Chapter 129 Qin Jingru Leaves the Courtyard

Looking at her two daughters, Qin Huairu immediately had an idea. She quickly led them to the front yard. Once there, she brought the two children to Yang Tao's side.

Qin Huairu had originally hoped to use the two children to get closer to Yang Tao. But before the children could even get close to the Wei family's children, Yang Tao ran to her own house with the children in her arms and closed the door. Qin Huairu wasn't given a chance to speak at all.

Seeing Yang Tao's actions, Qin Huairu's anger was palpable. No one wants to be treated differently, and no one wants to be discriminated against.

My cousin can always communicate well with others, but she can't get it right with me.

Qin Huairu will never know that, given her reputation and personality, it's impossible for her to be accepted by others. Relationships are based on mutual respect and consideration, though not all sincerity is reciprocated. But no one in this world likes to be constantly schemed against.

Although Qin Jingru has many flaws, at least she doesn't spend all her time scheming and plotting. This is why Wei Hua introduced Qin Jingru to the steel rolling mill when they needed workers.

Although it was just a low-level apprenticeship, it was enough to excite Qin Jingru. Upon entering the steel rolling mill, Qin Jingru displayed boundless enthusiasm.

As for the other people in the courtyard, Wei Hua didn't have any particular opinion. As long as they didn't bother him, Wei Hua treated them as ordinary neighbors.

Wei Hua generally wouldn't refuse to help if he could, except for those who preferred to retire or the Yan family.

Wei Hua didn't take Qin Huairu's loitering in her courtyard seriously at all. If Qin Huairu tried to take advantage of her again, her fate would only be more miserable.

Since there was nothing else to do, Wei Hua took Yang Tao and the child away from the courtyard house. He was usually too busy to go, so now that he had nothing else to do, he took her to the hospital for a prenatal checkup.

But when Qin Huairu returned home, she couldn't stand Qin Jingru no matter how she looked at her. She had gone through so much trouble to become a city dweller, while the other woman had gotten a job so easily.

Thinking about Qin Jingru's monthly salary of 17.5 yuan, Qin Huairu's ideas gradually became more complex. If she could get that money, her family's situation would improve significantly. Her two daughters wouldn't have to live such a hard life.

"Jingru! There's something I want to discuss with you. You're not helping me take care of the kids anymore, and you know our family's situation. You're living at my place now, so paying one yuan a month for accommodation shouldn't be too much to ask, right?"

Qin Jingru was furious when she heard her cousin ask her for money for lodging. Although she no longer helped her with childcare, she still did almost all the housework.

She works at the steel mill during the day, and there's no rest even when she gets back to the courtyard house. Not only does she not pay her, but she also asks her for rent.

"Cousin, how dare you make such a request? I've taken care of your child for half a year and run errands for your family. You've also been eating my food for the past two weeks. How can you say something like that?"

"Since you don't want me to live in your house, then I'll leave. I won't have to go through all this trouble if I leave your house. You can wash these clothes yourself!"

Qin Jingru, who had long harbored resentment, packed her few clothes and left the Jia family with her bundle on her back. All Qin Jingru possessed consisted of a few clothes and some toiletries. A bundle and a basin were all she needed.

No one understood Qin Huairu better than Qin Jingru. Qin Jingru knew that as long as she continued to live in the courtyard house, her cousin would definitely keep scheming against her. Even if she wanted to remain friends with Yang Tao and the others, Qin Jingru dared not stay in the courtyard house.

To maintain a certain distance from Qin Huairu, Qin Jingru went directly to the steel rolling mill. After explaining the situation to the factory staff, she moved into the mill's residential area.

The conditions here are much worse than in a traditional courtyard house. But the living conditions aren't much worse than in the Jia family's house. After the rooms were assigned, Qin Jingru used the ten yuan she had saved over the past six months to buy some daily necessities.

Although the room was a bit small, Qin Jingru was very comfortable living there. At least she didn't have to worry about the Jia family's affairs anymore, and she didn't have as much housework.

Qin Huairu, however, was nearly driven mad with anger in the courtyard. Just as she was starting to feel better, she was forced to do housework. If she had known this would happen, she shouldn't have made those unreasonable demands. If someone had helped her, her life would have been much easier.

Qin Huairu hadn't expected her cousin to leave the Jia family with just a few pieces of clothing. Qin Huairu had originally planned to haggle with her cousin and try to get something for herself.

Helpless, Qin Huairu had no choice but to shoulder the burden of the Jia family's affairs herself. After washing a basin of clothes, Qin Huairu had to go into the kitchen to cook for her two daughters.

After only a short while in the kitchen, Qin Huairu felt her feet were giving out. She had to rest on a stool for about ten minutes before starting to cook.

After working for a while, Qin Huairu felt sore all over. Although the meal was ready, Qin Huairu's condition was not good. After cooking, she could only let Xiao Dang feed Xiao Huaihua while she lay down on the bed.

If she had only felt a little regretful before, Qin Huairu was now filled with remorse. If she had known this would happen, she shouldn't have made those demands of her cousin. Even if she were to make those demands, she should have waited another month or two. Given her current condition, she simply couldn't do these housework.

The thought that her injuries were inflicted by the Liu family and the other people in the courtyard filled Qin Huairu with a burning hatred, making her want to tear them to pieces.

Even lying in bed, her gaze involuntarily drifted towards the backyard. However, Qin Huairu quickly averted her eyes. She simply didn't dare retaliate; given her grudges with those people in the backyard, it would be good enough if they didn't retaliate against her.

If she had known this would happen, she shouldn't have thought so much about it in the first place. Seeing her youngest daughter crying again, Qin Huairu had no choice but to get out of bed.

The baby's situation left Qin Huairu with no time to think about anything else. After washing Xiao Huaihua's bottom, Qin Huairu lay back down on the bed. Perhaps because she was in so much discomfort, Qin Huairu fell asleep soon after lying down.

At the hospital, Wei Hua and Yang Tao completed all their examinations. During the examinations, Wei Hua specifically used his spatial abilities to check on Yi Zhonghai and the deaf old woman. Knowing their situations improved Wei Hua's mood considerably.

People like them deserve divine retribution. Let's see if they dare to try and take advantage of me again. If they do come, Wei Hua is happy to let them.

This way, she could not only gain a lot of rewards, but also make them get what they deserved. However, Yang Tao's thoughts were different from Wei Hua's. After all, Yang Tao was a woman and did not know the true nature of Yi Zhonghai and the deaf old lady.

"Don't you think they're both too pitiful?"

Upon hearing Yang Tao's words, Wei Hua quickly shook his head.

“Those who do bad things should be punished. If they don’t intend to harm others, how can they be punished? I’ve already done more than enough by not taking the initiative to punish them.”

"Don't have any sympathy in the courtyard. All we can do is have a clear conscience. Not using our special abilities to harm others is already upholding our principles. If they want to die, what does it have to do with us?"

"The reason why so many people in the courtyard are fine, but only these few families are suffering so badly is because their hearts have turned completely black."

Hearing Wei Hua's words, Yang Tao did not refute them. Other people's business is always other people's business, and Yang Tao would not let other people's affairs cause her to lose her temper with her husband.

Moreover, the Wei family had never caused trouble; it was always the other people in the courtyard who came looking for trouble. Since they brought it all on themselves, Yang Tao didn't want to dwell on the matter any longer.

Instead of wasting time worrying about this, she should take better care of her children. Yang Tao knew that her children and husband were her foundation, because they would be with her for the rest of her life.

To quarrel with one's husband over a few passersby in life would be the biggest mistake. After leaving the hospital, Yang Tao followed Wei Hua and the child back to the courtyard house.

Even while pregnant, Yang Tao continued to fulfill her duties as a wife. Seeing Wei Hua playing with the child, Yang Tao went into the kitchen.
