Chapter 18 Jin Garden

Chapter 18 Jin Garden

After a heavy rain, the weather in Kyoto was exceptionally sunny and the sky was clear blue.

Si Wan spent the night in Jin Garden yesterday. Strictly speaking, she was under control there.

At noon, those who had slept enough finally decided to get up.

As soon as Si Wan got up, she heard someone knocking on the door.

"Ms. Si, you are finally awake. Lunch is ready."

Aunt Fen, the housekeeper, held her hands in front of her belly with a respectful attitude.

Si Wan had just gotten up and looked disheveled. She needed to wash and dress herself up. "...I'll be there later."

Thirty minutes later, Si Wan, led by Aunt Fen, walked into the restaurant she mentioned.

As a result, another one was installed.

Stepping into the restaurant is like stepping into the luxurious mansion of European aristocrats. Every inch of the space is filled with an amazing atmosphere of luxury.

The restaurant's ceiling is six meters high, and suspended by a massive crystal chandelier. It's composed of thousands of crystals, each meticulously cut to create a dazzling display of light.

The floor is paved with rare Italian marble with a fine texture. The marble has a warm and elegant color, with an off-white base and light gray veins.

The walls of the restaurant are hung with priceless oil paintings, the frames of which are made of pure gold and carved with exquisite patterns, which are noble and luxurious.

Si Wan took a few more deliberate glances.

In the center of the restaurant stands a huge solid wood dining table, which is made of a whole piece of century-old elm wood. The grain of the wood is clearly visible, exuding a simple and mellow atmosphere.

The edges of the dining table have been finely polished, making them rounded and smooth, with an excellent touch.

Si Wan sat down and suddenly laughed. She asked Aunt Fen, "Does your husband usually live here?"

Aunt Fen smiled and said, "My husband is busy and rarely comes home. But this is the first time he has brought a girl home."

Aunt Fen is a person with extremely high emotional intelligence. Even if Si Wan was the 101st woman Yu Jinnian brought back today, she would still say the same thing.

After all, anyone could become your future wife, so it's wise to cherish her.

Si Wan made no comment. There was still someone imprisoned in that house. The credibility was really low.

"He doesn't want to eat?" Si Wan was sure that she wouldn't be able to finish all the delicious food on the table.

Aunt Fen smiled gently, "...Sir, please be at the company promptly at 8 o'clock."

Si Wan raised her eyebrows and stopped being polite.

The meal lasted for more than 40 minutes in silence. It took so long because Si Wan remembered what Yu Jinnian said last night.

"The first auction of Huading porcelain has been moved to Hanxun Pavilion."

She always felt that things were not simple.

At the same time, Yu Jinnian finished a long meeting.

After the meeting, only Dai Ke and Yu Jinnian were left in the conference room.

"Jinnian, it's not that I don't support you, but isn't it a bit too much to bet the team's ten years on Si Wan?"

In Dai Ke's eyes, Si Wan has always been unremarkable.

Yu Jinnian didn't even raise his head: "Do your job well."

Si Wan stayed in the tea room the whole afternoon.

The warm sunlight shines through the window, casting a golden glow on the table.

She wore Yu Jinnian's white shirt without asking, looking relaxed. A piece of white drawing paper lay spread out before her, and she gently stroked the paper with her pencil.

Outside the window, the sea is endless, and the waves beat against the shore, splashing layers of white foam.

The flowers are in full bloom, and the colorful flowers sway gracefully in the breeze. The red ones are like fire, the pink ones are like clouds, and the white ones are like snow. They contrast with the blue sea and form a beautiful picture.

Si Wan looked at the sea outside the window, and her thoughts drifted back to the Ming Dynasty.

She thought of the mountains and rivers of her hometown and the small tea room in the courtyard of the thatched house.

Once upon a time, she lived in the courtyard of Daming, looking at the flowers on the branches, smelling the fragrance of tea, and listening to the sound of stringed instruments coming from afar. Her days were passionate and beautiful.

Today, living in this strange and prosperous modern world, the sea before my eyes is vast and majestic, completely different from the mountains and waters of the Ming Dynasty.

"Alas." He sighed, not knowing what it meant.

Si Wan calmed herself down, refocused her gaze on the drawing paper, and began to outline the tea set.

Yu Jinnian walked into the tea room, intending to find a cup of fragrant tea to relieve his fatigue, but when he looked up, his eyes were caught by the figure by the window.

Si Wan was completely immersed in her own world. The lush flowers and the azure sea outside the window served as a natural backdrop. The sun poured down on her without reservation. A few strands of hair playfully fell beside her cheeks, but she was completely unaware.

The hand holding the pencil nimbly moved across the drawing paper, occasionally pausing to bite his lower lip, frowning slightly, as if pondering the details of a design. Other times, he added a few smooth strokes.

Her eyes gleamed with a determined glint. Her profile was soft and focused, her long eyelashes casting a faint shadow on her eyelids, trembling slightly as she looked.

Yu Jinnian just stood there quietly without disturbing anyone.

His eyes were drawn to the tea set that was gradually taking shape under Si Wan's pen. The lines that combined classical and modern aesthetics seemed to have a unique magic.

A ripple slid across his heart. The Si Wan in front of him was so focused and devoted in her artistic creation that Yu Jinnian had never seen her before.

After an unknown amount of time, Si Wan breathed a sigh of relief, put down the pencil in her hand steadily, and her eyes were filled with a sense of satisfaction that she had accomplished something.

He picked up his drawing board and examined the newly completed design for a while. Then he nodded with satisfaction, raised his hand to smooth down his hair, and began to collect the drawing tools scattered on the table.

As she was putting the paintbrushes back into place one by one, Si Wan inadvertently looked up and was surprised to find Yu Jinnian standing quietly not far away.

She was slightly startled, then smiled and said, "When did you come back? Why didn't you make a sound? You scared me."

Yu Jinnian seemed to have heard something funny and walked over: "This is my home."

Si Wan rolled her eyes: "...I know it's your house, and no one is competing with you for it."

"Just in time, I came to take a look. Is everything okay?" Everyone likes to be praised, and Si Wan is no exception.

What she didn't know was that Yu Jinnian had already seen it.

Yu Jinnian folded his hands over his chest, frowned slightly, and scanned the design drawings. He pursed his lips deliberately and said:

“This design seems fresh at first glance, but after careful consideration, I feel like it lacks something eye-catching.

Although the lines are smooth, they lack a unique charm. If put on the market, I am afraid it will be difficult to stand out."

As he spoke, he shook his head slightly, his expression a little critical, but his eyes would occasionally glance at Si Wan to observe her reaction.

"As for..." Si Wan thought: Is it really that bad?

Could it be that her aesthetic taste is out of date in modern times?

"Okay." Si Wan nodded without questioning his intention. If the boss wasn't satisfied with the drawing, then he would just say, "...I'll design a new one."

"Yeah." The man turned and left with a faint smile on his lips.

When Yu Jinnian came downstairs, Aunt Fen came to greet him: "Sir, is Miss Si having dinner at Jin Garden today?"

Yu Jinnian glanced at Aunt Fen, and Aunt Fen immediately lowered her head, fearing that her thoughts would be seen through by the boss.

Aunt Fen told Si Wan that she was the first woman Yu Jinnian brought into Jin Garden, and this was true.

Therefore, the senior butler became more thoughtful.

How could Yu Jinnian not know what Aunt Fen meant? He glanced towards the tea room and said, "Stay overnight."

Aunt Fen smiled and replied, "Hey. Hey. I don't know what Miss Si likes to eat. I'll go prepare some more."

The sun sets, and the light and shadows outside the window sway gently. Before I know it, it is already evening.

The aroma of food filled the entire space. Aunt Fen, the housekeeper, stood at the door of the dining room and raised her voice toward the tea room, calling out, "Miss Si, it's time to eat!"

Si Wan was immersed in the excitement of completing the design draft. When she heard Aunt Fen's call, she realized that her stomach had been rumbling for a long time.

She casually put down the brush in her hand, stood up and trotted towards the restaurant. She was so engrossed in painting that afternoon that she didn't notice that she had inadvertently wiped her face with her paint-stained hand, leaving a few smears of paint on her fair cheeks.

Si Wan rushed into the restaurant and stopped abruptly when she found Yu Jinnian sitting in the main seat.

"Sorry, I'm so hungry." She didn't want to be called a hungry dog.

Yu Jinnian looked at Si Wan, his calm gaze sweeping across her face that had turned into a calico cat.

Those bright colors look particularly striking on her face, playful and cute.

"Let's eat."

The man lowered his eyes, and a hint of imperceptible tenderness flashed in them.
