Ten minutes later, the child returned with a young man. The young man looked to be under twenty years old, with a narrow face and regular features. He had bright eyes when he looked at people and exuded a righteous aura, making him very suitable for the persona of a righteous martial arts master.
Seeing Chu Yu sizing up the seventh son, Madam Hua knew things were looking promising and immediately exclaimed:
"Seventh brother, go up and show off a couple of boxing techniques... Never mind, let the eldest brother spar with you instead."
Old Seven tucked his shirt into his waistband, did a backflip, and jumped onto the ring. He was agile and quick-witted.
The senior student also threw off his clothes and jumped onto the stage.
The eldest brother was tall with a square face, looking very dignified. However, his eyes were too serious and sinister, making him look less like a good person and more like a villain in a movie.
Compared to the eldest brother's stern demeanor, the seventh brother seemed much more agile. However, he was half a head shorter than the eldest brother and his physique was not as strong. Standing opposite the eldest brother, he had a sense of being crushed and weak, just like a menial underling.
Before the fight even started, Chu Yu was already worried about Lao Qi.
"Seventh brother won't lose, will he?"
"Don't worry! This kid is very agile. Senior Brother looks scary and his kung fu is better than his, but he always loses to him in the arena. In our Fierce Tiger Martial Arts School, this kid is the smartest."
The eldest brother suddenly launched an attack, and the seventh brother countered his moves with difficulty.
Chu Yu's concerns were valid. The seventh brother was small in stature and had no advantage in offensive battles. Facing an opponent as strong as the eldest brother, he was clearly at a disadvantage.
But Madam Hua was right. The seventh brother was quick-witted and agile. The Fierce Tiger Martial Arts School was good at boxing, but his footwork was even better than his handwork. His swift and powerful kicks were unmatched.
The seventh brother didn't fall behind for long. He had been waiting for his chance. Finally, the eldest brother's movements made a mistake. The seventh brother suddenly did a backflip, jumped behind the eldest brother, and kicked him in the side of the waist.
The senior brother was not as agile as him and had no time to dodge. He was kicked and staggered a few steps, almost rolling off the stage.
"Great!" the child exclaimed, clapping enthusiastically.
The eldest brother was furious. He had always managed the martial arts school. As the eldest brother, he was like a father to these kids, and he was no different from their biological father. He provided them with food and drink and even had to clean up their messes. Yet, these kids actually applauded the seventh brother.
"You brat, you feed and pamper me all the time, and you're actually badmouthing me!"
The child touched his nose and said in a childish voice, "My eldest brother is good to me, and my seventh brother is also good to me. But my seventh brother's backflip kick is indeed much better than my eldest brother's. My seventh brother was taught by my eldest brother. My seventh brother is good because my eldest brother taught him well. My seventh brother beat my eldest brother. This is called the student surpassing the master."
The eldest brother was initially quite annoyed, but a few words from the little brat calmed him down, and a smug smile appeared on his face.
The seventh brother was also very pleased with himself, and kept giving the other brothers meaningful glances.
His senior brother disciplined him like a father, and being able to defeat his senior brother was a great relief, so he couldn't help but chuckle.
"Senior sister! How was it? I did pretty well, right?" The seventh brother ran over, covered in sweat.
Mrs. Hua looked at Chu Yu, "President Zhou, what do you think of the seventh son?"
The seventh brother is indeed quite good, but there is a difference between his real-life appearance and his on-screen appearance. Whether he can succeed depends on whether he looks good on camera.
“I want him and this youngest child to go to Beijing for an audition. If there are no problems after the audition, we can talk about signing a contract.”
Being able to audition means having a chance. Lao Qi is the most outstanding in appearance and the best in kung fu among the disciples of the martial arts school. It was not surprising that he was selected, but it was a great surprise to Madam Hua that Xiao Wen was selected.
"This child is only five years old. Are you sure you want him to come to Beijing with you?"
Chu Yu gave an affirmative answer, "The roles that suit him are indeed quite good, but I think he's very talented, chubby, funny, and quite uninhibited. He would have no problem playing a little monk role."
Mrs. Hua was overjoyed. Xiao Wen was a left-behind child from her hometown. The child's parents were disabled, and his grandparents were too old to take care of him. They gave Mrs. Hua some money so that she could bring him over to learn martial arts, hoping that the child would have a skill.
Madam Hua doesn't know how to take care of children, so the child usually just runs around the martial arts school.
In this day and age, even someone as skilled as the eldest brother couldn't find a job, let alone Xiao Wen. Madam Hua was really worried, afraid that if Xiao Wen grew up in the martial arts school, he wouldn't have money to go to school, and his martial arts skills would be mediocre. If the martial arts school went out of business one day, Xiao Wen wouldn't have a skill and would have trouble even making a living.
Unexpectedly, Chu Yu took a liking to Xiao Wen. Madam Hua was overjoyed and then went further, trying to sell Xiao Wen to Chu Yu, telling her to come to the martial arts school to choose any martial arts actors she needed for minor roles.
Whether it's a gangster drama or the upcoming martial arts drama, Chu Yu's crew lacks extras who know kung fu. These tough guys who fight with real weapons would greatly enhance the watchability of the action scenes. Taking them into the Hong Kong entertainment industry wouldn't be a problem. As long as Lao Qi can be selected, Chu Yu will take care of the rest.
Mrs. Hua was overjoyed. She had originally thought that Chu Yu was President Hua's mistress, but who would have thought that President Hua, this loser, would bring a turning point to the Fierce Tiger Martial Arts School.
"Thank you, Mr. Zhou, for giving our martial arts school this opportunity."
"You're too kind. Passing on traditional culture is no easy task. If Chinese Kung Fu is to spread throughout the world, then those who know martial arts must be able to have better opportunities for development. I am willing to do my part for the martial arts school and for the preservation of Chinese martial arts."
Chu Yu's words stirred Mrs. Hua's blood. These days, there aren't many entrepreneurs with Chu Yu's style and vision.
All things considered, she's a million times better than that promiscuous, dirty cucumber, Mr. Hua!
