Chapter 04 Back

Chapter 04 Back

Si Wan left a week later, bidding farewell to everything in Kyoto.

Early in the morning in Country M, Si Li and Si Wan were sitting at the dining table having breakfast.

"Have you really let him go?" Si Li has a tough and sharp appearance, but when he smiles he is as gentle as a spring breeze, so that the intention of teasing is particularly obvious.

Si Wan rolled her eyes, then suddenly lifted one leg and stomped it on a nearby chair, shaking it with a carefree air. She bit a straw in her mouth, looking nonchalant. "It's too early to tell who can't let go. Let's wait and see."

The air suddenly became quiet...

Five seconds later...

Si Wan held the cutlery like a palace maid and laughed awkwardly: "Hehe, I learned a little bit from watching Young and Dangerous recently."

Si Li: “…”

Si Wan watched the video of "Young and Dangerous" on the phone of the passenger sitting next to her on the plane.

...I didn't expect it to be useful now.

Si Li's scrutinizing gaze lingered on Si Wan's face. He felt something was wrong, but couldn't put his finger on it. "Don't watch those kinds of fighting movies anymore."

However, during her three years in Country M, Si Wan earned a nickname...'Thirteenth Sister'.

[Wanbao, are you asleep?] Wu Nan’s WeChat message, sent during the day, reached Country M late at night.

[No, I just took a shower.] Si Wan replied to Wu Nan an hour later.

Wu Nan: [I found the place you asked me to check.]

Si Wan: [You're incredibly efficient. It's been three years since we got any news.] Dog head emoji.

Wu Nan: [Sister, you don't know how difficult the task you gave me is.]

Si Wan: [Is it difficult?]

Wu Nan: [Meeting Jinnian at his private residence. Is that difficult?] Dog head emoji.

Si Wan paused while wiping her hair: [Are you sure?]

Wu Nan: [Who am I? Could I be wrong?]

Si Wan: [I understand.]

After putting away her phone, Si Wan stood on the balcony with her eyes fixed for a moment, then raised her eyes and a faint smile appeared on the corner of her lips.

In the blink of an eye, the end of the month has arrived.

Night fell on the Kyoto Huading Building, and the entire building was brightly lit, like a shining lighthouse.

However, in the president's office, the atmosphere was extremely depressing, as if a dark cloud was covering the entire room.

Executives from all walks of life sat at the conference table, their bodies trembling slightly, their eyes filled with panic.

Yu Jinnian sat in a chair with a gloomy face, his eyes sweeping over every executive, as if examining their souls.

The man said nothing. The only sounds in the room were his breathing and the heartbeats of the executives.

As time passed, the executives became increasingly nervous.

They don't know what this ruthless dictator is thinking.

"How could a mere craftsman cause you such trouble?" After an unknown amount of time, Yu Jinnian suddenly sneered, "What? You want me to go and talk to you in person? Everyone?"

Huading planned to enter the high-end porcelain industry ten years ago, and chose to start this year because of the emergence of master craftsmen in recent decades.

But this ghost hand is so elusive that no one can find any information about it.

The senior executives dared not be angry or speak out.

It's truly impossible! Forget about in-depth cooperation; even just a simple task like contacting someone has blocked more than a dozen talented people.

Is it embarrassing? Is it a slap in the face?

not necessarily.

How long did this meeting last?

He didn't stop until Yu Jinnian's phone rang.

The next day, it was night again.

Yu Jinnian, dressed in a dark suit, drove to Haifu Private Kitchen in a low-key manner.

He had a blank expression on his face, a hint of coldness in his eyes. He pushed open the door of private room 888, and a faint fragrance wafted into his nose. Then his eyes fell on the woman at the end of the table.

Si Wan had long hair draped over her shoulders, and her stunning face looked intoxicatingly charming under the light. She exuded an indescribable chivalrous spirit as she talked and laughed.

As if he felt someone was watching him, he turned around and his eyes met Yu Jinnian's.

At that moment, time seemed to stop flowing, and a strange emotion flashed in the eyes of both of them.

"Mr. Yu." Si Wan smiled calmly. She remembered what she had said, to treat each other as strangers when they met again. So it made sense to call him Mr. Yu.

After all, who in Kyoto doesn’t know Mr. Hua Dingyu?

"How's it going, Jinnian? Are you scared?"

Liu Li, director of Kyoto's Culture and Tourism Bureau, was well aware of Si Wan and Yu Jinnian's past, and when he saw Si Wan, he almost shattered his glasses.

Yu Jinnian sat down steadily, his every move as calm as ever. He ignored Liu Li's words and asked Si Wan, "Are you Master Craftsman W?"

It’s more of a statement than a question.

Si Wan nodded, her lips curled up slightly: "It's me."

Liu Li laughed at the side: "Didn't expect that?"

Yu Jinnian curled his lips slightly: "It was a surprise."

Liu Li, Yu Jinnian and Si Li have been classmates for seven years. When they took off their administrative jackets, they also put down their shackles. They were so happy... that I really wanted to report him.

A month ago, Yu Jinnian asked Liu Li to help keep an eye on the information of Craftsman W. At first, he couldn't find any clues. Unexpectedly, it was only yesterday at the dinner party that Liu Li and Si Li had scheduled that he found out that Si Wan was actually Craftsman W.

The atmosphere fell silent for a moment. Liu Li, who was usually observed in his words and expressions, became the one who kept an eye on everything and listened carefully today.

He poured Yu Jinnian a glass of wine: "Come on, don't be so polite, President Yu. Aren't we going to discuss cooperation?"

She tilted her head and said, "Sister, please stop drinking. Your elder brother will easily come after me."

He wanted to pour some juice for Si Wan, but unexpectedly, Si Wan said, "It's okay. We'll have to have some drinking parties in the future. It's good to practice your drinking since Brother Li is one of us."

Liu Li paused, wondering if Si Wan had changed too much.

"Okay, since you said so, then let's drink. At worst, I'll let your eldest brother beat me up." Drinking makes things easier, so he poured Si Wan a glass.

...Moutai poured a full glass, and Liu Li raised the glass: "Half a glass?"

Yu Jinnian and Si Wan had a tacit understanding on this matter and raised their wine glasses almost at the same time.

The three of them drank a whole glass of white wine, without even opening half a glass.

“!”

"You can add more to the conditions offered by Huading." Yu Jinnian got straight to the point as soon as he put down his wine glass.

He doesn't talk about personal connections and just does his job impartially.

The lights were concentrated on Si Wan's face. Her fair and delicate face was so beautiful that it was beyond words. Now Si Wan was no longer the bloated pig-like girl she used to be.

She raised her eyebrows slightly, her curled eyelashes drooped as she blinked, and her lips moved slightly: "Thank you for your appreciation, Mr. Yu, but I am not interested in your company."

The implication is that talking about money is useless.

Si Wan didn't look at Yu Jinnian's expression, but lowered her eyes and looked at Maotai.

Liu Li understood and filled Si Wan's glass again.

"This wine is good." Si Wan raised her eyes and looked at Yu Jinnian while picking up the wine glass: "Please ask Mr. Yu for another one."

Yu Jinnian just looked at Si Wan, quietly watching her raise her head and drink the wine.

"Let me tell you, since you're not in the mood to talk about work today, let's not talk about it." Liu Li looked at Yu Jinnian calmly.

Si Wan put down the cup and stood up: "I'm going to the bathroom."
