable. His eyes were dark and full of hatred.

"What are you doing here again?" Wei Hao looked at Lin Quan coldly with a hoarse voice.

Lin Quan walked to the bedside and looked at him expressionlessly: "Can you still bear it?"

Wei Hao sneered: "Are you caring about me or are you laughing at me?"

"I just want to know if you can hold on until the antidote is successfully developed." Lin Quan's tone was still cold.

Wei Hao turned his head away, refusing to look Lin Quan in the eye: "I hate you, Lin Quan. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be like this."

Lin Quan did not respond, but took out the bottle of medicine from his pocket and said coldly: "This is a new medicine. It may make you more painful, but it may also save you."

A trace of fear flashed across Wei Hao's eyes, but he quickly concealed it: "I'm not afraid of death, you can try."

Lin Quan didn't say anything more, he picked up the syringe and drew the medicine. He held Wei Hao's wrist and injected the medicine into him quickly and neatly.

Wei Hao clenched his teeth and cold sweat broke out on his forehead, but he never uttered a groan.

He was lying on the bed, his face as pale as paper, with a needle stuck in the back of his hand.

Wei Hao's eyes were still sharp, like a knife, stabbing straight at Lin Quan.

"What are you doing here again?" Wei Hao sneered, and suddenly reached out to pull out the needle. Blood flowed down the back of his hand, but he seemed to feel no pain. "Are you eager for me to die?"

Lin Quan stood by the bed, looking at him expressionlessly, his voice as cold as ice: "Whether you live or die has nothing to do with me."

"It has nothing to do with me?" Wei Hao's laughter was hoarse and harsh. "Lin Quan, stop pretending to be noble! You hate me, right? You hate me for betraying Su Yingxue and harming Tan Zhengchu. But you know what? I would rather die than become someone like you!"

Lin Quan frowned slightly, and a complex emotion flashed in his eyes: "What kind of person am I?"
