Chapter 308 Absence Makes the Heart Blossom

After shopping, filming, and having dinner, Chu Yu told them about things to keep in mind when visiting the port city.

I carefully explained to them how to go to the convenience store, how to order food, how to take the elevator, to stand on the right side of the escalator, not to spit on the ground, and not to litter.

The mainland is far less civilized than Hong Kong. If they are not careful when traveling far from home for the first time, they are bound to make a fool of themselves. Adults have strong self-esteem, and they are already disappointed enough by the bustling Hong Kong. Chu Yu does not want them to make a fool of themselves again.

Chu Yu led them through the mall, took them to the restroom, and explained how to live in the port city. After doing all that, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

"Sister, if you hadn't told me, I would have been completely clueless." Chu Xiang had never ridden an elevator before. There were many elevators in Hong Kong, but Chu Xiang was nervous when she rode one. Her face turned red, and she would become so nervous that she didn't know what to do if the person behind her urged her to press the elevator button.

"This is the open button, this is the close button, and these represent the floors. If you press the wrong button, you can press and hold the button to cancel."

Everyone, including Zhong Buyi, listened attentively.

Chu Yu then took them back to the hotel by bus. She helped them buy bus tickets and showed them how to read the bus stop signs and how to transfer to the subway.

The port city had a subway as early as 1910.

This is unimaginable for mainlanders. Nobody knows how to take the subway, but in Hong Kong, it's inconvenient to go anywhere without the subway. Chu Yu can't take them with him all the time. If they need to go out, they need to know how to take the railway.

Chu Yu was a very good teacher. Everyone learned to take the bus and subway, to call out "handsome guy" or "handsome girl" when eating, to pay in Hong Kong dollars, to buy things at convenience stores, to use the restroom in shopping malls, and to read traffic lights.

Everything was incredibly new and exciting.

They were like newborn babies, waiting for Chu Yu's guidance.

Back at the hotel, everyone relaxed and felt less out of place; they felt closer to the port city.

Chu Yu then taught them how to use the showerhead and control the hotel lights. If cleaning was needed, they could hang a "Cleaning Room" sign on the door.

After settling them in, Chu Yu was exhausted. She returned to her room and had just finished showering when a series of regular knocks came at the door.

This was the secret code she and Dai Donglin had agreed upon.

Chu Yu opened the door, and Dai Donglin stood there staring intently at her. They hadn't seen each other for a long time, and Dai Donglin missed her terribly. He didn't know what other men were like; he was very attached to his girlfriend and longed to be with her every day.

Qin Weidong got a girlfriend in the port city, but he wasn't interested.

Other childhood friends had also found temporary partners in Hong Kong, but Dai Donglin still showed no interest.

His heart was completely devoted to Chu Yu. He had finally tasted the bitterness of love, which was not only passionate but also torturous. He couldn't see her every day and could only relieve his longing by making an occasional phone call.

Dai Donglin suddenly pulled her into his arms, nuzzled her neck, and said in a hoarse voice:

I missed you so much!

Chu Yu pursed her lips and muttered, "I thought that if I went to university in Beijing, we could see each other more often. I didn't expect it would be even worse than when we were in Deyang."

"Who can argue with that?"

Dai Donglin kissed her on the lips, urgently and passionately. Dai Donglin smelled of soap, obviously having just taken a shower. Chu Yu found it amusing, her legs going weak from his kisses, yet she also thought it was wise of him to come after taking a shower.

Dai Donglin pressed her against the door, his tongue prying open her lips and plunging into her mouth until Chu Yu moaned weakly, clinging to his shoulder and panting.

From the entrance hall to the bed, the two had their clothes stripped off by each other without anyone noticing. Chu Yu was pinned to the bed by him, and his arms were pulled above his head.

Dai Donglin's affection was primal; he tried every means to please her with his lips and tongue.

The body succumbed to illness even earlier than the heart.

Half an hour later, the two stopped. Chu Yu's legs were sore. He was always exceptionally enthusiastic. Fortunately, she was in good health and could play along with his antics. Someone else might not have been able to satisfy him.

Afterwards, Dai Donglin went to the bathroom to wash up, while Chu Yu lay on the bed looking at a map of the port city.

She was wearing his white shirt, her two legs swinging, slender and white, faintly visible.

Dai Donglin was somewhat dissatisfied. This woman was delicate and gentle in bed, calling him "brother" this and "brother" that, but once it was over, she was like a different person, with a serious expression as if she were writing a thesis.

Dai Donglin kissed her neck, making Chu Yu feel numb all over, and she giggled.

"What are you looking at? Is this thing even prettier than your boyfriend?"

It had been so long since they last met, and she wasn't clingy at all, which made Dai Donglin quite disappointed.

Chu Yu chuckled and patted his forehead. "I was looking at a map of Hong Kong."

Dai Donglin took the map with dissatisfaction. "What are you looking at? Where do you want to go? I'll find someone to show you."

Chu Yu was very familiar with Hong Kong and didn't need anyone to guide her. She wanted to see how the real estate market was distributed and where she could make money.

The real estate project that Dai Donglin and Qin Weidong were undertaking was based on Chu Yu's suggestion, which involved purchasing a piece of commercial land.

Because of the economic downturn, the government subsidized the real estate market, and they only spent a small amount of money to convert commercial land into residential land.

This land has low costs and is intended for affordable housing, so its price will be far below the market price once it is launched.

In order to make a name for themselves, Dai Donglin and Qin Weidong hired an interior designer from Belgium. This designer not only knew interior design, but also knew how to make the most of space.

In the port city, houses are small and land is extremely valuable. For ordinary people, buying a house of 40 or 50 square meters is considered quite good.

Often, the whole family would squeeze into a small house.
