There was something she hadn't told Lin Yang: she had had a relationship with Wei Mingyuan. If Lin Yang minded her past and couldn't accept it, Zhuo Linmei really didn't know what to do.
Zhuo Linmei finally couldn't resist and asked Lin Yang out.
Lin Yang had just finished training, and although his skin was a bit tanned, he was full of energy. He jogged over and said with a smile, "Lin Mei."
Zhuo Linmei felt a little guilty and preoccupied. She found a chair and sat down without saying a word.
Lin Yang was a little confused. "What's wrong? Who made you unhappy? Was it Wei Mingyuan? Don't worry, once we get married, Wei Mingyuan won't be able to do anything to you."
Zhuo Linmei shook her head. Wei Mingyuan had come to see her several times, wanting to confront her, but Zhuo Linmei was afraid of the negative impact and had been avoiding him.
Zhuo Linmei didn't think she had done anything wrong to Wei Mingyuan, but she felt she had wronged Lin Yang, who had a crush on her for a long time. Zhuo Linmei was not a perfect woman; she was vain, competitive, jealous, and liked to compare herself to others.
She would feel uncomfortable whenever a girl in the performing arts troupe wore a new dress; she wanted one too.
If other people's boyfriends are generous, she will hope that her boyfriend will be generous as well.
Zhuo Linmei didn't know how other people's relationships were, but if Lin Yang had a fiancée who had a relationship with him, Zhuo Linmei didn't think she was that generous to accept Lin Yang like that!
She gets jealous, acts silly, and throws tantrums. She tries every possible way to argue with Lin Yang, questioning him repeatedly and making trouble for him, making his life miserable.
But now everything has turned around, and Zhuo Linmei has become the one who wronged Lin Yang.
Zhuo Linmei had a relationship with Wei Mingyuan, and this couldn't be kept secret forever. Lin Yang would find out sooner or later. Lin Yang loved her so much, and Zhuo Linmei couldn't imagine how heartbroken Lin Yang would be after hearing about it. Zhuo Linmei regretted it; she regretted that she was such a bad person, and that God was constantly punishing her.
If she did more good deeds, would she be luckier?
She genuinely believed she would marry Wei Mingyuan, which is why she gave herself to him.
Little did she know that after Wei Mingyuan coaxed her into bed, he would become a different person and start breaking his promises.
Zhuo Linmei sniffed, tears welling in her eyes. Lin Yang couldn't bear to see her so sad.
"Did Wei Mingyuan come to see you? I'm going to find him right now and ask him!"
"No!" Zhuo Linmei grabbed Lin Yang's arm, tears streaming down her face. "He didn't contact me. I have something to tell you."
Lin Yang paused for a moment, then looked at her with gentle eyes.
Love is a strange thing. Zhuo Linmei is not a good woman in the traditional sense. In fact, she has many flaws. If she were in a novel, she would likely be the villain, the bad daughter, or a pretty but empty vase.
But Lin Yang really liked her. He thought she was right no matter what Zhuo Linmei did, whether she was throwing a tantrum, causing trouble, or doing bad things. He unconditionally tolerated her and was blindly infatuated with her. He could only see the good in her.
His love was somewhat morbid; if he hadn't snatched Zhuo Linmei away from Wei Mingyuan, Lin Yang wouldn't know what he would have done.
Zhuo Linmei sniffed, and finally decided to tell the truth:
"Lin Yang, you said you wanted to be with me before, and I never imagined someone would have a crush on me for so long. Wei Mingyuan upset me; he said a lot of hurtful things. I was holding my breath and wanted to show him what I was capable of! I needed a man to marry to provoke Wei Mingyuan and make him a laughingstock. So, I used you!"
Lin Yang nodded and said very naturally, "Then let's make use of it, there's nothing wrong with that."
Zhuo Linmei was stunned, her eyes widening in disbelief that Lin Yang would say something so morally reprehensible.
"I'm using you, Lin Yang! That's wrong in itself, how can it not be wrong?"
Lin Yang didn't think there was anything wrong with it. Zhuo Linmei was using him, which meant he had value to her, right?
This shows that Zhuo Linmei needs him.
Zhuo Linmei was shocked by him. She could hear every word Lin Yang said, but when put together, she just couldn't understand what he was saying. She felt that Lin Yang was a bit dangerous. How could he be so reckless?
"But there's something I've hidden from you. Back then, I thought I was definitely going to marry Wei Mingyuan, so I..."
Lin Yang covered Zhuo Linmei's lips, stopping her from continuing.
Zhuo Linmei blinked, and a tear fell from her eye. She saw Lin Yang's eyes, which were filled with deep affection, an affection that Zhuo Linmei had never seen in anyone else's eyes before.
Wei Mingyuan didn't have this kind of deep affection. Zhuo Linmei thought marriage was just about living together, but Lin Yang actually loved her so much.
Lin Yang gave a pale smile, and said somewhat helplessly:
"Linmei, there are some things you don't need to tell me, I know everything."
Wei Mingyuan was not a good person. Once, when he was drunk, he boasted to Lin Yang that Zhuo Linmei was his woman and that even if he didn't give her a single penny of dowry, Zhuo Linmei wouldn't dare to turn against him.
That time, Lin Yang knew what had happened between them.
He had also suffered, but he understood that some things, once they happened, could be brought up again. Zhuo Linmei would be honest with him, showing that she was tormented inside. She was afraid that he would care, and that he would, like Wei Mingyuan, bring up this matter to argue with her.
He saw Zhuo Linmei's struggles.
Lin Yang didn't want her to be unhappy. He had gone to great lengths to snatch Zhuo Linmei away from Wei Mingyuan, and he couldn't let her feel insecure. Besides, what did it matter? It was just youthful ignorance.
