Although Li Zhou was cool, he was obedient and well-behaved. Chu Yu and Shu Lan both thought he was a good kid and suggested that Shen Zhuyu take him in.
Shen Zhuyu hadn't really considered Li Zhou, and her face turned red from their comments.
"What nonsense are you talking about? There's no way we could be together."
"Why is it impossible?"
"He's seven years younger than me!" Shen Zhuyu was younger, but older than Li Zhou. However, Chu Yu didn't think a few years difference was a problem. What was wrong with a relationship between an older woman and a younger man? The older woman was in her thirties, like a wolf in sheep's clothing, while the younger man was in his youthful, restless years! This wasn't a perfect match!
Shen Zhuyu's face turned even redder. "What do you mean, 'thirty is like a wolf'? You're all just restless youths! You can leave now!"
Chu Yu and Shu Lan exchanged a smile. "Let's hurry up and make room for her."
"Yeah, the little brother is too enthusiastic, I'm afraid the older sister can't handle it," Shulan teased.
Shen Zhuyu was furious. She thought of Li Zhou. Li Zhou was indeed a rare find. There were very few clean-cut boys like him in this era. He was cool most of the time and seemed arrogant, but he was also very obedient and would listen to whatever she said.
Li Zhou came out after washing the dishes. "They're gone?"
"Yes, if they say anything inappropriate, don't take it to heart."
"What inappropriate thing to say?" Li Zhou raised an eyebrow.
“Like joking around with us,” Shen Zhuyu said nonchalantly, her face slightly flushed. She sat on the sofa with her legs crossed, her calves long and slender, her ankles beautifully shaped. Li Zhou tried to recall Sun Xiaoya's figure, but frankly, he couldn't quite remember. “They just love to play matchmaker. But they're also worried about me, afraid I'll be too lonely, and they hope I'll find a boyfriend.”
Shen Zhuyu took out nail polish, wanting to paint her nails. She was a little uncomfortable and wanted to change her posture when suddenly someone grabbed her toes.
Shen Zhuyu was stunned, her breath caught in her throat. Li Zhou half-squatted on the ground, pinched her foot, and placed it in his palm. Shen Zhuyu tried to pull it back, but he held her ankle.
Li Zhou took the nail polish from her. "Don't touch it. I don't know how to apply it. Tell me and I'll learn slowly."
Shen Zhuyu choked for a moment, inexplicably feeling that something was off about his behavior. Were they being too ambiguous? She wanted him to be a free babysitter, but that didn't include these things!
Besides, her feet would get dirty, how come he doesn't care at all?
Shen Zhuyu taught him a lesson. Li Zhou held her foot; Shen Zhuyu's toes were very round and cute, with a light sheen. It was Li Zhou's first time doing something like this, and he was very focused. Shen Zhuyu noticed that his eyelashes were very long, his face had a smooth curve, and his nose was high.

Since Chen Zhuyu needed to dry, Li Zhou brought a fan to help her fan herself.
"Do you want to apply it to your hands?" Li Zhou asked.
Chen Zhuyu nodded, "Alright, as long as you don't mind the fatigue."
"I don't mind the fatigue, it's actually quite fun."
Shen Zhuyu curled her lips. Li Zhou was applying the makeup very seriously. He was handsome and obedient. Shen Zhuyu really couldn't understand why his girlfriend was so blind. "Why did you get dumped?"
"What? Gossiping?"
"No, I'm just curious. You're such a handsome guy, and you seem like a really nice person. You don't look like the type to mess around outside. With your looks, what woman could dump you? I don't think it makes sense."
Li Zhou's lips inexplicably curled up; Shen Zhuyu's words pleased him. "So, if you were a woman, would you abandon me?"
"Of course not. If I were a woman... no, I am a woman. You're handsome, rich, and willing to spend money on women. You're also quite good to women. If you were my boyfriend, I would protect you like the plague. How could I possibly abandon you? That's why I'm so curious. Tell me, why did your girlfriend break up with you?"
"I don't know. I originally wanted to go abroad with her, but she tricked me into going abroad. I only found out after I got there that she was heavily pregnant and about to give birth."
"Damn it!" Shen Zhuyu's eyes widened, and she swore.
Li Zhou looked up at her, and Shen Zhuyu covered her mouth, reverting to her ladylike demeanor. "Your girlfriend cheated on you? Who's the guy?"
"She is a teacher at a training institution."
"!!" Shen Zhuyu felt that life was full of gossip. Li Zhou was not old, but the gossip was quite interesting. Shen Zhuyu looked at him with a sympathetic look. This kid has not had an easy time!
Her gaze shocked Li Zhou. He frowned and said, "What kind of look is that? Don't try to make him pity me. I've already moved on."
"They got out so quickly? That doesn't make sense."
"Thanks to someone! They make me cook and do housework every day. I don't know how to do anything, so I have to learn little by little. I'm so busy all the time, how can I have the mood to think about anything else?"
Someone whistles and looks up at the sky.
After Shen Zhuyu's nail polish dried, it looked beautiful. She hummed a song in a good mood, and Li Zhou looked at her lovely nails and his mood inexplicably improved.
He used to want to be good to others wholeheartedly, but that person didn't appreciate it.
But he wasn't very nice to Shen Zhuyu; he only painted her nails, and she was so happy.
If he treated her a little better, would she be even happier and more fulfilled? Thinking of Shen Zhuyu's childhood life of picking up trash, Li Zhou felt a pang of heartache and kept thinking about how he could treat her even better.
