Chapter 190 The Love and Hatred of the Yan Brothers

This is not the time to show your face. Wei Hua seemed completely oblivious to what was happening outside. He and Yang Tao stayed home, obediently continuing to have children.

Others have considered causing trouble, but their backgrounds and identities need to be legitimate. They're currently being targeted, so even if they wanted to join, they couldn't.

They had no other choice but to hide. The most pitiful were Yan Jiefang, who was outside. Although the reformists were no longer targeting him, his days were still unbearably long.

Nobody pities Yan Jiefang. Everyone is too busy taking care of themselves to care about him.

Paralyzed Yan Jiefang could only crawl around on the road like a lizard. Besides begging, he knew nothing else. It was impossible for him to work in such a physical condition. If Yan Jiefang's health hadn't deteriorated, how could the reformists have made things difficult for him? Yan Jiefang spent his days begging everywhere.

Whether it was a special kind of fate or not, just when Yan Jiefang was on the verge of despair, he actually saw his elder brother. This immediately gave Yan Jiefang hope to live.

"Brother, it's me, Jiefang! Hurry up and get me some food. I haven't eaten for two or three days. If I don't eat soon, I'll starve to death."

Hearing that familiar voice, Yan Jiecheng immediately quickened his pace. Yan Jiecheng himself was also struggling, so why would he bother with his younger brother? He hadn't even recovered from his own illness; how could he care about others?

Seeing that his elder brother was ignoring him, how could Yan Jiefang possibly let him off easily? When it comes to selfishness, the Yan family is definitely among the worst.

“I want to report that the person in front of me is a capitalist. He used to be the descendant of a landlord, and he often tries to undermine socialism.”

Those wearing red armbands immediately chased after Yan Jiecheng upon hearing his words. A normal person might be able to escape, but Yan Jiecheng was clearly not normal. How could a cripple outrun others?

When Yan Jiecheng was brought back, he glared fiercely at his younger brother. Yan Jiecheng never expected that his brother would report him.

"You beast! If I had known this would happen, I shouldn't have saved you in the first place. People like you should die sooner rather than later, so you don't have to stay and cause trouble for others."

"You don't need to say these high-sounding words. You only save me because I'm still of use to you. If I weren't still of use to you, why would you have saved me in the first place?"

"Since you refuse to pay attention to me, don't blame me for being ruthless. I will definitely not let you get away with this. Others may not know the details of my family, but do you think I don't? Since none of you care about me and leave me to fend for myself, then let's all just forget about each other."

After finishing his statement, Yan Jiefang quickly began to reveal the details of his family's history, especially their past as landlords. He then went on to expose the disgusting things his family had done over the years.

Seeing that Yan Jiefang was already paralyzed, these people didn't make things too difficult for him. Instead, they gave him some food. But Yan Jiecheng's life was not so good. He was taken back by these people and then forced to wear a tall hat.

Yan Jiecheng's health was already poor, and under the torture he had endured, he could no longer hold on for even ten days. Neither of the Yan brothers knew where the other was, and even if they wanted to reveal him, they had no chance.

Yan Jiecheng bore all the suffering alone. Fortunately, the situation wasn't too serious, and seeing that Yan Jiecheng was nearing his limit, they released him.

The thought of such a terrifying thing made Yan Jiecheng, dragging his broken body, begin to wander to other places.

It was said to be a special kind of fate. Just as Yan Jiecheng was about to leave Beijing, he actually saw Yan Jiefang.

Thinking of his own ordeal, Yan Jiecheng disregarded brotherhood. As Yan Jiefang was about to drink water, he secretly pushed him into the water.

While pushing him, he deliberately covered his face, and after Yan Jiefang entered the water, he turned and left. Although Yan Jiefang knew that it was his older brother, he was completely powerless to resist. He could only struggle in the water, at most raising his head slightly to try and call for help. But every time he tried to speak, he would choke on water.

By this time, Yan Jiefang already regretted reporting his elder brother. If he hadn't reported him, his brother wouldn't have harmed him.

To survive, Yan Jiefang could only keep looking at his elder brother. Occasionally, he would utter a word or two, hoping that his brother would spare him out of consideration for their shared blood.

Yan Jiefang never imagined the extent of the harm she had caused Yan Jiecheng. If it weren't for Yan Jiefang, Yan Jiecheng's health might have been almost fully recovered. He could have easily found a place to settle down and survived.

Yet, this harm came because of his own brother's report. How could Yan Jiecheng possibly let his brother off so easily?

Yan Jiecheng ignored Yan Jiefang's pleas and walked at a distance, observing Yan Jiefang's movements.

A normal person pushed into the water can climb out, but Yan Jiefang could only crawl like a maggot. Even a small ditch would have been enough to drown him. In less than a few minutes, Yan Jiefang slowly lost consciousness, and even the water gradually calmed down.

Yan Jiecheng, who was some distance away, didn't stop either. Seeing that his younger brother was no longer moving, he quickened his pace. As long as he wasn't caught, it was none of his business.

Even if someone asks now, he can simply say that he accidentally rolled in. After all, the water was so shallow, and he didn't have any injuries; who would know that he was the one who did it?

To avoid getting involved, Yan Jiecheng quickly left and went elsewhere to make a living.

It was said to be a special kind of fate. Not long after Yan Jiecheng left, a villager came over. He had heard the commotion, but he was too far away to arrive in time. When he got there, he found that Yan Jiecheng had already passed away.

They pulled Yan Jiefang from the water and began treatment. Yan Jiefang had simply swallowed too much water and was unable to breathe. After squeezing the water out of his stomach, he regained his life. Seeing that Yan Jiefang was awake, the villagers didn't interfere. After all, they were struggling to make ends meet; who would care about someone who was completely paralyzed?

Having recovered somewhat, Yan Jiefang could only move towards areas with people and then try to gain sympathy by appealing to their plight.

Fate can be very cruel sometimes. Yan Jiecheng walked for more than a week and arrived in Hebei. There he survived.

Arriving in a strange place, Yan Jiecheng changed his name and started a new life. No one paid any attention to a homeless beggar. But two or three months later, Yan Jiecheng encountered Yan Jiefang again in a dilapidated temple.

Yan Jiecheng witnessed Yan Jiefang drowning with his own eyes. Yan Jiecheng thought his younger brother was coming to take his life, and he was so frightened that he wet his diaper.

"Liberation! Please, please spare me! If you hadn't gone too far, why would I have killed you? We're brothers, please let me go!"

Lying on the ground, Yan Jiefang finally saw his elder brother clearly. Yan Jiefang never expected that he would actually run into his elder brother again.

Although he wished he could tear his elder brother to pieces, Yan Jiefang was powerless and had been barely surviving on the charity of others.

All Yan Jiefang could do was scare his older brother.

"Do you know how miserable I am? I came here specifically to take your life. You've hurt me so badly, I will never let you go. Even if I go to hell, I'll drag you down with me."

"Jiefang, you can't blame me for how you turned out this way. If you hadn't gone too far, how could you have ended up like this?"

"I've had enough of this life. If you want to drag me down to hell, then let's go together! Maybe I can start a new life in hell."

Upon hearing Yan Jiecheng's words, Yan Jiefang was at a loss for what to do, because he had no other options besides intimidation.

Seeing Yan Jiefang's bewildered expression, Yan Jiecheng was no longer afraid. When a person is not even afraid of death, they have become fearless.

Upon closer inspection, they discovered that Yan Jiefang was not dead at all, because a dead person wouldn't have that sour, foul smell. Yan Jiecheng hadn't been having an easy time either, and seeing his younger brother sparked other thoughts in him.
