Chapter 250: Dinner with Grandpa

Tan Xiangchen didn't say anything else and continued to read with his head down, as if Li Yumei's words had not entered his ears at all.

Li Yumei seemed to have long been accustomed to this kind of scene. She turned aside, poured a cup of hot tea for Tan Xiangchen, and brought a plate of fresh fruit and placed it on his desk.

On the other side, Liubao and Dabao slept particularly soundly. When they woke up, it was already afternoon.

The two rubbed their sleepy eyes, washed up simply, and went downstairs together.

As soon as they walked into the living room, they saw a man in a gray sweater and a mask standing with his back to them.

Dabao approached Liubao and asked in a low voice: "Liubao, do you think he could be our grandfather?"

Liu Bao observed it carefully, nodded, and said, "It's possible. Let's go down and take a look first."

Viewed from behind, Tan Xiangchen's tall yet aloof figure gives people a feeling of being cold and difficult to get along with.

Just then, Li Yumei walked out of the restaurant and saw Liubao and Dabao coming downstairs.

Liubao was wearing all black, looking calm and mysterious, while Dabao was wearing warm-colored clothes, exuding a lively aura, forming a sharp contrast between the two.

Li Yumei showed a bright smile on her face, waved to the children, and said enthusiastically: "Liubao, Dabao, come quickly and have dinner with grandpa."

The moment Liubao and Dabao saw Li Yumei, they were stunned for a moment.

They stared at each other with wide eyes, and the same thought came to their minds: Why does she look so much like grandma?

At this moment, Tan Xiangchen was immersed in the world of the book, and suddenly heard the voice of a child, which seemed particularly abrupt in this quiet house. He frowned slightly, a trace of curiosity surged in his heart, and slowly turned his head.

At the stairs, he saw two small figures, Dabao and Liubao, standing there cautiously.

Tan Xiangchen's eyes lit up slightly for a moment, and in a trance, he seemed to see the young Tan Zhengchu.

The familiar eyebrows and eyes, the lively appearance, made his heart tremble suddenly, and he blurted out: "Zhengchu?"

Seeing this, Li Yumei hurriedly walked to Tan Xiangchen and explained softly: "Brother Xiangchen, they are not Zhengchu, but Zhengchu's sons, Dabao and Liubao. I brought them here specially to accompany you."

Tan Xiangchen frowned, his eyes full of suspicion, and said coldly: "Yumei, are you so kind? What is your purpose?"

When Dabao heard what Tan Xiangchen said, he took a step forward and said loudly, "Grandpa, we are really Tan Zhengchu's sons. It was Sister Li Yumei who brought us here."

Liu Bao looked at Tan Xiangchen warily, thinking secretly: Although he is wearing a mask, he has such a tall and straight figure, he must be very handsome.

Tan Xiangchen looked at the two little guys in front of him, tears welled up in his eyes, and a smile appeared unconsciously at the corners of his mouth. He sighed: "I didn't expect that my grandchildren are so big."

Dabao was sharp-eyed and noticed Tan Xiangchen's smile immediately. He excitedly said to Li Yumei, "Sister, look, Grandpa is smiling!"

Li Yumei's eyes were red with excitement. She had been with Tan Xiangchen for so many years, but had never seen him smile at her like this.

Tan Xiangchen put away his smile, his eyes turned cold again. He looked at Li Yumei and asked, "Yumei, did you force the children to come? I don't know you yet, but I know the dark side of you very well."

Liubao and Dabao felt the concern in Tan Xiangchen's words. They looked at each other and secretly made up their minds to get close to Tan Xiangchen, seek his help, and leave here. But they were worried that Li Yumei would misunderstand and stop them from contacting Tan Xiangchen.

Li Yumei still kept smiling and said, "Brother Xiang Chen, I would be worried if you didn't take the medicine. I asked my grandchildren to accompany you because I hope you can take the medicine well and get better soon." She paused and said meaningfully, "If you don't take the medicine, these two children might suffer with you."

Tan Xiangchen looked at the two innocent children, feeling sorry for them. He sighed and said, "Okay, I'll take the medicine, but you have to let them go back when I recover. I'm afraid Zhengchu will be worried, and I don't have any contact information to notify him." Thinking of how he had been like a zombie for all these years, only being able to pass the time by painting and missing his family far away, he felt bitter.

Li Yumei nodded quickly and promised: "Brother Xiangchen, as long as you take your medicine on time and recover, I will definitely let the children go back." In fact, she was thinking in her heart that she must not let outsiders disturb her and Tan Xiangchen's world of two.

Li Yumei turned around and told the servant, "Go get some water and medicine."

After a while, the servant brought water and medicine.

Li Yumei took it personally, walked slowly to Tan Xiangchen, handed the medicine to his mouth, and said softly: "Brother Xiangchen, it's time to take the medicine."

Tan Xiangchen looked at the pills in front of him, then looked at Liubao and Dabao beside him, his eyes full of helplessness.

For the sake of the two little guys, he gritted his teeth, took the medicine, tilted his head back, and swallowed it.

Then he said, "I'm hungry, let's eat."

When Li Yumei heard Tan Xiangchen say he was hungry, this was the first time she heard him take the initiative to ask for a meal.

A smile appeared unconsciously on her lips, and she thought, Brother Xiang Chen has really changed a lot since these two children came.

She secretly guessed that perhaps because he saw his grandson, Tan Xiangchen was in a better mood and became more talkative.

She couldn't help but feel a little regretful. If she had known this would happen, she should have brought these two little guys here earlier.

In fact, Tan Xiangchen was just worried about Dabao and Liubao being hungry.

Looking at the two little guys who were full of energy, he seemed to see Tan Zhengchu as a child, and his eyes unconsciously revealed a look of kindness.

He hasn't seen his family for more than 20 years and is almost out of touch with the outside world. Deep in his heart, he misses Tan Zhengchu and others like a surging tide.

Liubao and Dabao could clearly feel that Tan Xiangchen's eyes were full of warmth when he looked at them, but they didn't understand why.

Whenever their eyes met Tan Xiangchen's, a sense of concern would inexplicably arise in their hearts.

Several people walked into the restaurant together, and the table was filled with original food.

Li Yumei picked up the chopsticks, picked up a piece of chicken and put it in Tan Xiangchen's bowl, and said with a smile: "Brother Xiangchen, try this stewed chicken, it tastes delicious."

Tan Xiangchen didn't say anything, just nodded.

He picked up the food from his bowl and put it in Liubao and Dabao's bowls, saying softly, "You must be hungry. Eat more."
