Chapter 46

Chapter 46

Su Yazhi refused to go, but Old Master Shen came instead. However, he still harbored resentment towards Su Yazhi, after all, Shen Qianli's death was still fresh in his mind.

Shen Qianmei's affairs these past two days have been bothering him. Just as he sat down, Luo Tianze came up and started causing trouble, making quite a scene and attracting everyone in the company to come over.

Knowing that Su Yazhi liked watching excitement, Shen Yiheng specially reserved an excellent viewing spot for her.

Luo Tianze is a straightforward person. She curses whatever comes to mind: "You shameless mistress, you seduced my husband, I'll beat you to death."

He's quick to fight, a true man of character.

Shen Qianmei was no different; she simply refused to acknowledge it, no matter what she said.

Even when she was beaten badly, she didn't utter a sound. Her delicate yet strong appearance contrasted sharply with Luo Tianze's unreasonable behavior, which made even more people feel sorry for her.

"Alright, alright." In the end, it was only after Old Master Shen intervened and had his bodyguards take over that the farce was stopped.

After coming out, Old Master Shen felt he had completely lost face, and when he returned to Shen Qianmei's office, he was trembling with anger.

Su Yazhi scanned the entire room, finally fixing her gaze on a corner by the wall where Cheng Yan was hiding and secretly peeking.

Many people cast mocking glances at him, full of sarcasm.

Grandpa Shen left around 4 p.m., and Su Yazhi happened to run into Shen Qianmei coming out of the house when she went out.

The events of the morning didn't seem to have much of an impact on her; she tidied herself up and still presented herself in a glamorous and attractive manner.

Downstairs at the company, Cheng Yan stood at the entrance waiting.

Since their last unpleasant encounter, Su Yazhi and he haven't faced each other directly; if they do, they only glance at each other from afar.

There happened to be a project meeting that evening, so the two of them got into the company car and went there together, remaining silent the whole way.

A sense of melancholy and depression weighed on his slightly thin shoulders, and the somber atmosphere solidified the air inside the car.

The car sped along the highway, raindrops splashing against the car walls, making the street scene slightly hazy when viewed from inside the car.

With each passing second, the tension inside the car grew more intense, Cheng Yan's fingertips turned red, and anxiety made him restless.

"Let's get married." These unexpected words disrupted Su Yazhi's thoughts.

At first, she thought she had misheard, until Cheng Yan's serious and earnest face loomed large before her eyes.

"Name your dowry." He spoke arrogantly, his demeanor a stark contrast to his usual humble and reserved nature.

Su Yazhi did not respond, listlessly playing with the small ring on her hand.

Cheng Yan saw that Shen Qianmei's chances of defeating Luo Tianze were slim, and he knew he had to devise a countermeasure as soon as possible to ensure his own invincibility.

Unfortunately, Cheng Yan made a mistake in his thinking, and setting his sights on her was an even bigger mistake.

"Do you have sincerity?" Su Yazhi asked casually, leaving Cheng Yan speechless.

Silence fell again inside the car, as the drizzle dappled the road ahead.

A hint of mockery flashed in Cheng Yan's cold eyes as he gave a shallow, playful laugh: "Do rich people need sincerity?"

Su Yazhi didn't continue the conversation and closed her eyes to rest for a while.

Sincerity is just the foundation, but some people are even stingy with giving sincerity.

Shen Yiheng didn't come to the dinner party that evening. Su Yazhi found it boring and just casually finished the meal.

In particular, Cheng Yan kept glancing at her, which made her feel extremely uncomfortable.

"Let me take you home," Cheng Yan persisted.

Su Yazhi coldly refused and walked out of the private room, just in time to run into Li Si who was walking this way.

"My assistant is here."

Li Si was always efficient and decisive; after giving his greetings, he took the person away.

Perhaps it was a misperception due to being slightly tipsy, but Su Yazhi seemed to sense Li Si's hostility towards Cheng Yan, and her casual glance was cold.

Regarding the internal strife between Shen Qianmei and Cheng Yan, they both tacitly chose to turn a blind eye, letting them do as they pleased as long as it didn't involve the company's interests.

"By the way, I've noticed that President Shen seems particularly busy these past few days," Li Si said casually. Su Yazhi opened her eyes and listened curiously.

"How so?"

Li Si recounted: "He was there when I arrived at the door. He told me to take good care of you, and then he left in a hurry."

This surprised Su Yazhi.

"Also, I ran into Zhou Ying this afternoon. He said that Shen's Group has been quite busy lately and probably won't be back for the next few days."

Just then, the phone screen lit up with a message from Shen Yiheng: "Are you home yet?"

Su Yazhi looked up and saw that they had arrived at the villa entrance just around the corner.

Not too early, not too late, the timing was just right.

She then recalled that Shen Yiheng had seemed a little rushed when he left that afternoon, and combined with what Li Si had said, she guessed that he had really run into trouble.

I received the news two days later. The Cheng family and the Shen family are now having a rather unpleasant falling out, which has led to some disputes.

As two equally matched families in Haicheng, their discord will undoubtedly affect the entire market.

Stock market volatility and a sudden market downturn, coupled with a series of economic disputes leading to frequent murders within a few days, have thrust the Shen family into the brink of disaster.

“Yiheng, listen to your uncle, this really wasn’t my intention.”

Conversation could be heard inside the office. Su Yazhi heard the noise and prepared to leave, but Shen Yiheng's gaze was clearly following her even faster.

Exhaustion lingered between his brows, and even his breathing became slow after he was mentally and physically exhausted. The hidden drive within him was quickly ignited upon seeing Su Ya, and his dim eyes lit up with a hazy light.

"Isn't this President Su?" Cheng Huai'an was slightly excited and couldn't wait to go up and greet him.

Su Yazhi responded politely and generously: "Hello, Mr. Cheng."

Cheng Huai'an was a bit too overly familiar; he was polite and warm-hearted as soon as they met.

"President Su is indeed worthy of his reputation. No wonder my daughter Yan always mentions you to me."

The words made the atmosphere slightly awkward, especially for Shen Yiheng, whose fatigue added to his jealousy, and whose ever-changing expression was intriguing.

Cheng Huai'an was unaware that Shen Yiheng's face had darkened. He continued tirelessly, "My Ayan is very simple. The people and things she likes are very pure. As her father, I just hope that Ayan can be simply happy. That's enough."

"How about having dinner with your uncle tonight? I'll invite Cheng Yan along, and you two young people can chat more."

"It would be even better if you two could get married."

The conversation turned to marriage in just three sentences, which thoroughly enraged Shen Yiheng. He gritted his teeth and endured it, his cold eyes filled with mist, his fierce brows furrowed to the point of freezing.

He ordered someone to escort Cheng Huai'an out, not allowing anyone to stay even a moment longer.

Only Su Yazhi and Shen Yiheng remained in the room. He was tired and leaned back on the sofa, shaking his head and looking at Su Yazhi with a solemn expression, silently shedding his exhaustion.

As she gazed at him, her eyes grew unfocused, and she gave a dreamy smile, saying, "President Su's charm is boundless, what should I do?" She spoke of her bitterness in a joking tone, then lowered her eyes and remained silent, looking forlorn.

As the setting sun painted the window red, Su Yazhi fully enjoyed this moment of peace and tranquility.

To her surprise, Shen Yiheng was unusually calm this time; perhaps he was truly exhausted.

But if Shen Yiheng really made a fuss or sulked because of the old man's gossip, she would look down on him and turn away.

Su Yazhi firmly believed that what is yours will be yours, and what is not yours will not be yours even if you die.

That evening, she personally drove Shen Yiheng back to his villa and even cooked a meal for him, something she hadn't done in a long time.

The aroma of cooking is sweet and warm, enough to wash away fatigue.

As I was simmering the soup, a powerful breath swept over my ear from behind, a warm and ticklish sensation that made my earlobe tingle. A warm embrace enveloped me from behind, and kisses traveled from my collarbone to my cheek, gently touching my red lips.

"Stop fooling around," Su Yazhi said sweetly, her rare shyness causing her beautiful cheeks to blush.

Shen Yiheng was a scoundrel; he wouldn't leave. The aroma of food wafted through the air, and his hunger and thirst were irrepressible; he couldn't wait to take a bite.

"Don't leave tonight," he pleaded.

The soup was bubbling away, their hearts were pounding, and even the warm lights seemed to glow intensely; the scene was so dreamlike that Su Yazhi felt it was somewhat unreal.

But the lingering, passionate kiss on the nape of the neck was a clear indication of their deep affection.

She put an apron on Shen Yiheng. The small, warm yellow apron looked a bit out of place on his strong waist, making him look like a simple-minded cook.

Looking at Shen Yiheng from behind, she realized how tall he was, almost twice her height. She brushed past him, fastened her belt, glanced around, and then looked at him a few more times.

At first, she was the one who cooked, but after Shen Yiheng arrived, he automatically took over the cooking duties, ready to show off his skills.

Taro and pork ribs, abalone sauce tofu, scallion oil crab, and razor clams are all her favorite dishes.

Shen Yiheng is a very good cook; he can make even the simplest ingredients taste delicious.

I remember in my previous life, when I was locked up in the villa, he was in charge of all my food and drink. When I came out a month later, I had gained several pounds.

Seeing him cook again evoked a mix of emotions, and I couldn't help but recall his various devilish antics.

"Is that all?" Su Yazhi looked around, her expression suddenly turning serious, indicating she wasn't very satisfied. This startled him so much that he almost dropped the wok he was holding.

Shen Yiheng was thinking seriously and earnestly asked for advice.

Su Yazhi grunted and arrogantly raised her chin: "What do I like to eat lately?"

Shen Yiheng gasped, his eyes widened, and his heart pounded.

"I'm leaving," Su Yazhi said, feigning anger.

three.

two.

Before I could even turn around and steady myself, I was pulled back into a familiar embrace.

"You stingy guy," Shen Yiheng muttered discontentedly, lifting the lid of the pot in the corner. Steam rose, and the stir-fried pork was perfectly cooked.

My favorite foods, my recent favorite foods—I have them all, without missing a single one.

The aroma is fresh and delicious, and just looking at it is a pleasure and a great satisfaction.

"Okay then." Su Yazhi chuckled, her bright smile as beautiful as a flower, showing that someone had been putting in a lot of effort lately.

Shen Yiheng raised his eyebrows slightly, feeling extremely pleased with himself.

The saying "The way to a woman's heart is through her stomach" is indeed true.

"You eat too, why are you staring at me?" Su Ya ate one bite after another, thoroughly enjoying herself, but Shen Yiheng across from her kept staring at her menacingly, clearly with ill intentions.

The sweet red wine lingers on the lips and teeth.

Shen Yiheng slowly put down his wine glass, his captivating eyes sparkling with fervor like sunlight illuminating a clear spring, and his voice low and husky: "You eat first."

He has a habit of eating late-night snacks.
