Chapter 49
Shen Qianmei's revenge came swiftly.
She invited Cheng Huai'an to dinner near the company, and when she went downstairs, she brought Cai Siyue along. The three of them sat together in a warm and harmonious scene, just like a family.
Cai Siyue danced around happily at the dinner table, her clear laughter ringing out: "Uncle Cheng, you're so funny."
"That wretched girl." Even Cheng Huai'an, who is usually so upright, started to act silly, which shows how much he dotes on Cai Siyue.
Cheng Yanjing sat quietly by the window, the wind blowing leaves and the sun gradually darkening, creating a sense of desolation.
He didn't even look at me directly; his violent laughter assaulted my ears, and his manic-depressive state caused his hands to clench into fists, his fingertips turning red.
Su Yazhi stood by the side window, took a sip of tea, and quietly observed Cheng Yanwei's unspeakable vicious emotions.
This is a feud between Shen Qianmei and Cheng Yan; she won't get involved.
Survivors often go to two extremes: either give up everything or go mad, doing anything to achieve their goals.
Shen Qianmei controlled the situation with ease and composure, her confidence and ease making her shine.
Such a person is destined not to live a bad life.
A text message arrived on her phone, and Su Yazhi's beautiful willow-leaf eyebrows arched slightly.
It was a text message scheduling a wedding dress fitting, and Cheng Yan went crazy again.
Turning around, Su Yazhi dialed Shen Yiheng's number and said succinctly, "Let's meet tonight."
Bauhinia flowers bloom all over the streets, ginkgo trees complement each other along the way, and golden sunset glows through the gaps in the branches and leaves, warming the earth. Looking up at the blue sky, the autumn breeze brings a touch of coolness and makes long hair flutter.
Not far away, under a ginkgo tree, Shen Yiheng leaned against his car. He wore a black shirt and casual trousers, his figure tall and slender. Ginkgo leaves slowly fell, and the soft sunlight shone on his face. He raised his eyes, his brows slightly aloof, his bright, clear eyes like a spring of sweet water.
Slowly raising her head, her clear eyes sparkled with a newfound light, Xinyue took small steps forward: "Long time no see."
Twelve hours had passed since our last meeting. Every minute and second of waiting was filled with anticipation. I couldn't help but hold hands, gently caressing my palms, lingering there.
"A gift." Su Yazhi handed a small box to Shen Yiheng.
Joy spread across his face as Shen Yiheng accepted the gift, his hand trembling slightly. "Thank you."
His face was full of surprise, his dark eyes brightened, his mouth was slightly open, and he was breathing rapidly.
He was even reluctant to open it, holding it to his chest as if it were a precious treasure.
Opening the passenger door, a bouquet of bright red roses immediately caught her eye. Su Ya hesitated for a few seconds, because not only the passenger seat, but the back seat was completely filled with gift boxes piled up like a small mountain.
Shen Yiheng was a little embarrassed, his shy smile half-hidden: "I like them all, so I bought them all."
There are quite a few, and they come in all sorts of colors.
Su Yazhi’s first instinct was that he might have been out all day.
"Are you tired?" Su Yazhi leaned closer, feeling Shen Yiheng's burning breath flowing between them. He tensed up, his chest heaving more violently.
The small car interior was filled with warmth. Shen Yiheng was suppressing his breathing. When he lowered his head, the fragrance lingered, and a gentle sniff made his brows furrow.
The overwhelming passion made Shen Yiheng fall for it, demanding a lingering, passionate kiss until his bones were completely enveloped in her embrace, and he could truly feel the warmth of their bodies mingling against each other.
"Give me a proper status, okay?"
He was pleading, his misty eyes slightly blurred, yet glistening and moist, as if about to burst forth.
Countless rejections have made her seem even more humble now, her cautious questioning almost breaking her heart.
Su Yazhi stared intently at him, her seemingly calm heart now churning with a thousand waves of emotion, her heart suddenly clenching.
It's heartbreaking, and I'm in pain.
Those slender, well-defined fingers gently caressed her cheek, and Su Yazhi tenderly raised her hand to cover them, stroking the finger bones back and forth.
She asked, "Aren't we still missing a couple's ring?"
Lost in despair, Shen Yiheng suddenly looked up, his eyelashes trembling slightly. He then realized what was happening and took out the box from his pocket, the sparkling wedding rings gleaming with captivating light.
Su Yazhi smiled faintly, her dimples barely visible, her peach-like rosy cheeks blushing shyly: "I also spent the whole day out today."
After searching for a long time, I finally found the pair that best met my expectations.
With slender, fair fingers, Su Yazhi extended her hand to Shen Yiheng, her pink nails sparkling: "Wearing this ring means you're mine."
After pursuing him for so long, she should finally show her appreciation and not let him down after two lifetimes of following her.
Shen Yiheng's eyes were slightly moist. He sniffed uselessly, and slowly put the ring on his finger. All the bitterness in his heart instantly dissipated.
His thin lips pursed gently, then he asked for another kiss, filling the space between his breaths. It was so sweet, so sweet, filling the wellspring of his inexhaustible vitality.
"Don't even think about breaking up." Shen Yiheng uttered a harsh remark, clutching the wedding ring tightly in his hand, acting like a child throwing a tantrum.
Su Yazhi smiled faintly and let him run wild.
The moonlight outside the window is just right; it's a perfect time to go home together.
Having gained official status, Shen Yiheng naturally had a legitimate reason to move in and began to take advantage of the situation with a sense of entitlement.
Kissing and hugging are just appetizers; his indiscriminate behavior day and night exposes his true beastly nature. Especially when his mother is not around, he doesn't even allow the nanny to stay at home.
"Wake up."
Hearing his hoarse voice calling her, Su Yazhi pushed him away wearily: "Stop messing around." She was just too tired and could only curse the ever-energetic Shen Yiheng in her dreams.
Perhaps it was her imagination, but even in her dream, the sensations on her body felt terrifyingly real. Sensitive, she curled up her slender waist, only to be suddenly pulled and violently slammed into her the next second.
Even the bones felt soft and yielding, a gentle tremor spreading throughout the body. It couldn't be pushed away, couldn't be driven away; the sticky sensation remained lingering.
The morning light was too bright, making my eyes hurt. I slowly turned my head and saw that overly arrogant and handsome profile.
When Su Yazhi woke up, she was still dazed. On the contrary, Shen Yiheng, who was leaning lazily against the headboard, was more refreshed than when he fell asleep last night.
"You're awake." He naturally pulled her into his arms, wanting to savor the warmth of the moment.
Su Yazhi squinted, feeling uncomfortably sleepy.
I'm not awake yet; it feels like I'm still dreaming.
"Sleep a little longer," the soothing voice said softly, accompanied by gentle pats and touches on his arm.
The past few days of unbridled behavior had made Shen Yiheng feel excessively happy, his eyebrows raised, and he became arrogant and unrestrained.
Around noon, the two appeared together downstairs at the company, their steps synchronized and their demeanor equally impressive, attracting a crowd of onlookers and sparking heated discussions among the employees below.
"I think President Shen and President Su are a better match."
"I'm going to start shipping them as a couple."
Shen Yiheng liked hearing this. His eyes inadvertently swept around, and his confident stride grew as he assumed he had the situation under control.
Back upstairs, he immediately called Zhou Ying over: "This one, this one, promote her." The reason he gave was that she was a very visionary employee and deserved to be promoted.
Zhou Ying silently complied, seeing how smug her boss was, she guessed he must have tasted the sweetness of success.
The news quickly reached Cheng Yan, who remained silent and expressionless during the meeting, his aloof demeanor slowing down the proceedings.
The four major shareholders each sat on one side, and Su Yazhi happened to be sitting directly opposite Cheng Yan. When he lowered his head, his dark emotions were clearly visible, and it was impossible to guess what he was thinking.
After finishing his business, Cheng Yan suddenly raised his head, his gaze fixed on Su Yazhi with a hint of ruthlessness. But he didn't say anything, his gaze sweeping over everyone before finally settling on her. Finally, he slowly said, "I'm getting married."
A moment of silence passed, eerily quiet.
Shen Qianmei tidied up the documents in front of her and casually said, "Me too."
Upon hearing this, Cheng Yan dropped the pen from her hand onto the conference table with a loud, booming sound. When she looked up, her resentful gaze was like a candle that had lost its flame, and her sidelong glance was as cold as ice.
An untimely congratulatory remark came from Shen Yiheng's mouth: "Congratulations."
Su Yazhi remembered that this was the first thing he said to Shen Qianmei. She thought Shen Yiheng was extremely cute at this moment, and he was even trying to suppress his mischievous smile.
"Thank you," Shen Qianmei said with a charming and gentle smile, her intellectual allure radiating a sweet and refreshing quality.
Cheng Yan, however, remained unresponsive, his fingers stiffly bent on the table.
Shen Qianmei had made preparations in advance and presented exquisite wedding candies.
Shen Yiheng raised his chin, a slight smile appearing at the corner of his eye, and emphasized, "We only need one serving."
He stepped forward, tilting the chair to the left, leaning it mostly towards Su Yazhi's position, forcefully asserting his dominance.
Su Yazhi leaned back naturally, her aloof posture creating a sense of distance, but at this moment her bias towards Shen Yiheng was blatant.
Her gentle gaze emerged softly, as clear as the first light of dawn; she tacitly approved of Shen Yiheng's declaration and was quite satisfied with it.
From Cheng Yan's position, the two were almost one in front of the other, their posture intimate and inseparable. Her heart felt like a withered bud, and she couldn't speak for a long time; even her breathing was choked with sobs.
He had never received such a genuine smile.
Before the conversation at the conference table was finished, Cheng Yan stopped Su Yazhi in the corridor.
His eyes were bloodshot, his brows were furrowed with deep weariness, and his voice was low and weak, yet stubborn and stiff: "Are you going to be my enemy?"
He must have been thinking about these words for a long time. When he said them, his lips trembled slightly, and unease spread across his pale face.
The wind was strong on the rooftop, and a chill ran through her as the drizzle fell. Su Yazhi wanted to speak, but her throat felt like it was pierced by thorns, and she couldn't utter a word.
"Cheng Yan," Su Yazhi said. The next second, a familiar figure appeared in front of her, as vast as a mountain, shielding her from all the storms that were about to hit her.
His voice was deep and powerful, forceful and direct. She heard Shen Yiheng say to Cheng Yan, "Yes, I will be your enemy."
Even the distant thunder couldn't outshone the volume of his voice, which resonated deeply and lingered in her ears. His large, warm palms, which were placed in front of her and behind her back, held her hand for a long, long time, offering her the most direct sense of security and protection.
Cheng Yan peeked out from the side, trying to take another look at Su Yazhi, but what blocked his way was still Shen Yiheng's indestructible and robust body, like a powerful mountain that did not allow him any chance to make contact.
He left reluctantly, his steps faltering, but his upright back never lost its stubbornness.
Shen Yiheng felt uneasy and instructed, "Cheng Yan is a madman. Don't see him again."
Su Yazhi nodded, her bright eyes narrowed, displaying a rare obedience and gentleness, just like an innocent and adorable young girl.
With a gentle beckoning of her little hand, the sensible Shen Yiheng immediately opened his arms, and Su Yazhi snuggled closer to him, her warm body enough to withstand the howling wind.
She loves hugs, she loves them very much.
