Wang Lan and the others stood at the door peeking out, thinking that this was the boyfriend Shu Hui had found.
They couldn't hear anything, but they noticed that Shu Hui's expression was evasive and different from usual. They assumed she was shy and even winked at her teasingly.
Shu Hui blushed with embarrassment.
For her generation, everyone had been with one man. After divorcing Zhou Jian'an, Shu Hui never considered remarrying. After all, being divorced with three daughters and then trying to find another man would be very unpleasant for people in the countryside to talk about.
Shu Hui was concerned about her reputation and also afraid of embarrassing her daughter, so she had long since given up on the idea of getting married.
She was an upright and honest person, never had any scandals, and spoke to everyone with grace and tact. Who would have thought she would run into someone like Cao Gang, a scoundrel?

"Mom!" Chu Yu called out several times before she came to her senses. "Chu Yu? Why are you back?"
"I was just worried about you and Chuchu, so I came back to sleep for a few days. Mom, why are you leaving so fast? Who's chasing you?"
Shu Hui was too ashamed to talk about Cao Gang, so she shook her head and didn't say anything, just pushed her bicycle forward with a heavy heart.
Chu Yu didn't say anything, but the next day she went to the old shop in Yorkham.
"Is someone coming to pick up my mom? What does she look like?"
"He was of medium height, not bad looking, not ugly, and seemed quite confident. He even blocked Sister Shu Hui from leaving. We thought it was just a young couple's playful banter, so we didn't go out to help. Later, when we saw that Sister Hui's expression was off, we realized something was wrong."
The person Wang Lan is talking about does resemble Cao Gang quite a bit.
But Cao had just injured his hand with Chu Yu, so how could he have the nerve to approach Shu Hui?
