Greyhound had worked at casinos in the South China Sea for several years and knew people at this small bank. He wanted to slip them some money to get Zhou Jian'an's money out.
But these days, you can't withdraw much money from a bank without prior application. This person tried his best to help and even received a red envelope from Greyhound, but he could only withdraw 500,000 yuan in cash for Greyhound.
Something is better than nothing, right? Greyhound had no choice but to withdraw the 500,000 in cash.
He was afraid that Zhou Jian'an would report the cards lost, and he didn't know how Zhou Jian'an got these cards. Greyhound always felt unsafe.
Greyhound stayed in the South China Sea for a few days, withdrawing money every day. After withdrawing from the ATM, he would go to the counter, and after withdrawing from the counter, he would go to another ATM. He went back and forth many times until he finally withdrew four million in cash.
The cash was enormous, not a small sum. Greyhound put the money in the van, a black van he had acquired. He could drive it to other cities, and if he could withdraw the money there, he could continue withdrawing it. If he couldn't withdraw it, he could live on the four million for several years.
Greyhound lit a cigarette and heard the sound of washing up coming from the bathroom.
On the bed lay an open black bag filled with stacks of crisp new banknotes. In the bathroom sat an old, faded woman. Greyhound didn't love Mao Xia at all; if he did, he wouldn't have let her work as a prostitute.
Mao Xia is not his woman at all. Why should he share the money with Mao Xia after he gets it?
Besides, that old man was killed by Mao Xia, not by Greyhound. Why should he run around like this? He might as well abandon this woman, go to another city to hide for a while, and return to Hong Kong after things have calmed down.
Greyhound thought about it more and more and felt that this method was good.
He picked up his bag and was about to leave.
Mao Xia was washing her face in the bathroom. She had already told Greyhound that they would leave together.
With Greyhound receiving four million, Mao Xia felt hopeful for the future. They could use the money to open a shop in a small city and start a small business. Mao Xia had made up her mind; she wanted to start over, to earn money steadily, and not live this life of constantly running around.
As long as she is willing to work hard, it shouldn't be too late in her life.
She and Greyhound went to a new place and started over. Greyhound would treat her well when he had money. If she could earn more money, Greyhound would definitely not beat her. Her life would eventually get better.
As Mao Xia was thinking this, she suddenly felt that the silence outside the door was terrifying. A thought rushed into her mind. Mao Xia suddenly remembered a possibility. She dared not gamble on human nature. She had seen the evil in human nature. Greyhound could force her to become a prostitute. Running away with the money was really nothing to him.
Mao Xia opened the bathroom door.
I saw Greyhound carrying two bags of money, a cigarette dangling from his mouth, about to open the door.
Mao Xia almost jumped up!
She instinctively reached for the doorknob!
"Where are you going! Where are you going!" Mao Xia reacted too violently. With an incredulous expression, she stared wide-eyed at Greyhound and asked, "You want to abandon me and run away with the money? Greyhound, how could you have made so much money without me! I've treated you pretty well all these years, and this is how you treat me?"
Greyhound sneered. He thought Mao Xiatian was naive. He blew a smoke ring at Mao Xiatian and said, "After all these years, how can you still be so naive? You think I, Greyhound, am a good person? I'm fucking ruthless and capable of anything. I can kidnap Zhou Jian'an, so I can abandon you! Besides, I killed the person, and I withdrew the money. Why should I share it with you? Get the hell out of here!"
Greyhound was about to push Mao Xia away as he spoke.
Greyhound was carrying several bags and had another one hanging around his neck, making it inconvenient for him to push Mao Xia. Mao Xia blocked the door and wouldn't let go.
Her eyes widened, a hint of anxiety in them: "Greyhound, you can't do this to me! You took all the money, how am I supposed to live? My life is over! I was counting on this money to start over, to go to another city and do some small business, to make a better life for us, why did you have to abandon me!"
Greyhound thought the woman was hilarious.
"What kind of good life do I want with you! Now that I'm rich, I can find any young and beautiful woman I want, why would I want an old, faded prostitute like you! You've been played by so many men, who knows if you have any diseases! I, Greyhound, have only ever played with you, what real feelings do we have for each other! How come you only grow old but don't grow smart, always believing what men say!"
Mao Xia was provoked by his words, and she stood guard at the door fiercely.
"Greyhound, you can't leave! Half of this money belongs to me! I need this money to start over! Without this money, I'm finished! I'll have no hope for the rest of my life!"
As Mao Xia spoke, she started to cry. She didn't know why she was crying, but the tears just wouldn't stop flowing.
Mao Xia's empty eyes were filled with despair, but a man who didn't love her wouldn't feel any sympathy for her.
Greyhound, his face resolute, pushed her impatiently.
"Get the hell out of my way! If you don't get out of my way, don't blame me for being rude!"
Mao Xia shook her head, tears streaming down her face. She couldn't leave; if she did, her life would be over.
Mao Xia wouldn't leave, and Greyhound got a little annoyed, so he pushed her hard, and it looked like Mao Xia was about to let go.
She was filled with despair, like a drowning person on the verge of death. Even though the water was only an arm's length away from her, she still couldn't break through the surface to reach the air that could keep her alive.
Mao Xia thought about many things. She was unwilling, resentful, and didn't want her life to end like this!
She wanted to go to Greyhound and beat herself up. She remembered the old man who bullied her. Her life had turned out like this. Zhou Jian'an had to take responsibility, Xiang Yanlong had to take responsibility, and Greyhound had to take responsibility too!
Mao Xia caught a glimpse of a cold light in the corner of her eye.
