After joining Goldman Sachs, Greyhound was no longer the same Greyhound. He was now more ruthless and crazy. He rented a large car locally, tied Zhou Jian'an up, and tied him to the car with a rope. In this way, when the car drove forward, Zhou Jian'an would be submerged in water and speeding across the water.
The seawater would make it impossible for him to breathe, would cause him to lose control of his bladder, and would make him taste the bitterness of death.
Even if he were still alive, looking at the dark night sky and the sea, the fear in his heart would make him surrender and hand over everything the Greyhound wanted.
Zhou Jian'an was terrified; he hadn't expected Mao Xia and Greyhound to know his address.
How did they know?!
It was as if an invisible hand was controlling him.
Zhou Jian'an felt as if he had forgotten some crucial information. He thought he would grasp it soon, but he always seemed to miss the truth when he faced it head-on.
Zhou Jian'an was terrified. He was tied to the Greyhound's flying vehicle, which was moving very fast. Zhou Jian'an was submerged in seawater; they weren't planning to let him live.
Greyhound stood on the large flying vehicle, looked at Zhou Jian'an, and smiled:
"I heard you have 60 million."
Zhou Jian'an's expression changed, but he hurriedly forced a smile:
"What nonsense are you talking about? This is ridiculous! How could I possibly have 60 million! Everyone knows I went bankrupt in the South China Sea. I don't have a single penny left, I'm struggling to make ends meet, and I'm wanted by the police..."
At this point, Zhou Jian'an realized he had said the wrong thing.
Mao Xia indeed seized upon his weakness and sneered:
"Wanted? Why would the police issue a warrant for your arrest? Didn't you flee to Shenzhen? Did you commit fraud in Shenzhen? Did you get the 60 million you have by swindling people in Shenzhen?"
Zhou Jian'an didn't dare to speak, and Mao Xia knew she had guessed correctly.
"As expected, I really shouldn't underestimate you. You're incredibly lucky; you always manage to swindle money time and time again. It's thanks to you that we had the chance to meet in the South China Sea! Zhou Jian'an, I don't want to say any more. Greyhound and I killed someone in Hong Kong. We have no other way to go. If you don't give us the money, we can only wait for the police to come and arrest us! We're going to die anyway, so we might as well take you with us!"
"Mao Xia! Listen to me!"
With his hands tied behind his back, Zhou Jian'an couldn't wipe the water off his face. He knew that both of them had gone mad.
It was so dark, and he was tied up in the sea, where he could sink at any moment. If Greyhound went all out and sped off, Zhou Jian'an wouldn't live much longer.
Zhou Jian'an had to find a way to save himself.
"Mao Xia! Listen to me, your uncle has some money, but it's all in Hong Kong, not with me. I don't have any cash on me. You have to let me go back to Hong Kong to get the money so I can give it to you!"
“Go back to Hong Kong? Zhou Jian'an, I just said, Greyhound and I killed someone in Hong Kong, I can’t go back!”
Having reached this point, Mao Xia no longer wanted to struggle.
She was really tired. For so many years, she was either on the run or on her way to be on the run.
She was tired of this kind of life and didn't want to work so hard anymore.
"Zhou Jian'an, I'm saying this one last time: hand over this money and I'll spare your life. Otherwise, this will be your grave. We'll cut the ropes and let your body sink into the sea. People will only think you committed suicide; no one will suspect us. You'll keep that money but won't live to spend it. Think about it yourself—what choice is most beneficial for you?"
Time has turned Mao Xia into a madman.
She is no longer the little girl who would show mercy to her own uncle.
She killed someone. When people are driven to desperation, they will abandon their bottom line and principles. Mao Xia had nothing left to lose, so naturally there was nothing she absolutely had to keep.
If Zhou Jian'an is unwilling to pay, then just kill him!
The dark sea fueled the evil within Mao Xia's heart.
Mao Xia felt something bursting out of her body, turning her into a strange madwoman.
Zhou Jian'an didn't expect Mao Xia to become so ruthless. He wanted to say something that would benefit him, but Mao Xia didn't want to listen, and Greyhound didn't have the patience to listen. Neither of them intended to make a deal with Zhou Jian'an.
"If you don't want to live, then die! Take that money with you to hell!"
After Mao Xia finished speaking, he got up and started the Big Flyer. Greyhound piloted the Big Flyer and pushed the engine to its maximum.
Dafei sped away at top speed, while Zhou Jian'an, whose hands were tied to a rope, was dragged along by Dafei.
The speed was too fast; the pain of Zhou Jian'an scraping against the sea surface was no less than that of scraping against the ground.
Zhou Jian'an was in so much pain that the darkness amplified his inner panic. Occasionally, he would open his eyes and find that the stars above him were very bright.
He hasn't been in the mood to look at the stars for many years.
The stars in Zhoujia Village are like that too, twinkling and extremely bright.
At that time, he was not wealthy. He was stuck in a small place like Zhoujia Village, with no money or fame, but he had plenty of time.
He often lay on the haystacks and looked at the stars, feeling that he was not a farmer, but rather a romantic poet.
Zhou Jian'an didn't know why he was thinking about the past.
Perhaps it's due to old age; aging came unexpectedly.
Only memories bring him back to life.
But the pain pulled Zhou Jian'an back to reality. The water rubbing against his body was too painful. After being tormented for a long time, Zhou Jian'an's mental defenses gradually collapsed.
The sound of Dafei's engine suddenly stopped.
Greyhound stopped its large aircraft, walked over, placed its feet on the edge of the aircraft, and looked down at the pained Zhou Jian'an.
"So? Have you made your choice? Do you choose to live, or hand over that money!"
Zhou Jian'an's lips trembled with pain. He opened one eye to look at the greyhound, "I'll give you thirty million! Buy my life. If you agree, I'll give you thirty million right now!"
