Chapter 123 Bait
Zheke coughed lightly, looked at Scarlett, and explained, "The reproduction of the Zerg is different from that of us Orcs. The females of their tribe need to mate with males continuously and reproduce offspring until they die."
"The larger the population expands, the more female insects they need. Therefore, they will wantonly snatch females from other species, modify their bodies, and turn them into female insects, turning them into reproductive tools."
Just a few words.
Scarlett broke out in a cold sweat and her scalp went numb.
She remembered the documentary about the ant queen she had seen.
The queen ant lays eggs throughout her long life until her death, creating a kingdom on her own. However, after she loses her fertility, she is cruelly abandoned or eaten by the ant colony.
Scarlett felt her heart was blocked and she couldn't breathe smoothly. Her face, which was full of energy just now, turned pale.
It’s hard to imagine how horrible her future life would be if she had been taken away just now.
Scarlett reached out and grabbed Dzeko's arm, pulling him to her side. With her other hand, she grabbed Brian and huddled behind them, saying timidly, "You, you must protect me. Don't let me be taken away by the Zerg."
"Riley, you too." She looked at Riley.
He turned around and looked at Mo Ting again.
Mo Ting was not wearing a mask and had taken off his sunglasses. He stood under the strong light with a cold face. His three-dimensional lines were shrouded in the strong light, and his sharp facial features became even sharper.
Scarlett thought about it and decided to give up.
He should be thankful that he didn't kill himself.
Silently retracted his gaze.
"Scarlett."
Mo Ting took the initiative to speak and called her.
Scarlett twisted her neck stiffly. "What's the matter?"
"How about giving it a try?" Mo Ting asked with a smile.
"Try what?" Scarlett opened her eyes wide.
Mo Ting said maliciously, "You were taken away by the Zerg and were able to obtain the clearance ore. Since this is possible, why don't we try again? Let's see if we can get the next ore this time."
Scarlett's teeth trembled. "You, you, you want me to be bait?"
"That's right."
Mo Ting nodded and admitted it frankly.
"no."
Dzeko refused on Scarlett's behalf: "The Zerg aren't very powerful, but they have numbers. If they appear in large numbers, we'll be easily distracted. This method is too dangerous and cannot be tried."
Scarlett nodded repeatedly with emotion, hugged his arm tightly, and refused to let go.
The thighs she chose at first sight were indeed safe.
Mo Ting walked over.
He glanced at Dzeko first, then pushed Brian aside, grabbed Scarlett's free arm, and brought her to him. "Don't worry, I will protect her."
Will Mo Ting protect her?
She must have heard it right.
Scarlett was jaw-dropping, but she did not forget to struggle desperately, trying to break free from Mo Ting's hand and completely join Dzeko's side.
But Mo Ting held her arms tightly. The more she struggled, the harder Mo Ting used. His strong hands seemed to be able to break her bones through her flesh.
“It hurts, it hurts.”
Scarlett cried out in pain, unable to bear it any longer.
She controlled the volume so as not to disturb the surrounding snow-capped mountains, but everyone around her could hear it.
"Mo Ting, you hurt her." Riley reminded.
Brian looked at Scarlett, then at Mo Ting, his dark jade eyebrows furrowed tightly, "Mo Ting, Scarlett is not feeling well, let her go."
Dzeko's expression was hidden in his mask.
A layer of frost appeared on that cold face, and the chill it released was enough to rival the overwhelming ice and snow.
He took off his sunglasses.
His amber pupils held a fierce light, like a beast staring at its prey, ready to strike.
Mo Ting smiled.
The gray-green eyes swept across Zheke's eyes with extremely sharp insight, and then retracted nonchalantly.
He looked at Dzeko but addressed Scarlett, "Scarlett, you delayed the game for us. Shouldn't you make amends? You refused such a good opportunity. It seems your 'dedicated efforts' are nothing more than that."
With just one word, Mo Ting pinched Scarlett's vital point, and her struggling stopped immediately.
She raised her head and looked at Mo Ting in a daze.
Mo Ting noticed her gaze, raised his eyebrows and turned to look at her.
The gray-green eyes were like dusty pearls, revealing a unique brightness that reached Scarlett's heart.
He didn't say anything, just looked at Scarlett.
There was contempt in her eyes, as if she was mocking what Scarlett had said before.
Scarlett pursed her lips. Although she was afraid, this was still a good opportunity. She tilted her neck and said, "Okay."
Mo Ting relaxed his grip a little, but he did not relax his desire to have Lascarrie come to his side.
Scarlett didn't move and said bluntly: "I can be bait, but I don't want your protection, I want Zheke's protection."
"Zheke?"
Mo Ting uttered these two words softly, his gaze returning to Zheke again. After thinking for a moment, he said, "Okay."
…
…
After the matter was settled, several people began to work on Scarlett being the "bait".
Brian was worried and whispered in Scarlett's ear, "Remember, it's okay to be bait, but don't fall into the water."
"Why?" Scarlett asked in a low voice.
Brian said bitterly, "Dzeko, Riley, and I aren't good swimmers. Shallow water is fine, but if we fall into a big hole like the one we had earlier, we're doomed. Our abilities will be drastically reduced, and we won't be able to protect ourselves."
Orcs retain their animal nature, and their abilities are affected by different environments.
Take Dzeko for example, his beast form is a tiger, and his level is SS, but if he fights underwater, he may not be as good as the A+ level mermaid Sevilla.
All things in the world are interdependent and mutually exclusive, and no matter how powerful the orcs are, they cannot avoid it.
Scarlett wiped the sudden cold sweat from her forehead, "Where's Mo Ting?"
"He's a pervert. He has no natural enemies and will do anything."
Brian glanced at her, recalling Mo Ting's previous actions, and suddenly changed the subject, "But, will he save you?"
"Won't."
Scarlett knew it well.
…
…
Females have a fatal attraction to Zerg. There is no need to seduce them specially, just act normally and they will automatically take the bait.
Scarlett was tired and sat down to rest.
She took out the food and distributed it to everyone.
When she was assigned to Mo Ting, she remembered Brian's words: no matter what, her life was the most important.
I added a fragrant roasted chicken leg to his meal.
Mo Ting looked at the chicken leg, then at Scarlett's fawning face, curled the corners of his lips, and took it.
Just about to eat.
But I saw Scarlett handing two chicken legs to Dzeko.
She also considerately wrapped the bone at the base of the chicken leg with a tissue to prevent him from getting his hands dirty.
Mo Ting narrowed his eyes.
The chicken leg in my hand suddenly lost its flavor.
It tastes bland after one bite.
"Eat, eat more. Only when you are full will you have the strength to fight." Scarlett urged everyone to eat like a caring parent.
She didn't miss out either. She had a chicken in her left hand and a duck in her right hand, and she ate more happily than anyone else.
Only when you are full will you have the strength to escape.
Eat and eat.
Scarlett noticed something was wrong.
There was a "grunting" sound beside her.
Closer and closer.
Her first reaction was that the Zerg were coming!
He dropped the roast duck in his hand and hugged Dzeko with his hands and feet like an octopus.
Zheke was also startled by her actions. After seeing clearly what species made the sound, he looked down at the person shaking off the chaff in his arms, patted her shoulder and said soothingly, "Don't worry, it's not her."
Scarlett looked up. "What's that?"
Dzeko said: "Wild boar."
Scarlett turned her head and looked.
A wild boar with fangs appeared not far from her, eating the roast duck she had thrown away with a "grunt".
She breathed a sigh of relief and quickly got off Zheke.
"Wild boar."
Scarlett looked at the wild boar that was half a man's height. "It's really fat. I think it will be good for eating for a long time after I kill it."
When the wild boar heard this, it slowed down its eating and raised its ears high.
"Why are there wild boars here?" Scarlett asked Dzeko.
Zheke said, "The desolate planet is special. There are all kinds of creatures. Some are exiled orcs who transform back into beast form after sealing off their spiritual power. Some are smuggled in from other planets. They have no identity and are considered illegal immigrants. They dare not transform easily for fear of being monitored by the Empire and deported."
"What about this one?" Scarlett pointed at the wild boar.
Zheke looked at it twice, but couldn't detect any mental power. He said uncertainly, "It might be an exiled orc."
"Pig orc?"
Scarlett, curious at the moment, took a few steps closer to the wild boar, took a closer look at it, and said with a smile, "I haven't seen pig orcs yet. I wonder if they will be fat and big-eared after they transform."
Zheke smiled and said, "Piglets are just like us, they don't have any special features."
Scarlett glanced at him and smiled, "That's right."
Scarlett continued to sit and eat.
But she didn't realize that she was a little further away from Dzeko, leaving a gap that could be cut.
The wild boar was still eating with a "grunt" sound.
The sound it makes is slow and low, and has a hypnotic effect when heard by the ears.
The effect is even greater when everyone is relaxed.
Riley and Brian's eyes were fixed on one place, and they gradually lost their focus. The things in their hands fell out, and the wild boar bravely walked over to eat them.
Zheke and Mo Ting looked at each other knowingly, letting the voice enter their ears and pretending to be in a daze.
Scarlett's eyelids felt heavy as she ate.
She shook her head and looked at the cream cake in her hand.
The white cream reflected a white light under the strong light, which merged with the white snow in front of her, making her dizzy.
"What's going on?"
Scarlett shook her head.
I want to open my eyes and look at other people.
When she turned her head, the wild boar with fangs appeared in front of her, grinning and speaking human language like a pervert.
"female."
"A beautiful female."
"I'm going to take it back to the cave and make it into a female insect."
Scarlett was startled, then suddenly came to her senses, stood up and wanted to run towards Dzeko.
But before she could stand up, the thick snow beneath her feet suddenly cracked into huge cracks, just like before.
Countless pairs of yellow hands appeared at the edge of the crack.
This time, there were more hands than last time, and they were so densely packed that Scarlett even developed claustrophobia.
She looked at Zheke desperately, her eyes brighter than ever.
Remember to save me.
The string in Dzeko's heart broke, and he reached out to grab Scarlett, but it was too late. Scarlett disappeared faster this time than last time.
As Scarlett disappeared, Brian and Riley came back to their senses one after another, noticed the ice cave at the first moment, and stood up immediately.
Mo Ting walked over to Zheke and followed his gaze towards the bottomless ice cave. "What do you think? Do you want to go or should I?"
Dzeko opened his mouth, but no sound came out.
Mo Ting had already jumped down.
