Seeing that Chu Yu didn't speak, Shu Hui pointed to the menu and said, "Let's have one of each: roujiamo (Chinese hamburger), hamburger, chicken wings, and popcorn chicken. Oh, and please don't put scallions in the roujiamo, my daughter doesn't like scallions."
The proprietress smiled, turned around, lifted the curtain, and went into the kitchen. In just over ten minutes, she came out with a tray and placed the food that Shu Hui had ordered in front of them.
Chu Yu stared blankly at the food on the table.
This is exactly the same as Chu Yu's, and some parts have even been improved. It smells pretty good.
"Mom, which one do you want to eat?"
Shu Hui smiled, picked up a roujiamo (Chinese hamburger) and broke it in half for Chu Yu. The mother and daughter tasted everything on the plate, and both of them had serious expressions, thinking that the food was quite good.
Compared to the refined atmosphere of Yorkshire, the food at this small shop has a rustic, down-to-earth quality, which is what many people call the taste of home.
Chu Yu didn't know what the problem was. She couldn't possibly rush up to the proprietress and ask her where she got the recipe, let alone call the police to investigate.
Firstly, no one would admit to such a thing, and secondly, she has no evidence whatsoever. She's not the only one who can sell roujiamo (Chinese hamburger) and fast food. She's really wronged her. If word gets out, it will inevitably make diners who don't know the truth laugh at her.
Seeing that they had finished eating, the proprietress came over to clear the table. She glanced at Chu Yu and said with a smile:
"Girl, is this your daughter?"
Shu Hui was taken aback for a moment, then quickly nodded, "She is my eldest daughter."
"You're really good at having children; this girl is so beautiful. How many more daughters like her do you have?"
Shu Hui couldn't help but feel a sense of goodwill towards her, and smiled, "I have three daughters. This is my eldest daughter, and there are two younger ones who are both in school."
"You are so lucky. I dream of having a daughter, but you have three. Who wouldn't envy you?"
The proprietress was straightforward and eloquent, always smiling at people. She won over Shu Hui with just a few words, and Chu Yu naturally found it hard to refuse her kindness.
Seeing the proprietress staring at him, Chu Yu smiled and said, "How long has your shop been open? I live nearby and this is the first time I've heard of a roujiamo (Chinese hamburger) shop here."
The proprietress laughed, "It's been open for seven or eight years."
"Seven or eight years?" Chu Yu frowned. "I thought Yorkham was the first fast food restaurant, but I didn't expect you to be there earlier than them."
"No, not really. My shop used to only sell roujiamo (Chinese hamburger). I only added these other fast food options two years ago. Fast food is mainly popular with young customers, and it's easy to make, so I kept selling it. Roujiamo is still the best-selling item in our shop. After all, fast food is expensive and doesn't fill you up. Our shop is a small place, and most of our customers are local residents. How many of them are willing to spend money on fast food? They just bring their kids here on weekends to satisfy their cravings."
